I am a Taiwanese English teacher. (我是一個台灣的英文老師) The reason why my English is so good in comparsion with most of my fellow Taiwanese is that I have been constantly learning and practicing English. (我英文能力之所以比其他台灣大多數同胞來得強是因為我不間斷地學習與練習英文) Hopefully the average Emglish ability level for Taiwanese can improve a lot in the very near future. (希望台灣的平均英語實力能在不久的將來大大地進步) I have finished watching this video completely. (我已經完整地看完了這個影片) This video is awesome!!!! (這個影片棒呆了!!!) It is bloody useful!! (真是夭壽實用!!!) Big thanks to the teacher and all the fellow students around the world. (大大地感謝老師與所有其他國籍的學生)
Thank you very much for explaining the US presidential elections in such a brilliant and most interesting way. It'll help me (a retired Norwegian teacher) to explain it to my grand-children etc.
Agree. He has two additional grammar mistakes in his very short sentence. It should be "go to the gym" instead of "go to gym" and "maybe" instead of "may be". Some people are just rude and ignorant.
I am an Iranian from Iran! We are very well aware of the malice of China and Russia! Unfortunately, some Americans are simple and deceptive! You Americans do not know that Jobiden intends to humiliate America! He is an ignoramus and unfortunately he will be in the interests of China, Russia and terrorist countries! I swear to you, if you want America's honor, just vote for Trump.

You are extremely helpful, Adam. Thanks a million. Thank you, Mr. Adam this lesson was really helpful and I appreciated. You're a great teacher. Thank you for explaining everything so thoroughly. 😊👍
Mr. Adams you are smart and clever teacher. I do not talk to much about politicians, but I do appreciate this English Class where you. Discribe how the Election System works. I've been learned a lot from you. Thank you lovely teacher Mr Adams. By the way, you referr a President Barak Obama thst means 8 or nine years ago, now we have Joh Biden he is a good President too.😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You're very clear in your explanations, though I have some doubts but they do not have to do with you, but the system. I don't understand a few things about the electoral college: if a candidate can be president even losing the popular vote, so why is the popular vote carried on? And who chooses the members of the electoral college? Thanks for your videos, they bring me a lot of vocabulary.
Marcos Fernández basically, each state has a number of members of the electoral college. Even if a candidate wins a state by less than a percentage ALL the representatives of that state pledge to vote for that candidate. The system is good for states with a smaller population because a candidate could win the popular vote with just a few states.
Basically if it’s by popular vote, then only the heavily populated cities will decide who the next president is, while the least populated cities don’t get a say in who the president is. The founding fathers of the US never wanted a mob rule election where the majority will tyrannize the minority. Like why should the people of California care what the people of Wyoming need? Each state/city has their own set of issues/problems. And it’s the political party who gets to choose the electors, mostly registered members of the party. The requirements to be an elector is you must be a US citizen, did not become a part of any type rebellion against the country, and must not hold an office of trust, though I don’t really know what office of trust is.
You choose an appropriate time to bring us this lesson, with very useful and interesting information about the American Election. Thank you for your effort, i apreciate it a lot :D
I think what you said about Candidate and nominee is the opposite of what you explained , the candidate is the person who is running to be a nominee , while nominee is the one who has chosen by his/her own party to run for presidency .
Thank you a bunch for help with understanding a bit of the system and a lot with english words and meanings! We need more English teachers like you in HUngary :) Cheers
Nice work Teacher Adam!! You've gave us very hot updating lesson, that people like me should know about.. Thanks again for enlightening us whether it's about English, life or anything that might help us.. Thanks a lot!!
What a great video Adam, as useful as your all other lessons. I tried to take the quiz but I could not, any way hope to see many more videos from you. thankyou

in practice a swing voter is of no dedicated party but casts a ballot for the candidate (of any party ) they feel most represents their views and needs. we tend to be independent (but not of the Independent Party) and not registered with a party and therefore are unpredictable as to who we will vote for. we often vote a "mixed ticket" of candidates from both parties for all the different public offices up for election. Sometimes a swing voter is actually rooted in one party but will under certain circumstances "swing" over to the other party's candidate because their party's candidate is unsuitable for consideration. many millions of Republicans voted Democrat for Obama in 2008 for President . The rest of the ballot they voted their affiliated party.
I think you’re awesome at explaining. I often use your videos for my students. However, this one is a little too complex for all of them. You could try making another that is simpler for B1-B2 level
We love you. The greatest teacher.
As an American this is probably one of the best explanations of the American electoral process I have seen.
