    so i am having alot of issues with this external battery. i tried the SmallRig 99vb battery and it doesnt recognize the battery then i ordered this FXLion and yet it still doesnt recognize the battery. do you know if there is some setting i have to make in order for it to recognize the power source do you know?

      @@bhagyarsx how are you plugging it up usb-c or dummy battery. If usb-c, you still have to have the real battery in camera and the usb-c cable has to be one that supports power delivery. If you are using dummy battery into vmount battery then make sure you are using the right dummy battery and adapter wire to vmount hookup. Nothing special to do in settings. Fxlion and USBC should work fine, make sure u have battery in camera and plug the usb-c cable in. Turn camera on , if it's not working then u should try another cable perhaps

      @AnthonyCrouchPhotography it's usbc. I even got a 100w usbc cable and still nothing. So I ordered the dtap dummy battery yesterday and it's coming today so hopefully that works. Crazy it's a brand new camera and having these issues. I've looked up some forums on reddit and a few ppl had this same issue. Seems like just some cameras happen but not all.

    Look...I didnt want to fuss. But it is ridiculous that you have power for 8K60 in the title and thats not even in the video. It absolutely could use more power than the 4k settings bc it will also be running the continuous autofocus on the camera. We all clicked on this for.....Power for 8k60 using USB.....and nothing.

      Both options will fully power 8k60, sorry that was clear to hundred plus people who thumbs upped and not you.

    So hot swap is possible in video mode, but not in photo mode. Just confirmed with my R5 C. Thanks Anthony! I'm using a SaFuel 45w PD.

    Hi Tony, I just my R5C and your video really helps. now i wanted ask you where can I get that port protector you're using or what ever it's called lol, since I don't know the specific name I can't find it . thanks

    • @AnthonyCrouchPhotography
      @AnthonyCrouchPhotography  Рік тому

      Hi Anthony, thanks for watching. The protector I use is the Canon one that comes with the camera. I wanted to mention that I will be putting a video out soon talking about where I ended up and what I now use the most for a power solution. I use the power base the most. I rarely use the Anker as it is much too bulky. I mainly now use the Core SWX PowerBase Edge Lite 49Wh. It gives me about 4.5 hrs at 24p. The Core SWX PowerBase Edge Link 70wh is nice too and will give about 6 hrs at 24p

      Very nice. That's a nice battery. I am using the power base the most. Upgraded from a swx core edge lite 39wh to an Anton Titon 68wh power base. Caught it on sale $150 off on Bhphoto.com few weeks back

    why will you need to swap out the battery while using the Anker PD? Does the R5c uses the battery while using the Anker PD simateanously?

    • @AnthonyCrouchPhotography
      @AnthonyCrouchPhotography  Рік тому

      In truth, you will not need to most of the time if at all. It was just my attempt to point out that you could.. that the anker does run it without the battery. hypothetical situation, battery is low, need to keep filming, cant swap the batter out, plug up Anker PD, but oh wait Anker PD only has about 20-30 minutes of power left and you need to keep filming another 45 minutes, well no problem, once Anker is almost depleted, since camera is running on Anker, go ahead and swap that depleted battery out with fresh one. You switched from battery to anker back to battery all without stopping the film session. This is the gist of what I was trying to communicate, it is possible to do this hot swap if you ever need to for whatever reason. How often would you need to, probably never but you could... ;p my apologies if it confused you

    amazon has many 1 star rating for that ankar power bank dying and some refusing to replace them if not bought directly from them, pity as it looks like a great solution . the IndiPRO Tools D-Tap to LP-E6 Dummy Battery Cable says 2A on B and H but 3A is needed for R5c according to canons R5c cable compared to 2A for R5

    What's the runtime with the Anker Powercore battery at 8K 60fps?

    • @AnthonyCrouchPhotography
      @AnthonyCrouchPhotography  2 роки тому

      8k60 . Did not test it but I would bet approx 5 hrs. There is big difference in power usage between 24fps and 60fps but not as much between 4k and 8k. Keep in mind the 4k is still recording a 8k signal and downsizing to 4k. I am only guessing.

    Hi and good evening Anthony. I have this power bank and it works brilliantly for charging my iPhone and air pods, but I'm using it to try and charge my canon R10 that I just purchased 3 weeks ago, whilst out shooting. I can charge my R10 if I plug the USB "C" straight into the mains with the light staying on green and turning off once the battery is charged. BUT if I connect the USB "C" to the R10 from the Anker, no light comes on and it doesn't charge as I found out because the battery only lasted 35 minutes when out shooting.
    I am turning the camera off when charging as well as also leaving it on just to test both, but it makes no difference. I've now got 2 spare genuine Canon batteries and I've tested the Anker to charge them both up as well but no luck, but they charged in the camera when connected to a mains outlet. Any suggestions as to why the Anker is not charging the batteries in the R10 would be much appreciated. Do I need a special rated USB "C" cable like a 3.0.
    Many thanks in advance Anthony for any help you can give.

      @AnthonyCrouchPhotography  Рік тому +1

      Do you have the exact version Anker? If not compare the two. Mine came with a faster charger plug and USB-C cable. If yours did not and then you may need a better cable. This one looks heavy duty, very thick, not sure what it is rated. The link in the video description above should take you to the exact kit I bought and maybe have more details on the cable. Probably not much help but best wishes.

      @@AnthonyCrouchPhotography many thanks for your reply, I never received a cable and I’m thinking that the cable is my answer. I’ve ordered the same one so hopefully that will help. I will admit that the Anker is really well built and feels like it will outlast me,!that’s for sure, so I feel that my issue is definitely not the gadget but probably is the cable 100 percent.
      Thanks again and much appreciated,
      Terry
