- Thanks for watching!
On the first take, Chelsea got up and walked outside for 10 minutes, which is why she’s panting. (It’s 110 outside today)......everyone’s a critic.
I forgot to mention that I ONLY do this for home use. I would never alter a jacket without letting a buyer know it....I honestly have never tried this before filming this video...and it shows.
The easiest way to solve this problem is to not get seam splits in the first place! I do not store my records in the jackets. They get a fresh white paper sleeve and sit behind the jacket in a plastic outer sleeve. The same way I ship them.
Man, I missed a LOT of double entendres in this video. Sorry. I’ll try harder next time.
I came to find instructions for repairing jacket/coat split seam. Stayed for humorous personality/presentation. Haha
Thank you!
Nice tutorial :)
Also, loved the Operation Mindcrime LP on display 🙌 Legendary Album 🤘
Brilliant, worked well !
I just bought a 3 pack of cheap school glue sticks for $1 and worked very well, no need to buy expensive glue sticks any will do the job !
im trying to come chill in your record store and crack jokes together!
I appreciate that, but when we moved to AZ to be closer to my parents, I didn’t open a brick and mortar and only sell thru our website now.
Sorry I couldn't find the right stream. I just to thank you for your input on loop repair. I was only going at it on one side. When I hit it from the other direction it was like magic!!! Kudos brother!!! I actually used a toothpick. I know you use a needle which would probably do great on deeper scratches. I just used what I had available but, I have a couple albums that I thought were a lost cause. Maybe not... Tom from Indiana
Ironically, the only reason I’ve never used a toothpick is because I can never remember to pick any up at the store. I would think they would be more forgiving than a needle. You have to have a steady light hand
Helpful tip on salvaging edges from junk record jackets - seems like some other kind of glue might do a better job than glue sticks - maybe hot melt glue? or contact cement?
I typically use just normal super glue (obviously being super careful not to get glue on the jacket) and it works a treat, much better than glue sticks imo
I use junk mail flyer postcards if reinforcements needed and wax based furniture spray cleaner on a microcloth to polish covers and rid moldy smells.
What brand are the glue sticks?
Newer records come with split inner sleeves which is abhorrent.
I guess they can be fixed the same way but in all splits the edges protrude and I'm not sure to leave then as is or cut them out.
That gets on my nerves.
Buffer binder clips with wooden tongue depressers
meh... I just tape em shut ... It's not like my records are worth anything...
I have split album covers that are ripping in the middle how do you fix that?
I have the same issue, did you ever find a fix?
Clear tape !
😂✌
