Surgeons need to treat them better!
Exactly
Agree! & facilities need to pay surgical techs better. Then they wouldn't have to worry about high turn over.
So true, and being looked down on by nurses does not help. I have been a CST for 11 years. As a CST, you have to draw boundaries for nurses and doctors. Also, we can make or break a case.
pay them more too, it’s a vital role!!
Exactly. The career has a high turn over because they are undervalued.
I’m in my 5th week of school right now 😂 the fact that people are unaware is good
Keep it that way
Job security but it’s high stress job with lots of call hours. I’ve been at CST for 29 years but now only work part time because I need boundaries with the high stress.😂
That’s great to know cuz I’m going to school for this soon!
If you want to spend as much time as you can with your family don't do it cuz you're going to get stuck in call hours I just got off a 20-hour shift yesterday and I have to do the same thing tomorrow so 40 hours and 2 days if you have a little kids and that's just call hours it's not worth it find something else to do and the graphics field and technology so we can work from home and spend time with your family cuz that's more important! I miss my whole Thanksgiving with my family because I stayed there at my job for 20 hours doing s***you feel like you're doing good things but it also makes you resent people as well..... Because you totally realized that the people you're working for are only in it for the dollar.... And that's sad

I’m in school for this… they/we are underpaid… we do basically all the work along side the surgeon while the nurse sits and documents and passes us stuff while x-ray sits and takes a nap until the surgeon says xray… yet we get paid the less
I work for a new Vance in New York state / Connecticut and I'm trying to stage a coup right now to have a strike... I just worked 40 hours in 2 days aside from my regular hours which is another 36 for the weak. This job is in short to man and nobody wants to do it because the pay is s*** and the benefits are garbage for the union that it's in new Vance new Vance new vans in Connecticut which is 1199 and the teachers union which is s*** hit me up if you can help
