Why do we seem to be in such a rush? I'd take the deliveryman's safety and quality of pizza over the delivery time any day! It's not as if we have to wait for hours for pizzas.
In China, customers can pay a dollar more for a guaranteed time limited delivery. If the delivery guy is late, he will be punished when he returns to the store. Mostly by taking away a bit of his wage. Which is one of the reason why you will see lots of reckless drivers.... they are delivery workers... I wonder what happens if they dont make the 10 minute delivery time in dominoes...
No thanks. I understand the motive behind it, making the brand more competitive, but the job will become so incredibly stressful for employees, that I'd rather wait another 10-20 minutes for my food.
*communists noises* here in europe they have forbid the use of drone in pizza delivery. Well done it seems that the communist utopia is near. You know high paying zeroskilled workers.
That is the prerequisite, probably they would open multiple small stores for delivery only, as presently they do delivery and dining from the same store making delivery slower and not possible on extremely busy days.
Len anything over an hour does suck. But if it takes an hour for the pizza to be delivered chances are the store is really backed up. I use to work at dominos and it sucked on some Friday nights (the most busiest time of the week) because there’s be a full screen of orders with all the workers on the make line and the pizza rack would be full and no drivers in store because of all the deliveries. It’s stressful being in that position because there’s angry customers, angry managers and angry coworkers. And I agree It does suck waiting an hour for a pizza but sometimes there’s nothing the workers can do to speed up the process.
I worked the third of July this last year (when I started in the beginning of June so I was still learning a lot) and it was only me and one manager and the manager was on the oven and I was on the make line and what was suppose to be a four hour shift turned into over a nine hour shift and there was a full screen of orders from nine pm to one am and I probably made over 300 pizzas that night and it was stressful because I was still fairly new and I didn’t know how to slap out dough and I felt with customers. I don’t work there anymore but that job gave me a new appreciation for customer service workers
As a Domino's employee, I can promise you that it does not take 3 minutes to cook a pan pizza. The only way to get the pizza there in 10 minutes is if you want the dough essentially raw. Also, I appreciate all the comments about how worker and driver safety is a priority; you all rock!
As a Dominos employee, a pizza can be cooked perfectly in as little as 3.5 minutes using a DMP3870. My store has a 4.5 minute WOW oven and pizzas come out evenly cooked and golden on the bottom, not white and undercooked. The oven in this video is also a MiddlebyMarshall WOW oven capable of 4.5 minute time.
Never work for Domino's but I have worked in multiple pizzerias and I can tell you you are correct. It takes between 2 and 5 minutes to prepare the pizza to be put into the oven and a bare minimum of 10 minutes to finish it in the oven. Anything shorter than that you're risking a doughy pizza or a risk of injury to the prepare. And forcing a driver to get to the person's house as fast as possible puts the driver at danger as well as increases the chances that the pizza's going to arrive damaged.
@@leiaorgana5098 Don't worry about the quality, in terms of making the pizza and putting it into the oven, depending on how busy it is, you can get pizzas in under 1:30. The time it takes to heat the pizza is the longest.
Unfortunately, companies often don't care about the conditions they put their employees in. Especially in chain restaurants and businesses like Domino's, many people are treated like robots and not human beings. In my opinion, I would be more than happy waiting 10-15 minutes longer for a pizza if it meant that the employees were not being rushed and my pizza was being made and transported with care.
I work at domino’s has been 2 years. I made pizza, cut pizza & delivery. Just want to tell you that, 10 minutes is impossible when it’s really busy. the delivery will take 30-50minutes arrive depend on when you order. And I really hate those customers that complaint about “ why the delivery so slow “. So here’s some reason why the delivery so slow. 1. The distance, cuz depend on how far you live from your house to domino’s. 2. Traffic Jam, cuz bicycle can’t ride on walk path 3. Safety, Bike is really slow ( but is electric bike), and always need to watch out the car. 4. Service, cuz some of a customers that will complain like “where’s my order, took my 20 mins already” 5. Busy, we are really busy, not only just for your order. We are not super hero. We are doing our best to serve the best order to customers.
Worked as a pizza delivery driver in my days. It is very stressful and not practical when your boss wants you to deliver pizzas within a short amount of time. They never factor in traffic and getting into and out of the car and unexpected customer delays. Everything is just quickly quickly quickly. Ive had to speed and run through red lights to meet their crazy time standards
I work as a pizzamaker in a Domino's store in the Netherlands. On a normal Friday night at rush hour, it takes about 45 minutes in total to make and deliver the products. Most of it is delivery time :) It's a shame that they use these kinds of methods to create pizza. We do it more "naturally". No tools are used, we just shape the dough, put sauce on it and then ingredients, after which it goes into the oven, then into the box and then it gets delivered. All at it's own pace.
Delivery times in Groningen are usually also around 40-45mins and we barely have a busy touristy city. Mostly students. But in general Dutch Dominos is rubbish, if you don't mind me saying
Half baked, half cooked and driver's life at risk to deliver pizza in 10 min.. As if customer is going to die if pizza not delivered to him in 10 min 😅😅
This is insanity. What's so hard about waiting for 30 minutes? It's bad enough that you're lazy too cook for yourself you have to order out. You also want it delivered in lightning speed?
I worked for Domino’s previously and achieved 7 minute delivery times to a couple of streets over even on the older style ovens so definitely achieveable on these newer ovens
I'm a assistant manager at a dominos in Texas. Our average delivery time is about 25-30 mins on a span of 5/7 miles out in each direction. My location is one of the top 4 busiest in the Houston area. It's stressful to keep things even flow as we have endless rushes. Rush's lasting 4 or 5 hours at a time. The dominos in this video must only deliver in a very near vicinity given to the delivery time of 10 minutes and the size of the store. Kudos
They never got around to making it 10 minute delivery in Australia, but they did launch this thing where you pay $5 extra to guarantee 15 minute delivery, $3 extra for a guaranteed 20 minute delivery. It's not worth it though, because all you get is a free large pizza if your delivery doesn't come on time (which usually costs...around $7 with a coupon).
My delivery takes normaly 20-24min and I am totaly fine with that. Even that is incredible. Way approx.: 1,8km from door to door. Best wishes from Germany.
I remember one carry out customer told me that he had been waiting for too long... it had been 5 minutes since he placed his order and his pizza still had 3 minutes to go in the oven. Some people are never gonna be satisfied. He was trying to weasel his way into getting a free pizza on his next order I think. I told him that his order is complete under 10 minutes and that if it’s too long for him the little Caesars across the street does sell ready made pizza. He left mad and I didn’t care.
I work for Domino's and this is not realistic. Making the pizza takes at least 1 minute, the oven time 10 minutes, then about another minute to cut the pizza, box it, bag it, and get it out the door. And that's just one pizza. If a customer orders multiple pizzas/ multiple items, then that time increases with each item. And even if you get an oven that cooks the pizza in half the time (5 minutes), there's still the travel time to the delivery location, which can vary based on traffic, accidents, ability to find the address, and of course distance. Some of my deliveries are 5+ miles away, but even going just 1 mile on a bike will take longer than 10 minutes, mostly because you'll have to stop for lights to cross streets.
3 miles is actually a huge delivery area for that dominos location, no wonder it takes them a long time. They’re likely understaffed with delivery drivers. By the time your order comes out of the oven the next available delivery driver that can take your order to you is gonna be around 30-45 minutes out assuming all drivers are already out delivering previously placed orders. It’s rough. I hope Domino’s is expanding in you area so that the delivery borders can be small enough for you to get your food in a reasonable time.
I gotta give huge props to dominos here in NC, USA. Where I live they technically aren’t supposed to deliver here (I live in the middle of nowhere). I was a manager at dominos not very long ago. We delivered in an 8 mile radius and our food spent 6 and a half minutes in the oven. The average delivery time was 23 minutes. I thought that was fine.
U don't have to rush. We can wait for like 30-45 minutes for the pizza. So while waiting for the pizza we can like take a shower, do some cleaning, play with ur phone, Watch TV, take the trash out...
I used to work for both Dominos and Papa Johns and both companies use the same kind of ovens. It take 6 minutes exactly from the time the pizza goes on the oven rack to when it comes out and is ready to be boxed. Seeing how this one crucial step in pizza cooking takes up over 50% of the alotted time, I would say no.
Couple factors to consider. One how long was their oven time? A few Dominos I worked at had 6-7 minutes oven times. Also, how close was that delivery? They added on their time by not having a folded box. How fast did that driver get back to store as well? Cool video though.
NO THANKS, at my place it's 30 mins but i don't mind waiting another 10-15 mins more for the food so long as they cook it properly than having delivered fast but uncooked.
