Making Goals for Dog Shows

Ahhhh January, the notorious season of resolutions and goal setting! When it showing your dog, there are many different things you might want to accomplish and thus many ways to go about that - for instance, which shows to attend, which judges to show to, how much many you will spend, and much more. Setting a goal is a great way to get started and measure your progress! In today’s tutorial, Allison discusses a few examples of goals you might have and how to go about accomplishing them.

Can you do a tutorial about table bath? I've been told to table bath my standard poodle's legs every morning of shows... but I must be doing something wrong because it doesn't seem to help 😅

Glad you found it helpful! What are your show goals this year (besides mastering that bathing technique 😁)?
We have that tutorial here on UA-cam, we call it the "Bucket Bath": ua-cam.com/video/JG1H84BLSAI/v-deo.htmlsi=vGpEmKKDVOJQzvHv. It is demonstrated with a Golden but the same applies for a Poodle - you can move the bucket around your table and lift each leg over the bucket. Let us know if you need more guidance!

We finished my dog's UKC CH, for 2024 we're stepping into AKC. To get any points at all is a low goal, but I like to start easier so we can hit that, celebrate, and move the goalposts. 😃
