Tip for the beginners out there like me: When you’re knitting in the round, a stockinette stitch doesn’t alternate between knitted and pearl rows. You just knit the whole time and because you are always on the right side the pattern is stockinette. Maybe obvious to some but I was seriously struggling until I learned this :)
Hi, I just wanna say that admire you because to knit it's a great labor, I don't even to knit, I watch tutorials to improve my english skills so thanks for sharing.
That's actually such a smart way to learn a language! I'm going to give this a shot with swedish! Also, your English seems awesome going off of this comment :))
4:12 PRO TIP: don’t screw on interchangeable needles by holding them at the wood portion of the needle. Over time you will weaken the bond between the wood and metal and they’ll break. Always screw them on while holding onto the metal base only. 😉
@@Assia-g1h oops sorry I'm late but yes you will switch the needles between projects or even within the same project. You can just permanently leave one set of needles on the cord but that defeats the purpose of interchangable needles 😅 you may as well just buy a regular set of circular needles.
When you just want a chunky knit sweater that's not a cable knit sweater and can't buy them anywhere it's time to make one. I've only ever done basic knitted hats and thanks to this tutorial feel more confident on making this type sweater. Thank you

I taught myself how to knit and started with scarfs. It's only been a couple of months but the needles you use are so beautiful. I can't wait to begin my sweater.
I wanted to share this info with you. The Lykke set I bought from Amazon was a fake. I can't believe that a dupe would be made on a knitting set. The way you can tell is the placement of the Lykke label. Their signature label is placed directly flush with the stitches, also they don't have Lykke engraved on the zipper on the authentic one. Another thing is the needle board that has velcro is supposed to be a perfect rectangle but on the fake the bottom corners are trimmed off. I hope all this makes sense. A big give away is the 24" cord is actually only 15" in length. All of the included cords are not the correct length. I only want to inform you and others because the needles are not handmade or made to last. Thank you for reading.
@@WellLovedKnits Your Lykke Set looks real, and I went ahead and stopped by my local shop and they sold me a real one. Thank you for your great info. I am making a video on the genuine one vs the dupe.
I unfortunately don’t have anywhere near that sells the LYKKE sets, so I could only resort to Amazon. So, I can’t confirm whether or not the ones on Amazon are fake, but these are still pretty fantastic knitting needles. I’m pretty sure I got all the right cord lengths, all 8 stoppers, etc. I guess since they may not be the real deal, these are a pretty darn good “dupe”, they are made to be basically the same but $40 cheaper. Idk, as long as you have the right size needles for pattern, will it make a huge difference if they aren’t real LYKKE?
@@brbrat9 There are some places that will sell Lykke Needles to you through their local online shop. Just do a search for it on the Lykke site. For me I read too many reviews where the needles broke in half after just a few uses. I agree the dupes are almost identical in looks but not in quality. I wanted to save $40 too but not if they're only going to last for a month or two. I made a video to spot the difference if you're interested.

I just started knitting and I really wanna try to make this sweater it looks stunning, the only problem is that I don't own any circular needles do you think I can still make this with straight needles?
For the body, you could use straight needles if they come in the size you need to get gauge. For the sleeves, you will need circular needles or double pointed needles to knit it in the round.
It's so very cute, both the sweater and the way she was explaining it, just one bad thing the process seems difficult for beginners, apart from that it was super cool video ❤️
You sure make this look easy! I love this project and hope to try it soon ! Thanks so much for sharing how to so this and all you do. You are so gifted and seem like such a wonderful person.
Hello, bought the pattern everything in going great except for im confused in the shoulders, if I cast off for the right shoulder where should my string start for the left? Or what do I do to pick up the left with? Super new to knitting, please help. Thank you!
I absolutely love this! How long does it roughly take to knit up? I have never knitted in the round before, so the sleeves scare me a bit. Would love more indepth video of how to pick up stitches and knit in the round for collar and sleeves
As a more experienced knitter, this takes me around 3-4 days to knit :) To pick up stitches around the collar and sleeves, the steps are the same. I do offer a more 'in depth' look in my v-neck collar video. The process to pick up is exactly the same: ua-cam.com/video/opbUCNdNyQg/v-deo.html
I think it all depends on how fast you knit and the needles you are using. Metal needles are quicker than wood in my experiance, so if you already are a quicker knitter than average and are good with metal needles, id say it takes probably a day less (also depending if you cramp easily and how long you spend knitting each day) than she says, at least for me. Continental and other techniques can also speed up your knitting pace. But i find if you arent well versed in continental it slows you down.
hey! i just wanted to add that in the pattern it needs clearer instructions for finishing the front panel shoulder area. it actually turned out to be uneven as it was 1 row short on the left side. and the cutting of extra yarn to finish the left side should have been mentioned. also, when casting off for the neckline to cast off one extra as I ended up with an extra stitch on the right side. so it becomes 10/11 cast off. no hate- just wanted to make others aware of this and I'm more than a beginner knitter so newbies would be very confused.
I’m in the comments searching for help about the left shoulder. I’ve finished the right shoulder and casted off, now I have my left stitches and no working yarn. I’m super beginner knitter here. Would you mind describing what I should do here? Thanks!
when using a long tail cast-on on longer stitch counts, use both ends of the ball, or two strands. tie the ends together closely and then begin the long tail method as normal, both stands live off the ball(s). you will simply cut the extra end off once your stitch count is achieved, no guessing.
I just bought one of your patterns and I’m so excited to start! I used to knit all the time and I’m sooo excited to get back into it. I love sweaters as well so it’s perfect lol
Amazing thank you! Can I ask, did you cut your yarn to knit the left shoulder side when you finished the right? You put your stitches for the left shoulder on another set of needles and then knitted the right side , that would mean to knit the left after, without connecting the 2 sides you’d need to cut? Just checking to make sure I do it right !
