Glencadam Reserva Andalucia Highland Single Malt Scotch Tasting/Review

- While in Dundee, I picked up a bottle of Glencadam Single Malt Scotch that I’ve never seen in California. Reserva Andalucia is an Oloroso Sherry finished whisky with no age statement and no artificial coloring. It’s also non-chill filtered for maximum taste. Check out my review and let me know if you’ve had this expression. Check out the gear I use: whiskyriffs.co....
Watch / findingginamarie to find out why we’re in Scotland.
The guitar sounds are from my 2016 Fender American Professional Stratocaster.

Great review of the Glencadam from Brechin (pronounced Bree-kin) and glad you enjoyed it. Glencadam make some beautiful whisky, especially their 10 and 18 year old. They have also just released some more NAS, 46%, natural colour bottles this week. A Reserva PX and Reserva de Burgundy finish (Pinot Noir), which I have just ordered. Hopefully more Glencadam can make it your way to California.
Thanks for the compliment and the suggestions! My wife and I left California, so maybe I’ll find more expressions around the globe. Cheers from Kraków! ua-cam.com/users/FindingGinaMarie
My home town and I'm very impressed you pronounced Broughty ferry properly ( not everyone can ) Welcome back to Dundee anytime
Thanks, Peter! We've loved our time in The Ferry. And the only reason I pronounced it correctly is because of my buddy who lives here, Chris Phin (www.youtube.com/@ebikenuggs). Cheers!
@Whisky Riffs ..I knew you must have been familiar with the place ...Great reviews I enjoy them I don't quite have the pallet you do but I try ......I do enjoy a laphroig ruby cask I'm not sure you have done that yet?
I haven't reviewed (or tasted) the Laphroaig Ruby Cask yet. I'll look for it. Judy actually booked Broughty Ferry months ago before we knew anything about it. I thought Chris was in Dundee proper, so it was cool to learn that he was quite close to our Tayside apartment. Sometimes, we just get lucky with our location choices. ;)
I will check all your reviews ...laphroig cai'rdeas is the actual name ..
Ah, the Laphroaig 2021 Càirdeas Port Cask. Yes, I did review that in this episode: ua-cam.com/video/sAcLr7k3Z34/v-deo.html. Cheers!
Congratulations to be in Scotland. Do you plan any distillery visit? Thank you for tasting.
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately we ran out of time to travel to distilleries. Maybe next time.
Reserva Antiqua would’ve been a great name!😂
That's the spirit, Daniel! Lean into my mistakes. 🤣
Something sad about a man having trouble finding whisky to purchase.... in SCOTLAND!
Very true, Joseph. 😅 This Tayside town has plenty of bars, but not the same proliferation of whisky shops. We've also been a bit busy creating content. But we'll be in Edinburgh for a couple of days this week and I'll see what I can do to record something there. Cheers!
This used to be sold in China for $30-40, great flavor but too young and a bit spicy. In general, this distillery is very recommended, especially the 15-year-old one, and the ones that are higher age or barrel-strength are too expensive
Thanks for the comment and pricing details. Compared to other drams I've had lately, the Reserva Andalucia wasn't nearly as spicy. Maybe it's mellowed over the years with adjustments to the casks.
