Perennial sports titles were always those games that ended up in pawn shops by the stack. The ones I used to frequent for used games would have signage posted that they didn't take sports games, because they could never get rid of them.
Good review. I picked this up back in the day on the back of good magazine reviews. Loved it back then, great memories. I never bothered with footy games before SWWS 97 and have never really bothered with them since, lol. Although i did have ISS pro on the N64, which I also really enjoyed. That's pretty much it as far as footy games go for me. I probably only picked them up as there may not have been much else out at the time, lol. Glad that was the case to be honest, they're good games that i wouldn't have otherwise picked up 😊.
This was a great game back in the day, re-watching some footage and it's clear that it's aged a bit like milk. The commentary on the sequel was even worse, it was barely passable in the first game tbh. I personally love the soundtrack, very classic SEGA. Sounds like SST - their house band. Good video BTW
Solid and fantastic game and definately the best looking when it was released (ISS Pro and ISS64 came at the same time and they didnt look as good). SWWS98 had not only more teams but also better dual commentary and better AI so the gameplay is more refined and its the definitive version to own and the best Saturn football game along with World League Soccer 98.
Hello Game shack my name is Isaiah and I have something important to say to you. God loves you and like any father he wants to help you and keep you safe especially from the devil. But I am not just speaking to you about this I am also talking to your fans about this. God loves us all and he wants us all to be saved not just from ourselves but from the devils clutches. Do not be afraid to come to the Lord for his love is for evreyone Shalom Shalom.

Me and my brother played this game all the time. Solid game!

@retroblitz3533 think it was a 99p game when I got it years back! 😂
Got this and Sega rally with my second hand Saturn last year. Sega rally was obviously the better get
@@superRuan1990 Sega Rally still plays so well now!

To me this is a perfect pick up and play arcade style footballer and up there with Sensible Soccer for fun. SWWS98 wasn't as fun.
it was better in some regards cause they had officially licensed players though.

@isaiahjolin7178 Myself and the Lord almighty don't see things the same way.
Have you played Konami's J. League Striker on the Sega Saturn?
@MCHeyStoopid Yes, last week! Too much Japanese text though...
@@gameshack1985 I think it plays more fluid than WWS97 despite the worse presentation. There's also J. League Go Go Goal by Tecmo.
