I have a 317e newer and a 314 older model. I can not stop playing the 314 . I have not put identical strings on each but the 314 just sounds sooo gooood ! Maybe its the aging of wood for 15 years but not sure
!? No, sadly! My wife even gave me the green light to pull the trigger and then our damn septic drain field flooded. So I guess you could say that my guitar fund went straight to shit 😂
Rich gave little to no description of the sound difference. He said the 317 had full-sounding chords and the 314 had "a lot of that still present." In a video that is nearly 8 minutes long, I was hoping for more of his views of the difference. Yes, he played the guitars, but this is UA-cam and sound quality does not come through 100%. He also said that the 314 reacts different to fingerstyle. It reacts different? How? He never told us.
@@JPVanderbuilt its less about the "youtube sound quality" and more about the microphone it was recorded with and the speakers or headphones you are using to listen. If you're listening on your phone, yeah its not gonna sound great. Im on a pc using a good set of headphones and it sounds great. Also, this was not a review, it was a comparison. which is why we didnt get a long frawn out speel about his opinion on which sounds better. its a comparison, you listen and decide for yourself

I have both I regret having bought the 317 the 314 is much more sounding and versatile to me
My 2006 314 sounds better than my 2018 317e
@ and the 317 is very difficult to sell much less resale value on reverb compared to 314ce
Both great, but as I'm mostly fingerstyle the 314 wins my next purchase - thank you - great demonstration
THAT'S how you do a demo.
I want the 317 for Christmas
Did you get it?

@@gregbaker3701 ahhh sorry man
!? No worries brother hopefully this summer
Update ...I ended up getting the 224ce Koa dlx....played them both the same day and honestly liked the 224 much more.
These guitars have gone up by $500 since this video was made, yikes :(

What would you prefer: him telling you his opinion or him playing the guitars so YOU be the judge?
@@ArielCardona He should do BOTH as other reviewers do. Sound quality through UA-cam is not always great, so I want to hear his opinion. Obviously.

I heard a noticeable difference. No need for him to hold my hand.
@@karlcountry2363 When you listen to the opinion of someone with expertise, it's not "hand-holding," it's called useful information.
Grand Pacific sounds brighter….
