That's why I like ruby more she doesn't have much screentime neither she has any useful knowledge from her past life like Aqua who was a grown up mature doctor before but whatever she's doing just as pure ruby no Sarina is there in it thats why difference between aqua's and ruby's planning has great differences with or without considerations besides both Aqua and ruby is calculative but ruby's calculations are something I didn't expected from her character literally the power of her father's genes 😅

Yo the end of Rubys arc where she figured why be close to the assistant director and wait till he promoted when she could just get to the director now? by masterminding everything solidified my respect for her character. To me, I’ve never actually seen Aqua manipulate people simply for his gain. He always ends up taking the blame or caring too much like with Akane, who was legit willing to murder for him. I’ve never seen him just be completely selfish and cold the way Ruby had been in that moment; she was like the Devil appearing as an Angel of help when she caused everything! I was blown away.

I don't know if you read the manga but many times he kept on saying he will do everything himself while using anything he can. Yes he use them but he also trying to protect them, during Akane break up he is using her to find his father. Akane know Aqua is using her but she sad because she cannot help Aqua to kill his dad. Aqua told her he will take care of it and isolate himself from Akane after he got the information from Akane.
In the latest chapter it was mentioned that ruby lacks the talent for acting. Maybe that’s why aqua told frill to somehow get ruby the lead role so hikaru doesn’t pull off anything?

Yeah, I agree with this. Ruby got way darker the first time, but then Aqua went deeper once he realized revenge wasn’t finished yet. I do think they’ll find the light eventually, but it might be harder for Aqua who lived his entire life in the darkness 😔
Aqua still as an older man feels responsibility with his actions so he accepts the problems that come with it and plans accordingly, however when she's giving into revenge, she's let's herself power trip like "she's got this" and so her plans don't take into account those respectable parameters that make Aqua change it up and understand the wrong he's doing, she's more blinded to it, and aqua has long since accepted it as a child so yes Ruby can be more heartless and cold, because deep down she's still a child who's living out her wildest dreams only to have two traumas yet again rip it away from her

Thing is you're right but most people miss that somehow. Everything that happens is because of Ruby/Sarina. Gorou loved Ai because of Sarina. He went down this path because he felt like he failed Sarina because he couldn't save her. Aqua's whole revenge path is because of Sarina. Ai died and he felt like he failed to protect Sarina's love.

I think it’s Ruby didn’t get much development for a while, so she’s been trailing behind Akane and Kana unfortunately who already have a large fan base. I feel like she’s getting more recognition now at least.
@ZephyrRetro most of her development was in the first episode. And they kept sprinkling her past in s1 and later on in the Manga. But as I always say, you don't need alot of development to be a great character. Her writing alone is top tier. Her arc alone gave her development a big boost and that last chapter definitely should boost her popularity.

it impresses me everytime how there are people so twisted and evil that they know how to manipulate others just the way they want things to be. Something i still have to learn even more.
I think eventually they will find out about their past lives and make peace. If they joined forces and stopped being stubborn they could bring Hikaru to justice. In fact, if they were open to all of the people in their lives they could have more support than by scheming and utilizing people as mere tools for a goal. If that were to take place in the final arc(s) it would be a very satisfying thematic payoff. It breaks the established consensus that lies are love. Because they're really not. They're an impediment to attaining real love.
Once they learn about the other’s past life, I believe they make peace with each other as well. I think you bring up a good thematic point as well. If they stop lying to others, they could have a larger group to support their ambitions, which would be an excellent payoff. Like I’m sure a lot of the characters we’ve met already that are close to the siblings would be willing to help them achieve their ambitions, Rather than Aqua being self destructive.
However knowing aka akasaka this will be a hard to achieve goal for Aqua, it may possibly have the same impact of Ai's death if done right Edit: It would be great for us to finally see GENUINE love being reciprocated by seeing them like this though
Creepy smile with that reusable dialogue "I am going to use everyone as a tool" obviously doesn't make him badass considering how dumb he is to connect simple dots to solve his father's death unless some side characters have to knock some senses on him besides akane did the most important and major part in the show her intelligence can be called quite higher she just need to stop being emotional besides don't forget she never corrected Aqua's misunderstanding of his father's death but still carried out the whole process of investigation all alone as an individual so no matter how much villain this siblings get they're still nowhere near to akane this two still on quite same range except Aqua has past life advantages and got most screen time compare to ruby.
I think it would be I think it would be interesting to make a video about the most powerful oshi no ko characters the reason why I think it would be interesting is because how complex power in this series is you could define power as who has the most powerful connections or maybe you could define power in pure acting or strategic skill overall I think it would be interesting to find out who's the strongest character overall because there are so many variables that make a strong character in this series.

That’s a fair point. Ruby is still a child at heart too while Aqua really doesn’t believe he has anything to live for besides revenge. He lived his entire life for that one goal. Not to say Ruby can’t still pursue revenge, but she’s more likely to get stopped or saved before completely losing herself, unlike Aqua, who is already pretty much gone off the deep end lel

I think eventually they will find out about their past lives and make peace. If they joined forces and stopped being stubborn they could bring Hikaru to justice. In fact, if they were open to all of the people in their lives they could have more support than by scheming and utilizing people as mere tools for a goal. If that were to take place in the final arc(s) it would be a very satisfying thematic payoff. It breaks the established consensus that lies are love. Because they're really not. They're an impediment to attaining real love.
Once they learn about the other’s past life, I believe they make peace with each other as well. I think you bring up a good thematic point as well. If they stop lying to others, they could have a larger group to support their ambitions, which would be an excellent payoff. Like I’m sure a lot of the characters we’ve met already that are close to the siblings would be willing to help them achieve their ambitions, Rather than Aqua being self destructive.
However knowing aka akasaka this will be a hard to achieve goal for Aqua, it may possibly have the same impact of Ai's death if done right
Edit: It would be great for us to finally see GENUINE love being reciprocated by seeing them like this though

Creepy smile with that reusable dialogue "I am going to use everyone as a tool" obviously doesn't make him badass considering how dumb he is to connect simple dots to solve his father's death unless some side characters have to knock some senses on him besides akane did the most important and major part in the show her intelligence can be called quite higher she just need to stop being emotional besides don't forget she never corrected Aqua's misunderstanding of his father's death but still carried out the whole process of investigation all alone as an individual so no matter how much villain this siblings get they're still nowhere near to akane this two still on quite same range except Aqua has past life advantages and got most screen time compare to ruby.

I think it would be I think it would be interesting to make a video about the most powerful oshi no ko characters the reason why I think it would be interesting is because how complex power in this series is you could define power as who has the most powerful connections or maybe you could define power in pure acting or strategic skill overall I think it would be interesting to find out who's the strongest character overall because there are so many variables that make a strong character in this series.

I don't think Ruby can be more darker than aqua as she still pure of heart even if she want revenge on like aqua that has more experience and wanted to kill when he was little.
That’s a fair point. Ruby is still a child at heart too while Aqua really doesn’t believe he has anything to live for besides revenge. He lived his entire life for that one goal. Not to say Ruby can’t still pursue revenge, but she’s more likely to get stopped or saved before completely losing herself, unlike Aqua, who is already pretty much gone off the deep end lel
