Hey brother! I hope you are doing well these days. I really miss your presence on youtube. I just went through some old sharpening videos of yours to play along while i sharpen an old 4lb Wards Master Quality axe head i found at a local antique shop. The edge is coming along BEAUTIFULLY! Thanks to your advice. I looked to see if you had any new videos and was sad to see you hadn't uploaded in over 2 years. I really hope you're doing well these days! Miss your quirky wisdom and commentary. Just wanted to say thank you for all the content and that you are missed on youtube! Much love brother✌
It would be nice if you could take a break from your manufacturing to do a video of you chopping with these axes. The design appears excellent and I hope to acquire one in the future to round out my collection.
My grandfather left me an American-made ax. and I'm keeping it as a very valuable keepsake. ash wood is an optimal choice for the ax handle. I think so
It reminds me a lot of the Kelly perfect, and you video on work axes peed me to buy a Kelly perfect head and want to hang it myself but I didn't get to before I ship out to Marine basic training so this would be perfect to order and get to my mom's when I'm done with basic
#meetwo I instinctively thought of Kelly Tassie phantom bevel ax when I first glanced at this new marvelous offering. As the video shows, some real thought and research has gone into this design, it's far from a copy, it's borrowed little pieces from all over. I like the handles too!
Yes, that axe taught me that those things actually CAN work, but you have grind the whole bevel down enough for it the matter. Combined they operated quite nicely! So put an 18 degree on your Kelly and watch them kick in lol
Very good axe.Wehn you have time look my axe Collection.I have Wetterlings small splitting axe but the head profile is very good for bushkraft camp axe.Nice review.Greatings from Bulgaria.
Damn, I have a few Ax's (quite a few actually)....& that ax you guys have designed looks suppurb. I gotta save some pennies. If you order an axe can you buy handles too, I likey dem handles. I don't understand why everyone on this earth ain't subscribed to this channel. It's friggin non stop ax action, stuff & more stuff about ax'z.
Just discovered your channel. Wicked cool axes man...hope to save up and order one someday. Your videos deserve so many more views cause you put out such good work and content. Looking forward to see what you put out in the future. Keep doing what you're doing!!
WOOHOO! Was in the bush today thinkin "is it sacrilege to carve phantom bevels into my arvika, lighten it a bit, and chuck a thin racing handle into it? That might work" then I get back into phone service, my phone beeps (with deliverance banjo ringtone) and this vid pops up. LOVE IT. Perfect. Can u ship to Australia in these covid times?
So not only have to borrowed Aussie ax maker Keech's design...but their unique casting process too! Lol...it's OK I get it, when you want to design a real wood chopper, its usually the Aussie designed patterns that get the nod. Seriously though, I am grateful to anyone who in modern time (today) is making Ax's with passion & pride & purpose. And you guys here are doing just that, can't wait to buy one. Love the channel boss
I actually just bought two of the infamous Keesteel (Keech) NOS washies (washboard patter) or also known as poison Ax's. They have vertical grooves along the head. Very collectible in Australia.
Well Mr Bushcraft, it's just really nice to have a channel dedicated to the finer detail....the details only ax nut-jobs like us care about. I hope you sell a bunch of these Ax's & just keep doing what you do giving us great content. From the palmswell to the wedge everything about your new axe is well thought out...people don't realise what goes into this sort of thing, but we do appreciate it.
I just started my axe fetish 😂😂 since I started carving logs for my beehives. I’ll take a look through your website. I recently bought a Gransfors Bruk.
Wandered into the channel by accident watched several of your vids to conclude you know your stuff. Totally refreshing and love the presentation. Nice to see things being done by someone who's generous in teaching others by sometimes showing own past mistakes, that's commendable. As a former edge tool instructor and user more than 20 yrs, pleased to subscribe. Excellent work :). Look forward to more.
Just want to say thanks, especially for your sharpening videos. It blows my mind how many sharpening videos are out there that never mention the word burr. I don't know of any other way to to tell if you have something sharp tip to toe except to feel a burr tip to toe! It cannot be stressed enough.
I downvoted, this is why: The eye is the american ovalshaped eye, why would you not use a D eye? It is objectivly easier to align the blade with the handle. No Metalringwedge used. 1500 g? 760mm? Too heavy and too long. Dr.Reissinger recommended in 1950 a 900-1250g axe depending on tree size. Also Armslenght for Handlelenght. The "Blatt" i guess its Cheeks in English? Is Wedgeshaped, on grinding back you need to grind much more than on an Axe that has nearly parallel Cheeks like the Iltis Axe. All in all, another nice Axe for the Hipsters to hang on the wall.
Looks like a lot of thought went into it. I don't understand the overly short, but I guess I'm just not accepting of any departures of American axe design from the heyday.
Looks very nice and it is clear that a lot of practical use and observation has gone into the design. I like the look of the handles, that race style is so much better than the standard type of handles
@@BushcraftSisyphus Not sure what my English pattern is but it sure cuts well. Might have to get one at some point, but after buying a £2500 peg and raker saw it may be years before the missus lets me get another christmas lol!
I would love to try this axe it reminds me of my Kelly perfect and I think you got the handle length just right. Congratulations on your design, I wish they were more reasonably priced but I understand everyone has to make money 🙏
How goes the adventure of making and selling TOP NOTCH AXES? I'm in a bit of a bidding war for a HB tassie right now otherwise I would LOVE to have one of your work axes for my collection
It is the most incredible and perfect axe I've ever owned or used. The tremendous amount of research and development you put into it really paid off. I think it is, without question, the Ultimate Work Axe!
G'day Sisyphus hope your well, got my work axe about a month ago, cuts like a demon! Felled and bucked about a Rick so far. Thanks to you and your crew for all the effort, beautiful bit of gear. Cant wait for a Tassie or Connie! Go science!
Lane please don't use boiled linseed oil it has a lot of bad chemicals that penetrate Your skin and get in the bloodstream. Use raw linseed or flaxseed which is the same.Skillcult has a great video on oiling the handles.
Looks sweet but the Kentucky shoulders can die in a fire and the poll can be longer? Still a sweet looking axe but those bloody shoulders are a PITA to rehaft.
@@BushcraftSisyphus oh I love the look, don't get me wrong. I do prefer a larger poll on most axes though. If this one had a larger poll and was available with a shorter, straight haft (or just make the heads available?) it would make a wicked wedge banger.

Thank god no Viking 🤦🏻♂️. That Nerderie is why I tune in, and know I’m getting a well thought out and researched product. Always top notch!!
Didn't this guy make it through covid? Where is he?
What time on Friday, September 25th will these be available on your site? Thank you!
As soon as I can get up and turn on the listing??? 😬😂😴
Awesome Axe, Lane :) ... but what ... NO VIKINGS ?? :-0 Vikings know best how to use axes ....
