Okay I get that the Belmonts have a ledge guarding technique that can usually be done by a blind infant but this guys pressure at the ledge is insane. He's often microspacing the holy water to catch the ledge or using it to read getup options and the preemptive cross allows him to cover jump approaches and rolls at the same time, particularly because people are scared of losing ledge invincibility by hanging too long and eating a down angled fsmash. A good Belmont can win at the ledge with skill rather than having wifi powered by a hamster wheel.
the thing is abt projectile characters like samus, richter, etc. is their whole game plan is to figure out how u want to get in. I can see every time he threw a projectile, people try to jump over so he immediately anti airs them to force them into shield. this creates pressure on you and if he knows he’s scared u into shielding he can land free grabs, so now it feels like you can’t do anything at all. eventually you’ll start jumping again cuz u dont wanna get grabbed, but then he’ll catch u jumping again and the cycle repeats itself. playing on the attacking side and knowing which step ur on and making sure you know whats coming next is essential for aggressive play styles

By “high level players” I didn’t mean top 50 players in the world, there’s a difference between high level player and top level player. By high level players I meant people who are about as good as someone you’d see around 11mil gsp or more (who get there with raw skill and without exploiting Wifi. There really is no other way to gauge a skill of an online player other than gsp and I really don’t think you’d find more high level online players in 9 or 10mil gsp over 11mil gsp so chill).
Lol I definitely wouldn’t say mid level. I’m around 11 mil with Link and I can destroy just about any casual player. Obviously there are hundreds probably thousands of players that can destroy me, but in terms of the grand scheme of things - definitely high level player.
@@Plant_King while that may seem impressive, I don’t think most people think that gsp determines if someone is high leveled or not. It’s online, not offline. I could have 11 million gsp and still get my ass kicked at locals. If I can’t even win a local I don’t think I could call myself a high leveled player. You have to consider that a lot of those people included in gsp are little children, as this is a children’s party game made by Nintendo. 11 million gsp isn’t very impressive. You also have to consider how good the wifi is to begin with. Nintendo’s online is horseshit, and some people just wanna play smash at McDonald’s. This makes reacting a lot harder and at some times irrelevant. I have found myself dying because I reacted, pressed shield, but the input delay fucked me up by a couple of frames and I just lose the game. This makes characters like Samus a lot easier to get in 11 million gsp. Good luck trying to even parry consistently online. It’s a complete guessing game when it comes to your opponents router. Maybe you’ll play with 2 more frames of delay, maybe even 4. This can mess up almost any interaction and greatly rewards zoners who don’t have to interact nearly as much, but wait, there’s more. You also have to consider the amount of players who use tournament illegal settings online. As that is also grouped up with gsp. I could turn on stamina mode in 11 million gsp whenever the hell I want and ruin a ganondorf’s or little Macs day. Essentially what I’m saying is, there are way too many factors that impede on gsp being an accurate test of skill. The wifi, the rule sets, the input delay, the massive amounts of little children who just mash f smash, and hell, even characters like sonic are nerfed in an online setting like this. Sounds insane right? Well a Sonic can’t time you out properly with the best online rule set you can get on elite smash. He has to have a stock lead not percent lead. Seems crazy that the online warrior who was feared at the beginning of the online tournament uprising took such a big hit from Nintendo’s shitty rule for timeouts.
