I was wondering if during a skating performance an audience helps or hurts with regards to applause and such getting in the way of the music. Terrific skating by these 2. It is mentioned in the description that they had to pay for the ice time. Kinda surprising since the bank that pays for the naming rights of the area could certainly afford to do so and while yeah during a lot of the routine not much of the background is in focus, things do slow down enough that you can see their logo on the wall and in the ice. So they would get the publicity for doing a good deed. But, alas, twas not to be. Oh well.

Watching again in 2024, and this is still one of the most organic ice dances I've ever seen. It's like alchemy; all the ingredients come together and effortlessly create pure gold.
I watch this video now every morning after I wake up. It´s a beautiful contrast to the clumsiness of people moving about anxiously on the sidewalk/supermarket during covid ;_)
@@fe5018 Passion and Chemistry aren't solely romantic aspects. It's such a shame how that's the automatic default these days. That's another reason why I especially love this routine and this duo: they're fueled by a sense of intimacy that isn't often portrayed in skating. The vast majority of professional figure skating pairs always have this tinge of romantic and wondrous tension in their dynamic, their routines and their costumes, even if the relationship the skaters themselves share is completely platonic and/or professional. With this brother-sister team, we have a pair with a loving essence that almost nobody would mistake for romance, so they're not only delivering medal-worthy routines, they're flipping the stereotype upside down of romantic affection being the most prevalent affection, or the only kind of affection allowed, to be hinted at in the sport, or that the strength of sibling and familial love could never hold up to romantic love.
Been watching over an over, and I still say...the BEST I've ever seen!! They are Olympian Champians!! So perfectly on time, so gracious and such two beautiful people skating to the perfect song. Love , Love, Love it💖💖💖
This is most definitely the most beautiful and enjoyable skating performance I have ever watched. No commentators, judges, talking, just their perfect skating and the sound of the ice. Amazing!
This is the first time I’ve ever heard the noise of the skates. The grinding and growling. It adds enormously to the physicality of the performance. Wonderful.
I gotta say this is one of the best figure skating performaces I've ever seen. So in tune with each other. The choreography was so beautiful. It was magic!❤🎀🩷
It’s incredible when the connection and trust between partners are so strong that you end up with something like this. Such a seamless, beautiful performance. Gorgeous, flawless filming!
Even though there weren’t any audience to cheer for them. There are 9M people cheering and supporting them...You guys did amazing! Keep up the Good Work!
That´s what I thought, too. Everything in this video is just perfect. Except maybe the 2 or 3 people outisde the ice...If they would not have been there, the "dystopian-covid-vibe" would have been even better. But one can´t control everything ;_)
After two years, it's still the best thing I've seen in ice skating on film. The closeness and timing of all three involved is unbelievable and still unbeaten - a masterpiece 🙂
Omggggg I’m sat here tearing up at the beauty and flow of this performance! The pure joy and hard work you know went into this are astounding to witness 😭💖
THANK YOU for mentioning 'three!' Yes. There is absolutely no denying the powerful performance by the skaters. But the camera work was BRILLIANT, and I felt completely pulled into their performance because of it. I can only imagine how much time went into strategizing the camera positions and number of times practicing and performing to ensure the pure perfection which was executed!!! WOW!
The flow of their synchronicity and strength is heart-skip-a-beat gorgeous. The videography that puts we viewers on the ice with them is truly inspired. This is the prettiest thing I’ve seen in ages.
WOW......I've never seen such a young pair of skilled skaters like these two....they are so fast on the ice, they are in sync with each other, their performance is outstanding....the strength they both have...I was just mesmerized watching them....The future Olympic champions right there ! 👋👋👋👋
I can’t even begin to imagine how exhilarating it must be to glide and jump across the ice while with someone you trust so much that you both are perfectly in sync with each other
Just breath-taking. The skill. The music. The expressiveness. The choreography. The camera. All working together in the most exquisite way. I’m a huge skating fan and have never been so amazed by a skating performance. This just totally blew my mind. Well done, Oona and Gage. The sky’s the limit!

@@archechrystaline9704 We have to remember he is using a stabilzing gimbal to create these fluid and no vomit cam effect. I came to comment the same thing about camera operator. Has to know their choreography as much as them in order to be in the right place for the best shots and never be in the way or miss something
This is the best figure skating i have ever seen. I keep coming back to rewatch it again and again. I don't do that with others. I love that there are no jumps. Leave room for more variety of skating. More artistic, less about power and dangerous jumps. Art, cooperation, trust, choreography. The two of them together. Amazing.

I loved the fact that they weren't wearing costumes, which more often than not distracts from a performance rather than enhances it. The focus was totally on their art, not the bling.
As a broadcast cameraman who has filmed on ice before I just have to say: the camerawork is every bit as artistic and virtuosic as the skating. Amazing work!

Watching again in 2024, and this is still one of the most organic ice dances I've ever seen. It's like alchemy; all the ingredients come together and effortlessly create pure gold.
This is the most gorgeous choreography. They are so in sync, they are moving as one. I could watch this all day
Beautiful so much power!!!
I watch this video now every morning after I wake up. It´s a beautiful contrast to the clumsiness of people moving about anxiously on the sidewalk/supermarket during covid ;_)
Me too!! Artistry and athleticism in motion ❤
Wow Wow Wow
Und der Mann in der gelben Jacke war zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort.
I watched it 4 times in a row at 5am. Found this on my way back from the bathroom. Must..... go...... back..... to.... bed!
They look like they are totally in the zone. It’s euphoric.

The choreography...the effortlessness...they belong on the ice.
Gosh! How graceful, fluid and in perfect sync. What a beautiful piece of pure art. Fabulous! ♥️
Everything about this is perfect, I just don’t have words. Breathtaking. ❤️
My jaw was dropped for most of it. No words can begin to describe this.
@@blahdiblah2169 I totally agree. :) I cannot get enough of this video.

@@kaylahughes7222 MIRACULOUS 🥳🥳
The song, the chemistry, the passion in this was EVERYTHING.
I know what you mean(at least, I think/hope I do) but it still reads weird having passion and chemistry ascribed to siblings.
@AunyxTM I agree and understood that's probably what the commenter meant. Those words just have such connotations that it reads ...oddly.
Filmed so well. It really feels like we're flying across the ice.
Exactly
for a moment I thought I was a drone.. lol
@@tulesg2008 wow 😂
It really is incredible viewing, isn’t it. I hadn’t previously realised the speeds that ice skaters get up to in their routines.
Been watching over an over, and I still say...the BEST I've ever seen!! They are Olympian Champians!! So perfectly on time, so gracious and such two beautiful people skating to the perfect song. Love , Love, Love it💖💖💖
The sound of them skating on the ice is so satisfying
Yes! That really added even more depth to an already great performance. Something you don't hear on commercially televised ice performances.
Yes! 🎧
I love that sound of blade cutting into the ice on those deep edges, I'm glad it got captured here too, it made it much more real.
Has more feeling than 90% of Olympic performances.
I had the same thought!
I know it’s sad unfortunately but it’s only because in the olympics they focus more on technique.
Well, they're not worrying about technicality here, no pressure. It is beautiful though!!
Couldn't agree more. This was so beautiful, I'm holding back tears
The way that camera moves also helps to see that feeling, I think, it looks almost like a music video clip! Beautiful performance regardless :)
This is most definitely the most beautiful and enjoyable skating performance I have ever watched. No commentators, judges, talking, just their perfect skating and the sound of the ice. Amazing!
I agree, it's a great artistic expression in itself
They could be the next “Torvill and Dean”.
Just beautiful. Had to google them. Brother and sister. Great trust.
I originally thought they were a married couple, it turns out they’re a brother/sister team.
As a cameraman I am totally blown away, he/she was obviously involved in every step of the choreography. Stunning video ...... Props!
My thought exactly! That is all three parts know their craft perfectly. I wish the Olympics had camaramen like this :O
I'd like a 2nd camera to show the cameraman...lol
They have to do all that backwards with a camera...ha
As video journalist instead of being a camerawoman… i m mezmerized by the talent of the cam guy too 😍😍😍❤️🤯
I think it's a drone
It's nuts really how perfect this was filmed, from beginning to end.
Why is nobody talking about the pleasant sound of ice being cut by the skates. Never heard it before from professional ice dancers 😍
That´s what I thought, too. Everything in this video is just perfect. Except maybe the 2 or 3 people outisde the ice...If they would not have been there, the "dystopian-covid-vibe" would have been even better. But one can´t control everything ;_)
@@19Marc79 true haha
They are, it's just buried in the earlier comments! And I agree, that sound is bliss and helps make this video!
I think that sound shows just how much technical and hard work goes into the routine which looks graceful and effortless. 👍
Enjoying that sound means you're into ASMR. You're one of the lucky, not everyone feels it.
That's so true touched my heart ❤️
Присоединяюсь👍💕
Fantastici
THANK YOU for mentioning 'three!' Yes. There is absolutely no denying the powerful performance by the skaters. But the camera work was BRILLIANT, and I felt completely pulled into their performance because of it. I can only imagine how much time went into strategizing the camera positions and number of times practicing and performing to ensure the pure perfection which was executed!!! WOW!
This is your Best Performance ever...GREAT, GREAT 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The flow of their synchronicity and strength is heart-skip-a-beat gorgeous. The videography that puts we viewers on the ice with them is truly inspired. This is the prettiest thing I’ve seen in ages.
marti mcginnis well said!
You put in words the very feeling I had watching this, thanks!
Totally agree! Best ice skating I've seen probably EVER!
Everything I wanted to say!! 🙌💗
💯💖
You don't realize the athleticism involved when you watch it on TV. Love the sound of the skates carving through turns.
!!!
2 things people never thought would go together metallica and figure skating.
That is so true! lol
All music can be done anywhere ice sky water land look around plenty of people do things their way with their own type of music
Metallica actually performs with orchestras for charity fund raising annually most years... the music translates beautifully.

Can I say whoever filmed this is a genius
Kids are crazy-talented. Props to the camera tech. That's quite a take.
I don't know what's more impressive: their skills or the camera work. The comment section fully agrees, either way!
FANTASTYCZNIE!! Rewelacja, miałam ciarki. Cudownie. Wasza fanka z Polski.
Their synchronization is incredible and he seems so gentle and aware of her coming out of lifts - stunning talent.
Everyone’s talking about how great the figure skaters are, but can we just take a moment to think about how talented the camera man must be?
Definitely. I can barely walk without tripping!
I’m guessing it’s a robotic camera system.

The talent and the trust here? Untouchable.
I can’t even begin to imagine how exhilarating it must be to glide and jump across the ice while with someone you trust so much that you both are perfectly in sync with each other
Everything that comes to such a perfect moment with this fierce precise and beautiful dance is absolutely worthy because experimenting THAT
Indeed. They make it look incredibly easy
Just breath-taking. The skill. The music. The expressiveness. The choreography. The camera. All working together in the most exquisite way. I’m a huge skating fan and have never been so amazed by a skating performance. This just totally blew my mind. Well done, Oona and Gage. The sky’s the limit!
Well said, the performance was brilliant.
I’ve never seen a skating performance that amazing either. 🤩
I agree.
Wow. I thought it was just me that was blown away by this performance.✌😺
Braaaavo! Nothing else can be added! Both the sound track and the skating!
Camera person deserves an Oscar, but these guys deserve one each! Absolutely mesmerising, the sound of skates to ice takes you with them. Trust is king.

@@archechrystaline9704 We have to remember he is using a stabilzing gimbal to create these fluid and no vomit cam effect. You can't do type of footage with a cell phone or just a professional video/camera. It must be mounted on some type of gimbal. The footage would be too shaky and make some people feel nauseated. Being on skates of course helps with the stabilization of the footage.
I came to comment the same thing about camera operator. Has to know their choreography as much as them in order to be in the right place for the best shots and never be in the way or miss something
@@JamiesCryin1 absolutely. Team and trust.
@@m5zealot yep, signs of gimbal.... but skill and trust by the camera operator on choreography a must.
Amazing.
I have never been impressed by American skaters. I find them to be "cold".
However, this young couple is captivatingly awesome.

This performance got me through the pandemic and I still watch it periodically because it's just such artistry. Makes me fly!
3:13 Can we please talk about the fact, that he is holding her single handed while sliding on one foot
She is resting her foot on his thigh. He must have legs of iron.
Just makes me wonder how many times they practiced it
My god, yes

Absolutely beautiful!! I love sound of skate blades on the ice. Amazing!👏👏👏👏👏👏
amazing things about this routine:
- metallica
- oona and gage's talent and the obvious hard work they've put in
- flawless execution and complete confidence
- how quiet and peaceful the atmosphere is, no audience or judges, just the ice and the music
- everything about it is just beautiful
This is genius! Everything turned out: technical skill of performance, inspiration, music and atmosphere of the street, an amazing staging of a dance verified to every beat, perfect shooting of a live camera. You won't see this at official speeches.
Fantastic choreography! Talented!
Incredible... why is this so much better than TV coverage?
Because the camera person is actually on the ice with them instead of up in the stands. It’s an amazing routine, made even better by creative and involving camera work
Also, no annoying commentary 👍
Isnt so so good
@@ktfaye You'd have to completely insynce with their routines to know exactly where to stand.
But indeed, this was the best work so far, for performers being so young and the cameraman is excellent as well.
Camera work :3
This choreography by the Brown siblings was simply breathtaking.
And kudos to Jordan Cowan the cameraman.
I was thinking that the camerawork is just insane. I have never seen anything like it. Also are the skaters going 5 times faster than they would be in competition? It seems that way.
These dancers are once in a century and the camera work is just mind bogling! It was a journey into artistry!
This was spectacular. Their synchronicity is a beautiful flow.
Yes, they are so solid, as a kit time of training 👍👍
OUTSTANDING that was INCREDIBLE. How could anyone walk past them without being mesmerized? I could barely stand to look away to adjust my screen, They are amazing.. beautiful performance. Totally captivating. The rest of the world watches their skaters without fear. In the USA we're too busy being controlled like sheep with beaks and even hide on New Year's Eve - no ball drop in Time Square... But no problem in China and elsewhere.
I loved the fact that they weren't wearing costumes, which more often than not distracts from a performance rather than enhances it. The focus was totally on their art, not the bling.
Yeah, it was just them and their masterpiece. So much better.
And the constant non stop blabbering commentary that never ever ends that doesn’t really matter in the end
These kids are amazing! The passion, the skill! ❤❤
