The amount of disrespect from Studio Clown knows no bounds. Root A would have been so much better if hey had followed Ishida's drafts. This, is betrayal of the highest degree. If Tokyo Ghoul has been given to another studio like Madhouse it would have been a masterpiece for both seasons 1 and 2

I know that some of these arent that bad but didnt follow the manga til the end god and I know that some have reasons for fillers but cant the episodes be not recaps but trivia about voice actors or the author talking about his work instead of an interview I know that might sound boring and is better to read but I dont know it is better hell even ask the author to make a small filler gap without it messing with the manga

It really annoyed me that in the anime Ken killed him. It didn't suit him to kill him just like that and in the manga when I read for myself it was Ken who left him and only ate his Kagune form Kakuja to make him stronger and defeat Aogiri.
Same thing with Ken Kaneki hating ghouls and becoming one. It's not about hatred but fear he was afraid and that's it but people always perceive everything in that way.

He probably reads a lot since he is very knowledgeable. He also draws illustrations for the Tokyo Ghoul Calendar thing. He worked on the illustrations for S2 of Tokyo Ghoul.

Right but none of that is all that had all that much gore. Kaneki's eye sockets were essentially just blacked out (not censored of course, but it wasn't detailed in the sense of seeing the ripped flesh and nerves). Tsukiayam's meals were prepared in such a fashion as to look like actual meals. They reminded me more of Hannibal than some kind of gore situation. Most severed heads in the series just have some blood dripping from the necks. Not exactly all that gory.

This is why I'm praying that we get a FMAB-Type of redo of Tokyo Ghoul. Truly praying that Bones gets it. It's honestly the only studio I trust with this anime in all aspects. Madhouse is a close second, I'm just worried about OST choice for it tho.
As pissed as I am, I have hope that this series will get the Brotherhood treatment a few years down the line by a real studio.

That really is a shame. Root A had so many loose ends that could be noticed by anyone, things that were never really resolved or emphasised on enough and left in the air, and probably all of that wouldn't have been if they had stuck with Ishida's plans.
Funny it was supposed to be about Aogiri in Season 2, but there was so little done with that and it just felt like the end of Tokyo Ghoul's manga with some revisions to the plot.

When I first heard that the anime would take an original route I was legit excited because I knew it had to be better than trying to adapt the rest of the manga. And I was right.

Studio Pierrot was sold a 12 episode slot by the network so they did not have much room to work with. That is why Kaneki is practically nonexistent. If Pierrot had waited for a 24 episode slot to open, then season 2 would have been better.

Zack Allen Season 1 was ok adaption wise. They fucked a few things but overall it wasn't too bad, after all it was what got he into TG. They completely fucked up Root A. Even if was supposed to be anime original is was a complete failure in my (and my other dedicated fans') eyes. The manga will give you much more story,character development and growth and expands upon it in TG:re. Overall a much better TG experience, and this is coming from a person that usually prefers anime to manga 90% of the time.
Yeah the anime is so rushed and season 2 just doesn't follow at all. Start from chapter 1 if you do read and if you like it read Tokyo Ghoul:re which is the sequel.
chibi, you aren't even looking at it through the studio's side. They can't be animating scenes with cannabilism to be aired at prime time. As you said, they animated some of the stuff then axed it, THERE MUST BE A REASON TO WHY THEY DID THAT ! it can either be time restraints, or money restraints, broadcasting restraints, or even laws preventing them to use it (cause japan has loads of laws that censors this stuff). Maybe they're afraid that it would be like Akame ga kill turned out (censored as fuck in Japan, thus affecting the manga sales). We can't be looking at this from only one perspective. For all we know, maybe Ishida told them to cut it out.

I like root A but I feel bad for Ishida that they threw away his drafts for Touka seeing hungry rize and kaneki forcefully eating someone. These scenes would have made TG Root A even more good. I mean, in the starting episodes, I always felt something missing about Kaneki.

Chibi Reviews That's what he said. He was working 300 pages of it and drawing the ending illustrations while he was doing a weekly manga, which made him cry from the stress, but he said it was a good learning experience.
He said when he talked about how he felt about the anime and how he liked it etc. but it was sad that they had to cut out some interesting parts from his draft.
(That's why they've released the Book with the drafts now, and it's actually selling really well)

I had heard Ishida was over seeing season 2 but I had no idea Studio Pierrot pretty much ignored his ideas/etc!! This pisses me off on so many levels because Ishida-sensei and HIS series deserved better treatment to begin with! Those drafts Ishida did really sounded amazing and I would have loved to seen them animated (but Studio Pierrot probably would've found some other way to fuck up these scenes tbh). Yomo is one of my favorite characters in TG so I would've loved to see the scene of him rescuing Rize and his words to Kaneki... Gaaah this is so frustrating.
Some of these animation studios really need to start sitting down with the creators of these awesome series!! If you want to change something you should ask the creator first, not just do whatever and ignore the creators who have put hours upon hours of hard work into these stories!!
