Check out the latest portable lighting solutions from Lume Cube : glnk.io/nn4/photo-genius Thanks for watching and supporting my channel. Paul @ Photo Genius.
Those are actually very impressive! When you pulled the first oen out of the box, I thought, "Yeah, it's small. But what about after you put the huge Sony battery on it?" But you didn't! It's self-contained - battery and all! I know - I'm still living in the old days. But these products are really cool. Thanks for sharing.
I just found your channel whilst looking for small lighting solutions. It was really helpful to see all three old these products side by side. Question.. on the Lyme cube 2.0, you mentioned it could do a strobe effect? Have you shown that in another video?.
I cannot recall demonstrating this in a video I'm afraid, but I can tell you it's a great feature. Try searching for the Lume Cube here on UA-cam. Thanks for watching.
Another great video, Paul. Thanks! Do you know when you'll have the comparison between continuous light vs flash? I just purchased the R6 and love it's low light capabilities, but some photos still need artificial light.
That would depend mostly on what you are lighting. The great thing about LED lights like the Lume Cube and Panel GO/Mini is that they are constant lights - this means you can see how the light falls and how it casts shadows prior to taking the image, with flash you see the results after you have taken the image. I'm considering doing a flash v LED light video soon where I will go into the pros and cons of each in more detail.
@@photogenius I would love a video on this. Currently torn between the panel mini or lume cube 2.0 vs the Godox V860ii. I do a lot of Astro so I like the lume cube for light painting, but how would a lume cube do with macro shots? Would the panel mini be better? Or would you suggest a flash? Thanks for your videos! Great info!
One of the main reasons why LED lights are popular is that the light is constant, so you can see how the light is falling and how and where it is casting shadows prior to taking the image. LED lights are also generally cheaper than flash units and can easily be used off camera. Flash units are more powerful though, so pro’s and con’s with each. I might put together a video on flash v LED lights in the future.
Is there any possibility to remotely trigger Lume Cube from smartphone similary to a photographic flashgun ? If not do you know any small flash (size of Lightpix Labs FlashQ Q20II) that can be trigger by a smartphone ?
@@photogenius What about Lume Cube ? I heard that Lume Cube can be triggered by a smartphone and in that mode it gives more light than in continuous lighting.
As good as they look the cost is way too much for most amateurs, I'll stick with my cheap Amazon LED that is bigger and heavier, but comes with just as many features and covers for color.
Thanks for your review of the Lumecube range. Are you familiar with the Phottix M200R RGB panel? I'm trying to decide if the Panel Go is a better option perhaps?
Thats about as much of an endorsement as you can get. I dont remember u not liking anything. They get warm and the barn doors are cheap plastic. The rest of the magnetuc gels are high quality.
SOS! SOS! SOS! Don't buy Lume if you are not in the USA!!!! They mention nowhere in their website or during the purchase that you will have to pay triple the price in taxes and VAT when the item reaches your country and will not accept return/refund!!! Total rip-off!
That's a you problem. Your country charges import taxes not the company who sells the product. It's up to a buyer to research their countries customs prior to bringing products in. It has nothing to do with any other company who you buy products from overseas.

Thank you - yep for the size these lights do pack a punch.
Great photos and reviews Paul. I’ll have to check the beach display out next year! Great opportunity for fun and creative photos.
Thank you - if you can get to Swell in 2011 you will love it.
this little lighting system looks amazing!
Very informative, Paul thank you👍😊. I shall be checking these out...
Please do! They are really good.
You perfectly teach us what is Photography..♥️
I appreciate that!
Thank you for sharing Amazing photos Awesome techniques. Very professional love it...
Thanks so much!
Hi Paul. Once again, you've done very well. Thanks mate.
Many thanks!
Wow what a great piece of gear 👍
Would you recommend the panel mini or the lume cube when doing mostly food photography?

Pretty neat light, I like the color changing the most!!! =8^)
Thanks! 😄
I love the idea of these. I'd love to see a "softening cover" and color filters on the larger unit.
The larger Panel Go now includes a removable diffuser cover just like the smaller mini 👍
hi Paul, could you use the lime cube panel light as a replacement for a mounted flash?
That would depend mostly on what you are lighting. Awesome video! ❤ More power to your YT channel sir.
Thank you! 😁
Just curious, why you wouldn't just use a normal flash you can add to your camera?

@@photogenius yes, i would love to see a video on the 2. Thanks!
I'd love to see a demo video of these being used in real time.
I have 2. I will try to post something next week.

I'm sorry I'm not aware of any flash / led light that can be triggered by a smartphone.
@@photogenius What about Lume Cube ? I heard that Lume Cube can be triggered by a smartphone and in that mode it gives more light than in continuous lighting.
Unfortunately both of our panels resets to 3100 making it a pain to have to keep resetting it

How long does it take to charge from 0 to 100%?
if you have to choose one cube which one should you choose?
The Panel GO gets used the most - it's so useful.
Haiii I'm just get my own camera, thanks for always inspiring me 🇲🇾❤️
That's awesome!
I CLICK ON "LIKE" THEN START TO WATCH. THANKS , THIS CHANNEL IS ONE OF MY FAVOTIRES.
Thank you so much.
Please show night photography of night birds as bats with this pannel mini tool
Do you recommend this light for indoor/outdoor portraits?
Certainly if the ambient levels are low - great for indoor, night, sundown etc...
Photo Genius thank you , I really appreciate it

How were you able to merge the 2 pictures??
Photoshop, et al.
Hey Paul, when you dropping a new challenge? I love these!
And great video here! Super informative
Thank you.
Later today (hopefully), just sorting the final edit.
Photo Genius - Yes! You’re the best Paul. Your videos have transformed my understanding of photography and my DSLR. THank you so much!!

The Cube?, that £72.00 in the UK!😳
Nice, but, I'm not allow to spend more money, maybe next year for Christmas.
I hope Santa brings you what you need 🙂 thanks for watching.
See ya haven't lost that Auzzie accent Lad.
The Pro kit with everything you need?, that’s £269.00, not cheap!😎
Certainly cheaper lights available - but I can tell you these lights are really great, well built and I think a good investment long term.
Credit card sized light costs £69.00 in the UK....😳
I think a good product

Receiving items to review equals sponsoring.
No money was received for this video would be more forthright.
