      @@IanM-id8or Maximus isnt in charge. Sure he may have been elevated to Knight via mob rule, but that Elder Cleric would be the one "in Charge" and I dont see him "improving" things with the brotherhood. all he will / would do is run it as he wanted, and that sounds like NOT for the better. and in a general sense, the promise waas kept. the brotherhood did go and attack the group that stole Lucy's dad. so while it wasnt how they agreed on how it would happen, ""Maximus calling himself Knight Titus" was not in a position of authority with the Brotherhood so assigning other Knights to help Lucy wouldnt be capable. but the Brotherhood did attack the group that took Lucy's dad, so in a round about way, the promise was fullfilled.

    Don't know if you noticed it since you didn't mention it during the reaction, but the last scene where Hank is crossing the desert it's New Vegas he's heading to. It was spelled out more in the credit animated montage (which you should actually have watched since they all had lots of easter eggs and clues for each episode). Season 2 will definitely cover New Vegas.
    Also don't know if you knew, but the Fallout TV Series is Canon to the Games timeline. The TV Series occurs 9 years after the events of Fallout 4 and 15 years after Fallout: New Vegas.

    Which indicates that he's not insane, he doesn't *think* he's the character from his TV show, but rather he's *playing a character* in order to survive, and he drops the act either when nobody else is watching, or when something really matters to him.

    Don't forget, as shown in E1, Coop and his wife were divorced, so he was no longer eligible to go into her vault. If he is asking about his family, then more than likely she was prepared to snag her daughter when the bombs fell. Previous Fallout lore states the Chinese were responsible for the bombs, so the scene where she states they could just drop the bomb themselves could have just been to show how far they were willing to go.

      I guess that part of "who dropped the bomb" will not be explicitly confirmed anytime soon; but a lot of theories and elements seem to point in the direction that Vaultec MAY be the ones to blame.
      So far, some of the elements used to back this fan theory (that I find interesting) are that in some chronicles of the final day, the times when the bombs fall don't match (it's still unclear if this is because the game didn't put much thought into it, first; or the times don't match on purpose), that in Episode 1 you don't see typical smoke trails associated with ICBMs or missiles heading to a target and that most significant impacts (and even the first explosion of Episode 1) show craters forming and the floor going up... this means the bombs exploded underground, not in the air (as it would normally be used in warfare and in a regular attack). Again, all these elements could be clues hidden in plain sight... or oversights/exaggerations of the designers to make cool scenarios and visuals that have no other hidden meaning.
      In any case, we the audience are left to wonder if that phrase just means resolve... or we just got a partial confirmation of a big piece of lore they are adding/revealing in this format.

    I think an important detail to note from the first episode is that Coop/Ghoul was reduced to doing kids parties but they also mentioned he’s paying alimony. Eluding to a divorce and it could be possible that his wife took in his daughter and not him. Or I have a feeling Coop might have been let in but didn’t like that management was pods and not as he sold it. He could’ve been thrown out and that’s how he tuned into the ghoul (long exposure to radiation). I think it’s also possible his wife is in 31 where Norm is.

      Another thing that comes to mind is because the bombs fell while Cooper and his daughter were outside a vault, then it implies that it wasn't Vault Tech who launched the nukes since Barb wouldn't have done so without first her daughter being in safety. Vault 31 was for the middle management vault experiment. Upper management is most likely in New Vegas. The daughter being with Coop at the birthday party makes me wonder if Vault-Tec actually dropped the bombs or if the wife saying "...drop the bombs ourselves", is to make you believe they did. If she was upper management, I would believe she would have been aware of when the bombs would drop and would have the daughter with her at that time. Her and Coop were divorced/separated at the time in the first episode so I wouldn't think she would have knowingly green-lit dropping the bombs if the daughter wasn't with her.

      Yep, Bud's Buds were "up and coming" execs, not the top execs like Barb.
      My thought on "who dropped the bomb" is that while Vault Tec was certainly willing to do it (they were that evil), this issue probably indicates they didn't. No way Barb would have let her daughter be out in the world if she knew Armageddon was coming.

    • @ianbaker672
      @ianbaker672 17 годин тому

      If vault tec didn't drop the first bomb, I bet that their willingness to do so did. Cooper probably told Moldaver what he learned, and that info could have made its way to China, who probably has its own post war contingency and wants to speed up the process so that they get the upper hand.

    • @munkeypantsman
      @munkeypantsman 16 годин тому +4

      It's certainly suspicious that Barb would not have her daughter with her if she knew the bombs were going to drop. The lore has always kept it vague as to who actually dropped the first bomb, and I hope it remains that way.

      Which makes me wonder... Did he drop the daughter off, become a ghoul, come back some time later, and find out they're not in the same location, somehow? I'm trying to figure how where he could've dropped her off, mid-nuclear apocalypse, where she could then later be moved somewhere else. Either that or maybe Vault-Tec came after her afterwards and tore the two of them apart. Or maybe they just told him that they could cure any rads she had and make sure she was safe and so Coop just gave her up.

We've seen in the opening of Fallout 4 that Vault-Tec has a list of who is and is not permitted in each vault before the bombs drop, with armed guards strictly enforcing it, so I'm sure the daughter was on a list and Coop was removed from it, or something along those lines.

    Interesting tidbit, the TV show and games were confirmed by the showrunners and Todd Howard (Bethesda Games Director of Fallout 3 and 4) to exist in the same universe. In the games, it was always alluded that the wasteland came into being due to a nuclear war between China and the U.S.. • @tekcomputers
      @tekcomputers 11 годин тому

      I've always speculated from the timeline that Robco was involved in the bomb drops, because they had acquired complete control of the software running the launch and detection systems over the few years prior. It plays better in the timeline because the time from launch detection of China's missiles to initial strikes is off, and it aligns better with the timeline from the US's own launches being the triggering even with China's launches actually being retaliatory.
      Basically I think it plays out this way:
      Robco spends a few years acquiring software vendors who have access to the launch and detection systems.
      This consortium triggers a launch intent when things are alligned
      Robco's access to the system allows them to insert false launch detections into the US system.
      US forces respond to these launch detections, going up the chain trigging POTUS to issue order for retaliation strikes.
      US Lauinches its missiles
      China detecting the US launches responds with launch order of their own, the missiles crossing and hitting spots in the US.
      There are key things that make me think this, once was the Chinese Submarine, the submarine launced its missiles, but at no point in the Lore while the response system was working that the submarine missile launches near Boston recorded, this seems to indicate that if there were any they would have happened AFTER the strikes while people were in panic and so much was already going on.
      Additionally A chinese launch story alligns too well with the propaganda of the period. China is an easy scapegoat for the real villians (this industrial consortium) to hide behind.

Ever since he was a child he saw the Brotherhood as this great savior organisation and Titus was like lifting the veil completely. I don't doubt that Maximus may have had misgivings before; he was sent out with Titus, but Titus was the final smoke screen. I have a theory, that when Hank came to get the kids that he posed that same question "Them or her" to the wife (her referring to Moldaver as it's incinuated that they're lovers) and she chose Moldaver who was locked in a bunker or taken. I have a feeling we'll get a flashback in season 2 showing this and as Moldaver was seemingly a leader in Shady Sands, she was well known and "somehow" survived the blast, which is why she's known and worshipped as the Flame Mother.

    Don’t know if you missed it but in the first episode when cooper is performing at the kids birthday party one of the dads wonders why he’s there and the other says “what else? Alimony.”, and based off the last scene I wouldn’t be surprised if the divorce was messy and she didn’t let him in or didn’t let him know where the vault was.

    Wilzeg pointed out in ep 2 that Lucy may not want the same things if she becomes a different animal entirely. Lucy wanted to get her dad back. She does but ends up pointing a gun at him. Max wants to be a knight. He gets it but doesn't want it anymore. The ghoul may be different. He turned into a different animal long ago but still wants the same thing. Maybe, anyway. We don't know why he wants to find them. Reunion of revenge?

    Remember, in the first episode, it's public knowledge that Coop had divorced his wife, and the rumor was he was doing kids' parties because the divorce had ruined his career. Vault 31 is very close to where coop and his daughter were performing. The vault was for vault-tec employees and their families... not their ex-husbands, especially ex-husbands who were the public face of the company and turned their back on it.

    One thing I was confused about at first when watching the last episode was that Coop/Ghoul talked about a fault in the welding and literally one-shot every knight in his armor, when he had problems with Maximus in an earlier episode. What I and probably many other had forgotten at this point was that they talked about that fault in episode 1 and that Knight Titus actually got his suit fixed.

      The ghoul has a variety of ammo that he uses. You can see in this episode he loads the gun with an armor piercing bullet, so he must have been expecting to deal with the brotherhood. When maximus fought him it caught him by surprise and he may not have had any armor piercing ammo at the time.

    • @andredulac4456
      @andredulac4456 17 годин тому +1

      I imagine 2 things about that, 1st we saw him playing with some kind of armor piercing bullet when he talked about the welding issue, so maybe he didn't have the right ammo with him at that time. He also saw that Maximus was a rookie and couldn't use the armor at its full potential, so I think he was playing a bit with him, he wasn't really a threat.
      I also remember Coop saying to Bud (in the past) how West Tech was responsible for the death of many of his brothers in arms because because of that issue, so it's not something they added for the last episode.

    Moldaver was actually an NCR leader, not a raider. They attacked the vault after Shady Sands for different reasons. My biggest problem with the ending here personally is that Moldaver seemed to have a loving relationship with Rose, their mom. So why when she attacked the vault would she just let them go hog wild and potential kill her lover's kids. And you can't say she didn't because she specifically married one of them to Lucy. Kinda a plot hole in my opinion especially with them showing her prewar being intelligent. I personally loved the series though even with the few inconsistencies and plotholes. Glad you guys reacted to this so quickly, really enjoy your commentary and reactions. Can't wait for season 2, which was greenlit the week this show came out.

    I don't really know if finally it was the US who dropped the bombs. Yes, it's the wife said that they would do it, but if they did, she would have been with her daughter to protect her.
    Or maybe things got out of control with the war and both became ghouls Dx and then Cooper went with her daughter to the wife's vault and they accepted her and not him? And then the mother went to another vault to try to cure her daughter and that's why the ghoul doesn't know where they are?
    Or maybe the daughter was a clone all along Dx and the mother took the original to a vault in secret. Idk, all theories.
    But it's somewhat difficult to even especulate because we don't know how the series nuclear bombs works... and I mean, the sound wave should have been almost inmmediate IRL and not so slow as shown in ep. 1. And with so many nukes dropping so close, realistically, they should have been dead.

    Remember we still don't definitively know who dropped the bombs first: USA, China, or Vault Tec. Just because they were willing to do it, doesn't mean they did. There was still a very tense global situation with the top two nuclear superpowers in a hot war with each other over the last sources of oil on Earth.
    If Barb is still alive, she is likely in Vault 0, or whatever they name the central control vault (Vault 0 is from a game Bethesda officially removed from canon - Fallout: Tactics). That is probably the "special vault for management" she was referring to when talking with Coop. The question is whether they used cryo in a similar way to Vault 31, and if they did, whether Barb has been thawed out yet.

    One thing I thought of... I've been skimming back through the season looking for Coop's daughter. If she was frozen, she could have been thawed at any time in the past 219 years. She could be any age from a little girl to an old woman. We have no way of knowing if she was thawed or how long ago if she was. Fallout 4 sets this precedent. I'm betting she's someone of importance in New Vegas.

    My theory about Moldaver is that she is a synth. Not only that, but she is one of several created by a primary Williams synth, who was created by the Institute decades before the events of Fallout 4. With her intelligence and charisma, I could see her convincing sympathetic humans and fellow synths to escape the Institute with the resources necessary to start up a remote synth fabrication operation.
    I believe that the original Ms Williams, as a renowned scientist, had her consciousness and memories scanned by C.I.T., the forebears of the Institute, in much the same way as Nick Valentine did, and was recreated as a synth without regard to her origins or potential, merely as an experiment to be relegated as a tool without agency.
    Much like her original human self, the Williams synth’s copies all had the goal of bettering the lives of the people of the Wasteland, and each would take on new names and develop unique personality traits as a result of their individual experiences. We haven’t seen the last of the legacy of Williams in Fallout.
