- Cricket Captain 2024 has just been announced today, as the game releases on June 6th for Steam. So I decided to gather my thoughts as I research all about the new features promised to be coming in the game, let's see what this new game brings...

Well, I'm new to Cricket at all and I do love manager games, so Cricket Captain caught my interest. I'm going to get CC24 when it's released, but I'm afraid that it keeps going its way - if I read all those reviews on Steam, they all have mixed reviews only. Straight, from 2014 until now. Mostly because ppl say it didn't really change. But that's a big problem with each manager game, if it's the Tennis Manager, Football Manager, Out of the Park Baseball, Franchise Hockey Manager and especially Pro Cycling Manager (which are all more expensive than Cricket Captain though). Just small changes that was an just update but they keep releasing a "new" game every year again. Sooo..hmmm.... I'm really on the fence.
Yep, it's fair to say that's the common consensus in the community 😅
If your getting the game for the first time, it might be worth trying out an older version of Cricket Captain to see if you'll like it. They also tend to be cheaper than the more recent versions of the game 🙂

Nice coincidence you mentioned to get an older version first because I was wondering if that's a good idea, even because they'd be cheaper 😅 but I was afraid since I'd be afraid that I probably miss some nice new features then.
I'll get Don Bradman Cricket 14 as well, since ppl say it's still the best one. Idk if it's true, I have to trust blindly. But I actually have to buy it rather than Cricket 19 or younger because I do have a very old computer and I believe Don Bradman could run well on that potato 😂
Funny that I always learned how sports work by playing them on computer.

Don Bradman Cricket was a great polished game, doesn't have the licenses that there are today but the gameplay was more polished since they spent more time on it 👍

Cricket 24 is great been playing a lot of it recently! Being able to add mods would be pretty cool, but doesn't look like that will feature this time around, baseball is interesting 👀
Why do they not update the animations on this game?
I suppose because it would cost more than the reward it would bring the developers, I personally don't mind since I play the game for the content vs for the graphics, but many others in the community think the graphics should improve at some stage which is fair!
I mean the graphic engine hasn't been updated for like 15+ years ... surely they make enough money to update
