I too use my dpn when I knit cables 😊 I have cable needles but I enjoy using my dpns more. Congrats on your new addition to your family 🎉 love the beautiful blue wool you are using!❤
I plan one day to do knitting marathon myself, just for fun and adrenaline. Of course with kids it would be almost impossible, so I should manage this before) I also tend to overestimate my knitting speed, or in general, everything I do in life I think I will accomplish sooner that it is in reality😂 there are knitters who knit faster then me but I noticed that I stop enjoying the process when I hasten my speed. So in my case I prefer quality over quantity. I agree with you that knitting demands so much presious time that one should think things over before starting a new project. Of course it comes with experience. At the beginning everybody is so passionate about knitting)
i like how you didnt overexert yourself and decided to rest when you did. i feel like other marathon videos are hardcore challenges 😂, but its nice that you showed a day of knitting in-between other things in your day.

Congratulations! I also wanted to say that I have knit a fair amount of cables and prefer to just use a DPN over a cable needle. I can more easily knit right off of it and I can hold both the working needle and the DPN next to each other in my left hand to cable with which makes cabling a little quicker for me. So you definitely don’t need a cable needle!
Congrats on baby boy #2. So exciting that Arthur will have a baby brother. :) All the best to your growing family. BTW I'm a beginner knitter and it was good to see that you too may overestimate how much you can complete. My estimates are so far off at this point.

Congratulations, so I wasn't cross eyed inthe other video you were sorting the shelf :)
I understand wanting to work with a color like that well, when I make shawls with color gradient yarns, the brighter and nicer the colors for me, the more I wanna work on them and get to where they next change - the rainbow one from Hobbiis Sultan line for example is SO good for getting the project done, I think it's called Galaxy Opal or so and I made 3 different shawls our of that one now.
Other more subtle colorshifts are great too, but they are less exiting to finish and I put them away for way longer and focus on socks or something different in the meantime.. the next wish I got on my list is getting a big yarn cake with about 3700 meters or so from a yarn manufacture close to my hometown, so I can make a huge shawl I can cuddle into when sitting in a draft or just wanting to be cozy. I found a colorway on their website I am absolutely in LOVE with, so I'll be saving up for that one!
congratulations on baby boy 2! So exciting! I'm also doing an all over cable garment (my first cables), a vest so 'only' have to do the body. It also amazes me how long the cable rows take, but it is such a fun and engaging knit.

So when you had the wooly knits Kal, I had bought like 3 cones of yarn and I also wanted to knit sweater no 15, but I hadn't yet because I also got stuck on yarn choices. Do I want to knit with mohair and a fingering or just double up on the fingering? Needless to say, thanks to reminding me to cast that on! Definitely want to do it with my cherry red cone.
