Thank you so much for the valuable information in this video! I have a few of these plants and also have dogs and miniature horses. Good to know that I need to keep them away from each other due to toxicity. 😱 I’m in SoCal too so I will be sure to keep them in pots so I can move them instead of planting in the ground.
I have a plant that is growing in a pot , hanging out and “crawling.” No pets anymore, and as I have it on my large pool Paved deck, it just looks so nice, but although I have been told it is 8n the kalanchoe family, it doesn’t look like these. your video is wonderful!
Good video I learned a lot and with no kids or pets around would like to grow some of these very interesting plants. If these were planted on California mountainsides to help prevent fires wouldn't they endanger birds and other animals who would be tempted to eat these juicy looking plants?
I have read that the variety with the broad, light green leaves is a hybrid between K. daigremontiana and possibly K. laxiflora. It is identified as Kalanchoe laetivirens
I have a bathroom with no windows, I want to be able to store succulents in there. Should I get a grow light? If so how long should I use it for per day and or per week. If you have any info on this I would love some advice 😁
I'd like to make a ledge for my succulent, any tips if I do wish to start making one? Do I have to make the ledge waterproof or apply some wood treatment?
I think introducing these plants into fire prone areas might be a fire deterrent, but like all invasive species it would compete with other plants. Maybe even preventing some species from reproducing.
I couldn’t agree more about succulents helping California during fire season! Debra Lee has a friend who’s home was saved by her home being surrounded by succulents and her home didn’t suffer.
I recently got a small pink mother of thousands with babies growing all around the mother plant which are already rooted. Should I just transfer them to another pot? I'm afraid they will die since they don't have chlorophyll like the original green MoT. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for sharing this one...I have propagated mother of thousand from plant lets...but my plants are all green like Mexican hat..here in India this plant don't show it's color!!
I thought Mother of Millions had plantlets all the way around the leaves and Mother of Thousands has plantlets only on the tips.. I guess I didn't consider how invasive they are...
Thank you for all this info. I'm actually on a mission to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong with my pink butterflies. I moved them under a buttered grow light a couple of days ago because my leaves are drooping down and they're not supposed to and I really don't want to lose this plant because it is beautiful because it's pink. Can you help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!
@sunkissbrown And they’re not growing a whole Lotta babies right now because the plants is recovering from whatever I was doing wrong with it. But I did end up finding one on Mountain crest gardens. Go check them out and see if you can find one but it’s hit and miss
So someone selling "pink butterfly kalanchoe seeds" is probably not on the up and up I'm guessing? Is it actually possible to grow this plant from seeds?
Our new dog as a problem eating my succulents and has destroyed a few severely. Still alive but severely damaged. I take her out twice a day to do a bit of training to not go on planters. She is getting better. But she has diarrhea from eating them. I started succulents last year and she cut my very first one I got in half. I was devastated.
Mother of thousands! Have few and tall as a 6ft ! Before i hate them didn't know what is this plants are, take them down and after few months have many AGAIN! For 2 years.. then .. Figure out called MOTHER OF THOUSANDS! WOOW! I LET THEM TO GROW UP TALL TALL Just wondering how tall can be!
I love seeing so many types of succulents that I've never seen before. Beautiful.

I have both and didn’t know they are toxic. And one was purchased at a nursery, you would think they might have mentioned it. Thanks for info.

How to propagate from leaves? Do they need more humidity than other succulents?

Is pink butterfly not the same as mother of thousands?
Is this plant a poison or toxic?
I'm eating green kalanchoe every day.
Is there any danger
My babies not come out real pink how to make them more pink?
Okay so if the babys lack chlorofyl and thats the reason they dont grow, isnt it possible to give them sugar water?
I really hope its possible, I just bought some babys and didnt do good research so I didnt know they were hard to grow :(
Mine is still a baby
I don't know how to send pics po
