He didn't start the locomotive. The start switch is inside the cab. He was just pressing a switch for missing water,it can sometimes go out. So when one person starts the engine in the cab,the other presses the switch.
Ovo je General Motors G26C. Ima V16 motor od 2200 konja. Potrošnju dizela je teško izračunati jer ovisi o količini tereta, nagibu i trenutnoj brzini kretanja. We have rotating seats here in the US too, but outside of the short 4 axle loco's used on slow local trains and in yards you never see LHF operation. Only in unusual circumstances have I seen a full size high horsepower loco running backwards at the head of a train.
Zack Boone According to stuff written on our railway forum, all Croatian diesel locomotives have double controls for driving in each direction and two men present inside. If they drive "long hood forward" the engineer's assistant watches the other side to tell him about anything important that might come up.
The Wild Boar there are a lot of locomotives near where I live that have noses that goo all the way to the tip of the cab so it's the same practice with 2 sets of eyes

da ali 2 2062 što su prodane u Argentinu imaju paljenje na alnaser, to su valjda u Gredelju složili.

Zack Boone I can't tell about the control stands, but such way of driving is practiced here, I think the engineer just rotates its seat.
