The haz mat refers to commercial loads, known as a “reportable quantity”. So, usually tunnels are restricted to fuel trucks, tankers filled with flammable materials. Your little propane tank is not what they are concerned about.
Carolyn, I think you are a wonderful writer/story teller. That is why I keep coming back to watch you. That and your honesty, you're a genuine person. It doesn't matter if I agree with you all the time. You express yourself without tramping on others' toes.
I know you can't do 54-minute videos on a regular basis, but I just want you to know how much I enjoyed this one. I hated to see it end. I especially liked the simple cooking shots interspersed with nature scenes. Two more years for me, and I can be on the road as well. Thank you for your channel! 😊
Yes, please! More like this! I lovelovelove the sound of rain; thunder is a bonus. It's like a lullaby to me. And the peepers. Oh, how I miss the east coast! Your writing instructor gave you good advice, but whoever taught you video/photography was a genius. Thank you so much for bringing us along.
According to the Live Oak Society the oldest southern live oak is believed to be the Seven Sisters Oak located in Mandeville, Louisiana, with an estimated age of between 500-1000 years.
"Skeeters" are the state bird. I love that state. Took my boys camping there. Dont remember what campground, but it was family-run, and people were SO nice. Little tip for the state bird: Citronella candles. Works GREAT. We camped in a tent. Boys LOVED IT!!
I only live a few hours from where you were in Louisiana. Those are Live Oak trees.... aren't they awesome? We have a younger one in our backyard but they can live for a hundred years.
Loved this video!!! Carolyn you show amazing areas. Love your narrations, destinations and style. This vid is a year old so now I know what to expect in LA Happy trails.
What a great video Carolyn. The trees the rain and showing us who have never traveled to the bayou what a beautiful place. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey. ❤
Im from Louisiana, but living in Tucson until next May. I really miss the rain, so your video brought back a lot of memories for me, Rain brings me tranquillity and the thunder excitement.
I agree with you, but living here in SW Louisiana if I have to deal with another hurricane (and at 63 I'm too old for this), I'll trade places with you in Arizona. We had back to back hurricanes in 2020. Can't deal with this again.
Words can’t say how much of enjoyment to watch… The bugs, sounds, rain,oh ❤those trees I’m tree lover anyhow, but you did such an excellent job, on this video. So much to learn and it’s free. Some of the places seem beautiful, but haunting at the same time. Thank you
What a wonderful video. I love the swamps, too. So beautiful and full of life. You picked a good time to go. Summers are unbearable down there. Love listening to the rain and the birds. So relaxing
Strange, I haven’t had a video of yours pop up in my feed for months. I’m glad this one did! It was fantastic! I don’t know how you slept with that roar of rain on the roof of your RV! If we had that much rain here in Southern California, that would be enough rain for a year, and it would flood! I’m looking forward to going back and looking at all the videos I missed! Looks like you and Sadie are having a great trip! Thanks!
A trick I learned, when tent camping in downpour rain, is to puts candles in a deep pot and let it burn all night… no matter how hot it is, because the flame will dry up the humidity and it will feel more comfortable.💜
This is an instant Classic Carolyn video for me. Thank you for highlighting the serenity of the park. I may not always comment, but I'm always watching and enjoying. Here's to a safe and prosperous New Year for us all
I love the video, especially the scenery thank you for sharing. I live in Louisiana and I love seeing the beautiful trees and people enjoying the nature.
I agree with the other comments, you found a peaceful spot to stay with so much nature around you. Just glad you didn't get flooded out during the storm. I wanted to mention something else about your video and that is that I love how you move the camera slowly, letting us really enjoy the scenic beauty and not feeling like you are in a hurry to finish. Also I have a vertigo problem that can kick in just from someone moving the camera too quickly but I had no problem with yours. I love the Live Oak trees too. I first "met" them when I lived in beautiful Austin, TX. for a year and a half.
07:39 pm Hi I love your videos so much! I’m very sick right now and this video made me feel better! This is the kind of walk I used to take in Lynchburg VA. We would look at old houses. Your videos have helped me for a long time!! I’m disabled and so happy to feel as if I am on a walk with you and Sadie! I was so excited to see you in the the movie as well!! Love your channel 🥰
You just traveled through one of my favorite routes, Carolyn! Coming from the Prairie State of Illinois, everything in the south just fascinates me! You never get to see Spanish Moss in Western Illinois, I'll tell ya that! Every part of our country is just beautiful, and the longer I live (I'm 71 now), the more I appreciate how lucky I was to be born in the USA!
I just watched your live Baja video & since you mentioned this one in your live, I came back to watch it again. This is a great video that in an understated way allows everyone to experience what this environment feels & looks like, & your photography skills are awesome 👏🏻 📷
February 25, 2024 I am watching from Irving Texas near Dallas and this is the first time I saw you all your videos and I really enjoy them. You do a great job of explaining what you’re filming filling us in on historic backgrounds and just overall very enjoyable video thank you so much❤
Just needed to say. I loved Your video. I was born & raised in South. Louisiana. Bayou. Country. I. Love it. Yes & all those beautiful Oak trees. I never get tired of seeing them. ❣️
That was an awesome adventure. Beautiful too but I think I’d be too afraid to walk through areas that close to water. Thanks for taking me along for the ride
Ahhh, Louisiana. I enjoyed my time there. Very atmospheric, steeped in history with a haunting aura. The beautiful Spanish moss hanging from the trees, the rain, the hurricanes and hurricane parties, the taping of windows in preparation for hurricanes, and I met some very interesting and engaging people. Cajuns living across a swamp, making boudin sausage and their warm hospitality, but they don't accept just anyone into their very private homes, only accessible via a pirot (flat boat). People speaking English with a charming patois, a Louisiana accent. The older people speaking French, a friend with a very old upstairs apartment in the French Quarter, with a balcony made of beautiful wrought iron. Watching the "crews" go by with a bird's eye view from the apartment during Mardi Gras. The incredible jazz cafes, the incomparable Cajun cuisine, and the swamp. Visiting the old, preserved plantations that are now B&Bs. The Cafe Du Monde at 7:30 am, parking at the Farmer's Market so you'd be able to find a parking space, the Cafe Du Monde chicory coffee, the wonderful beneits (sp?), ie, donuts, the best I've ever had. The oyster po-boy sandwiches which became my favorite food. The beautiful Quarter, taking you back to the time when it was an important cultural and trading center of America. Interestingly, I really felt at home there. Ahhh, Beautiful Louisiana. I'll always love you and your unique culture and beautiful people. It truly is like being in a different country.
Hey Carolyn and Sadie just watched you on my Google TV on the bayou haven't seen you guys in so long really missed you now not as busy as I was so I can watch more often. Love that oak tree you guys are looking well take care stay safe and God bless you both
Thank you for this. It nourished my soul. The Southern Live Oak Trees were breathtaking. There is something haunting about the Louisiana Bayou that I love ❤️🎉
What a great video on Louisiana topography, environment, culture, & history. I lived there for 40+ yrs. I returned home to Pensacola almost 8 yrs ago. Hugs to Sadie. Thank you for sharing your experience w/us. Be careful, be blessed.
Carolyn that old house is called a shotgun house. So many houses are around like that. Love the trees! This is such a zen video and my favorite so far! Take care!
Carolyn, you amaze me. I’m from Louisiana and find the bayou a bit scary. I like your Fearless sweatshirt. So true. You continue to be an inspiration. ❤
Alright I-10 West. Makes me feel like I’m the one, coming home. Love your new calendar, it has great pictures. Love sleeping in the rv during a rain storm, cozy as all get out. Happy New Year 🙏🎉
This one brings back a lot of fond Louisiana memories. We bought our sailboat in Florida in 1999 and spent several months taking her back to Texas along the Intracoastal Waterway. We spent a long time in Louisiana, including anchoring overnight in several bayous and close to the Barataria Waterway (including an anchorage next to a cemetery!). An epic adventure. I've never seen so many kinds of commerical large boats, tugs, barges, locks, bridges, and seaplanes. So glad you enjoyed your adventures in the bayou areas! Louisiana waterways are definitely a bucket list item.
Those trees are usually where there's water i live in NC by the lumber river they're in my yard and all along the river they're everywhere here on the coast. My friend who's from New Jersey but now lives in Appalachia VA came to visit she took bunches of photos of them. She's a fellow u tuber that's how we met. Happy new year & safe travels.
Woo hoo I just found you again! So happy you are still out and about. I missed you. I’m happy you stay more often in a camp site just so much safer and less stressful. Wishing you happy trails and I look forward to more adventures! Pam
Sadie seemed calm that’s good probably because you are calm. My two pitties RV with me and seem to have handled the winds and rain storms pretty good so far
Great program as always. Showing life as it really is,both the good and not so good. No one does it better then you. And yes the longer videos are much desired, keep it up. And may this year be your best one yet.
This was so beautiful and peaceful. Also, a feast for the ears - loved the sound of the insects and the rain. The vegetation around there is absolutely fascinating! I think I prefer it without leaves so the gnarly, tangled branches were at their best. Those live oaks!!! Cheers from Oregon. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
I loved this video!!!! The longer ones with your “life” - cooking, cleaning, playing, hiking… yes! I am so looking forward to getting back on the road! All that rain … had to take a potty break (tmi/lol😊)
I just ran across your videos and love them! I love the way you show the beautiful surroundings and even show the peaceful rain. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go next. I subscribed right away ❤
They may have pulled you over for something as simple as not maintaining lane. But due to the heightened aleart our county is on he certainly had no ill will. I'll bet ya, dimes to donuts, those trees end up as the December Calendar picture next year.

I was told to go to Crowley
The free night thing was southern hospitality 💜
Then why didn't they just say that? That's not hospitality

What a great video Carolyn. The trees the rain and showing us who have never traveled to the bayou what a beautiful place. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey. ❤
You should come! I've lived here all my life and I love it. Except in the summer it is extremely hot. So plan your trip accordingly.

I am going to take a still shot of one of those trees and paint a tiny canvas for you. They are incredible!! Amazing video.
Beautiful part of the country. I really do love those massive trees. And that cute Sadie as always.
I like the longer content. Loved all the scenery! Thank you for sharing the sounds of the area too!
I'm so happy to read that you enjoyed it! Thank you!
😊I love the way Sadie stops as soon as you ask. You trained her well. It would be very lonely without her company.
What a wonderful video. I love the swamps, too. So beautiful and full of life. You picked a good time to go. Summers are unbearable down there. Love listening to the rain and the birds. So relaxing

Those are Live Oaks. They are protected. The oldest one is in New Orleans. They call it the tree of Life. It's somewhere around 4 or 500 years old.
Nice video thanks ❤
All that stuff hanging from the branches, we in Australia and New Zealand call that Old man’s Beard. Looks so pretty.
Loved the lacey leaf!
Great sound track also!

You're suggesting I visit a place where people were enslaved, beaten and raped because of its beauty... no thanks
I really enjoyed. Thank you
