    If this is actually happening, a Mexican version with nitro, alder and rosewood will be the best way to go. I got the flea sign J-bass and everything about it is fantastic. Only issue was the setup. It was an issue for both me and my friend. But after a got a professional set up on mine it’s an amazing instrument! 🤩

      yup, im excited. my only concern would be the price. The current market for signature artist price around $1600-1800 for Mexican Made.

    • @Vigi
      @Vigi Рік тому +3

      @@ereimul1444 Yeah, but as soon as the instrument got nitro + relicing, you get into that price range. The fact that it’s an artist signature instrument will drive up the price a couple of hundred bucks tops. So considering the specs, I would say this is the most affordable way to go, without too much compromise. If it would be a custom shop signature, then it would be waaaay more expensive and imo the quality difference would not justify the price increase. :)

    Hard to guess on the price! MIM signatures vary quite a bit: the Jimmie Vaughn Strat is 1150, the Tom Morello Strat is $1700, the Jim Root Jazzmaster is 1800. Lots of MIM signature models with nitro are $1650 (e.g. the Jason Isbell, Jimmy Page)

    the older mexican "road worn" series was fantastic, if they did a john sig similar to one of those models, i would go against my previous personal opinion and i would buy a fender strat
    i also used to own a flea bass and i kick myself everytime i see one as to why i sold it, it was fantastic, ill buy another some day

    I can probably guess it is gonna be a Classic Series 60’s Strat with relic’d laquer finish. Quality and price compare to Jason Isbell signature telecaster.

    I wonder if his signature Strat be relic'd like his real Strat? If so, that'd be freakin' cool! If not, it'd just be a made in Mexico 60s Strat. I hope it's relic'd like the Eddie Van Halen Frankenstein Strat. It's made in Mexico, too! 😃🎸

    John has resisted for a long time getting a signature model. Here is my theory. He told Fender he would do it but only if they could make one that was affordable and still played like his. John isn’t the type of guy to gouge people and I think he would only do it if it was an affordable yet elite level instrument. Which supports the MIM theory. I really hope it happens. He is one of the GOATS and has inspired generations of players. I think another good reference is the McCready signature model. MIM as well I believe.

    If fender and JF want to sell his guitars, they’ll be Mexi’s. They can either sell 100 customs at $1800 or 10,000 at $650. Just because he plays vintage guitars doesn’t mean he won’t have a Mexican made strat.

    The Isbell neck is very good, but i can't get past the plastic trust rod ajuster at the top of the neck. Stratosphere Guitars had an American Jimmy Page Mirror Guitar Neck in dark Rosewood 7.25 with tuners for $799.00 fit perfectly. Looks like the custom shop Guitar that Jason Isbell really plays. Check out old video of his concerts and you see the real guitar with no plastic ajuster at the headstock.

      @Eefje Harings why? Don't know. Flatter radiuses make bending as well as set-up easier. Also, 9.5" is not too flat as compared to Gibson (12"). How? A luthier removed the frets and flattened the rosewood board to 9.5" and then installed new frets and nut. It's a pretty easy job with the right tools.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but does John using that replica mark the first time he's used a guitar built post-1970?
    I just wanna' know.
    edit: should probably clarify that I meant from since his initial return to the Chili Peppers, and I guess I'll suggest an answer to my own question by saying that the "Synth guitar" was the first guitar he'd used with the Chili Peppers since his initial return that was built post-1970.

    My Mexican strat I’ve had for like 30 years , and I’ve never played another guitar that is even close to playability . Anyone who picks it up says the same and can never put it down. The neck is so dam slick it makes it so easy to get whatever type of sound you want at any time , and I’ve played American ones too. I don’t understand myself what makes people think their American ones are so much better . Nothing you couldn’t custom anyway
