This is one of my favorite performances ever. Because the acurete movement. Her wearing the my size Barbie dress. And my favorite part is the fact that Shine from the movie Barbie and 12 Dancing Princesses was in it. It like no one remembers that song. So I'm so glad they used it here 😍. They did amazing

On top of the dress, the accurate Barbie shoes are what really got me! I saw those and immediately had a vivid memory of trying to shove those exact shoes on my Barbie’s feet as a kid.

Love how this feels like a child's toys coming to life for a brief dance, slowly becoming more real as time goes on but only for a bit.
Absolutely love, as a Barbie fan, love during the "Barbie Girl" part of the choreography, the more stereotypical take on Barbie (That she's vain, shallow and lifeless) and then during the "Shine" part of the choreo, it's more to the spirit of what we see in old barbie movies. That she's kind and graceful and an enchanting character to watch. This clearly done with a lot of love for Barbie and what she truly stands for and it makes me so happy to see.

I too was a Barbie girl growing up and loved Barbie + Ken, as well as Betsy McCall paper dolls...Inherited my mother's talent and eye for style and design, so enjoyed them both.
Also, loved your comment abt how this captured the child's imagination of their dolls coming to life -- even for a moment...This is the inspiration of Tchaikovski's "Nutcracker" and children's books like, "Where the Wild Things Are"....I can literally remember having these moments as a child...Thank you for reawakening some of those moments!

I don't know how many little girls you've been around and/or babysat or anything but all of the ones I have loved to get dressed up in beautiful dresses and dance the day away. I think my assessment still rings true to this day, despite what our current woke culture would like us to believe. Yes, there are tomboys. Heck, I was a bit of a tomboy. I'd play with frogs and worms in the mud but I also loved Barbies and dancing too. The very vast majority of little girls love dancing and dolls too.
This has been my favorite dance in a dance competition!!! Love the carrying from start to finish that was the icing on the cake! I've never seen a barbie and Ken dance before I was so amazed 🥰

This was fabulous. Those stiff moves are not easy to pull off so convincingly. Y'all really nailed it.
My favorite bit though was when y'all went fluid and did the twirling in sync with each other. I love that move so much. Beautifully done.

У моей дочери были в детстве и Барби и Кен. Смотря на великолепных танцоров, на их движения и мимику, вспомнила те дни, когда мы играли с ней в принца и принцессу. Я покупала туфельки для Барби и шила ей платья. Мы с дочерью были очень счастливы тогда. Спасибо вам за чудесный спектакль, это было очень красиво! Особенно платье у партнёрши: мечта любой девочки!

Seeing the classic take on Barbie Girl, and then it immediately being transformed to both of you LEVITATING on the dance floor, was incredible to watch. It’s like seeing a child’s imagination come to life, it’s incredible to see how the art form of movement can express these simple things a beautiful way. Keep on dancing!!
I love Barbie and I love this dance!!!! My favorite aspect was how during Barbie Girl (a song parodying Barbie), the movements are stiff, but during Shine (an official Barbie song) the movements become fluid!

I absolutely loved it and I never love anything like this. I think I even cried. It was beautiful as a fundamental truth of childhood and the controversies of adulthood. The unbearableness of Barbie vanished for a moment and I all I remembered was my hopes and dreams of being beautiful too.

This is the best dance I've seen in a long time. I Love the costumes, the moves, the music. Barbie Girl made sense, the dance was wonderful. Then they went "real" and I thought it was Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. I hadn't heard that one in years and I missed it. But Then It Went "And you dance, and you dance" and I about lost my freakin mind. I LOVED 12 dancing princesses as a kid. This nade my day!!

What an amazing way to turn ballroom dancing on its head and make the point about your moves being as stiff as possible rather than as fluid as possible until you become "real." I love this so much! And my son is obsessed with what he keeps calling your "tutu." It is pretty awesome; it even sparkles while you're standing still!!!
