There are no words to express the frustration I have from constantly wanting you to get rid of the french treaty ports. But the rest of the vid was a lot of fun.
I don't know if you have noticed this but Frances economy sky rockets because of the Indian treaty port. And because of how treaty ports work France can trade with the entire Britisch market for free. The moment you broke free they lost that ability hampering there growth by a lot.
Pondicherry being the reason for their success is a myth. The reason France skyrockets is because it has a huge population, very good laws from the start, and no large lacks of any kind of resource. France in game also doesn't suffer from the lowered population growth they experienced historically in this time period.
@@mainman879 Yeah, this is one big issue with the game's accuracy, it rests way more on laws and literacy than on urbanization which was in fact the primary drive of economic growth untill the late XXth century. France had a sizeable population that could more or less read and in many ways the most visionnary laws in Europe but its economy was still heavily rural and the countryside couldn't really accomodate more people because of the country's population density. French history in the XIXth century was mired by economical crisis often created by a rise in grain prices because of bad harvests. This issue would only be resolved in the last decades of the century when large scale urban industrial complexes would finally start to massively appear. On the other hand a larger country like Germany managed to grow a lot more and also imported most food it couldn't produce thus allowing for sustained demographical growth and continuous urbanization...
Hey Laith, if you ever start getting bored of vanilla Vicky, I recommend the Divergences mod. It's an alternate history overhaul were the English won the hundred years wars, Isabel of Castille married the prince of Portugal rather than Aragon, the Stuarts inherited the Kalmar Union, and Burgundy and the Commonwealth still exist. It's based of an old mod for Vicky II and it's still a work in progress but the old Divergence of Darkness mod was the best mod for Vicky II in my opinion and I am certain that Divergences will live up to that. The only other thing I'll mention is the Ming managed to set up colonies in California and Australia before exploding, those colonies are now the independent republics of Qingqiu and Zhourao. You got to check this mod out.
Now take revenge on America as the Indian Territories. I just want to see a good Indian Territories campaign. I want to see how you can make it work when you start as a landlocked puppet state. The only playthrough I have seen involved loading and reloading until they could get France to help them declare independance from the U.S, I want to see how you can do it on Iron Man mode.
@@PrettierNPastel Actually I think I figured it out. You start as the U.S., you fully annex the Indian Territories, then you release them as an independent and select "play as". You can't select "play as" when releasing a puppet or other subject nation which is why you need to annex them first. This can all be done in Iron Man mode. If that doesn't work then do what I actually did: Start as U.S., release Indian Territories, then release Cherokee and select play as, then conquer the Indian Territories, and release them and select "play as". I don't know why the above method wouldn't work when this does, but I do know that this does. Alternatively I suppose you could just take revenge on the U.S. as Cherokee or even Hindosaunee.
@@targetlockedgaming8349 The nation is called Indian Territories in game because that is what the U.S. historically called it when they created it as a place to put Native Americans. The only thing I actually referred to as "Indian" was that nation. Cherokee and Hindosaunee would indeed also be Native American nations (or "Indigenous Americans" as their cultural heritage is referred to as in game). I do wish that becoming independent from the U.S. would allow the nation to rename itself (perhaps as Oklahoma since they start off with most of Oklahoma state), but alas that is yet to be the case. For a gaming channel I find it weird that you would take issue with someone using an in game term.
@29:20 I don’t know if you figure this out later but is says “pops don’t have qualifications to become officers” Qualifications in a number primarily determined by literacy- and is irrelevent in European homelands due to pre/early industrial schooling and casual Protestant literacy but anyway - the way to boost it is a university which gives a modifier on qualifications gain %. And might increase literacy rate/equilibrium. Also. You often run with spare authority I recommend putting “social mobility “edict/decree on populous states as non-western powers. It increases literacy and qualifications and can really help catch you up in tech. As an extra note, literacy base rate is 2*SoL. So a 11 wealth pop will equilibrium to 22% literacy over time. An 18 wealth pop to 36%. Each level of public/charity schools adds 10% on top also. Then you’ve got universities and mobility edicts on top which aren’t strictly necessary. But what this does/might mean is universities are the only building you want to disperse across provinces, rather than centralise in a single state and get the throughput bonus on.
The law itself isn't very interesting. It just removes political parties. This was pretty cool. France improving a lot but then later imploding was interesting. Here's two suggestions for other runs: As Prussia/Germany dominate Europe but stay friendly with your (later) cousins meaning England and Russia as long as they are at least parliamentary monarchy and stay monarchist yourself.
