Highland Park 12 was my go-to for a few years until I was gifted an 18, and that's when I discovered I had expensive tastes in whisky.

I just got a bottle of this and I dont typically enjoy alcohol much period, save for a few exceptions, but I decided to try something different than the usual cheap $15-20 whiskey bottle I've had in the past and picked up some of this and wow it has changed my whole perspective and sparked a whole new interest for me especially with scotch. I'm sure Highland 12 is far from the best out there but for me it's by far the best I've had. Now I'm looking forward to exploring and trying more different whiskeys. Nice Strat also. Cheers.

Awesome review and I liked the guitar solo. Matches the whiskey theme niceley. In Europe we get the 40% abv and 700ml, so in the US you get 3% and 50ml more. Haha...

Like Gordon, Highland Park 12 used to be my go-to whiskey as well. I still have a Highland Park 18 somewhere, still have to try it. Bought it in the distillery store when we visited Orkney last summer. Nice video!

@@Jordonarkyn I agree completely! I'd go through so many bottles of Buffalo Trace as my daily drinker back in the day when it was around $20 USD. It's a bit harder to find now, but still a great Bourbon. I have an older episode about it: ua-cam.com/video/uM1G0NV5YD4/v-deo.html. Cheers!

I would recommend you to try HP Twisted Tattoo. Best one I've tried from them.

I love the level of peat in the HP12. The Islay’s are a bit strong for me. Tried the Talisker, Lagavulin and the laphroig but prefer something milder. Any suggestions?

Thank you. Highland Park is a consistently good Scotch. I wouldn’t mind if they’d experiment a little more with other expressions. They have a ton of talent in that distillery.
