As someone nearly twice Liam's age I can honestly say I admire that young man. His work is amazing and unique in a time when most want to be like everyone else. I wish him the best of luck in business and life.
These are always my favorite types of videos BladeHQ makes and this one did not disappoint. Listening to him talk and the passion he has makes you wanna get out there and create something! Well done Kurt and all involved, now I’ve just gotta get one of his pieces and put it to work!
Very nicely produced. Great story telling. You should be proud of this communications piece. Please continue in this direction as time and resources permit.
I have been lucky enough to spend some time with Liam, his family, and all the guys at the shop. Amazing young men with a lot of talent. Watching a block of steel turn into a beautiful tool is magical and his quality control is second to none. His handles are every bit as beautiful as his heads. His mother hand makes the sheaths and when you see those you understand where he got his craftsmanship skill from.
They have a number of videos similar to this in the “Meet Your Maker” series, including much longer form ones with Spyderco, Hogue, Chris Reeve as mentioned and others!
I was watching back in his old shop then he moved put a few video's on you tube then he just stop . Probably to busy trying to survive but he's a hell of a young knife smith and Ax maker and a great example of what you can do . Happy trails
Do what you love and love what you do. May sound a little cheesy, but it's so true though. I can speak from personal experience that when you do what you love, it doesn't feel like work at all.
Love the Video and its great to see All of his products are out of stock on bladeHQ. I'll do my best to get my hands on one but i guess it will be hard to do it from germany
I agree. I love this style of video focusing on the maker(s) only. Interviews are great but the interviewer sometimes distracts you from the maker. And these videos are very relaxing to watch after six days of work.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a neck knife that doesn't look like a knife, I live in India and even though i carry legal knives, the guard in my apartment always confiscates them, and the next time i go out i see my knife in his pocket. I need a knife that doenst look like a knife so this idiot stops stealing my 100$+ knives.
Why are you letting a rent-a-cop bully you? They don't have much power. Stand your ground or at least conceal your knives when passing him. Technically I'm not allowed to have "weapons" at the place I work but I use my knives in front of other people anyway, and nobody says shit to me. Good luck and stay frosty.
@@DarthRambaldi47 But the thing is in india, especially in malls and apartments, secirity can do whatever they want. If they want to go to the other side of the community for some reason, they can MAKE YOU GIVE YOUR BICYCLE TO THEM. If ur eating like chips or something a lot of them will make us give our food to them... and if we dont listen to them they repoort us to the tenant board as having "unsavory behavior" and no one believes us since the security are adults, and me and my friends are like 13-14 yr old kids. It's really shitty.

Liam has been my favorite maker since homeboy was in the shed. Love his work

This kid is killing it and I’m proud I just microwave welded two leftover pizza slices together

It's such an interesting mixture of techniques that allow him to make a truly handmade product, but in a very repeatable fashion. Fascinating.
Will this be an on-going series? I love the idea of bringing other makers to the Blade HQ audience, because the 2 viewer bases are not always equal.
The did "Meet Your Maker" several years back. There has been talk of doing Chris Reeve Knives again.
This is a great idea!

I'd love to see more videos like this where they highlight different designers or small business like this!

I already wanted a piece from him but no even more so after hearing how humble he is. 👏🏻👏🏻

I remember when Dave Canturbury had him on his channel. Liams work blew me away!
This is pretty sweet. Been looking at getting a new forest axe.
Very good. Loved it. Keep up the good work.
Loved this video... definitely a good direction / evolution for the channel.
Glad you liked it! We're definitely planning more in the future

Drops a video nothing for sale 😒
His work always has a wait period.
They actually dropped a batch of axes at about noon but they sold out in about 15 minutes.
