I had same problem with my 06 5.9 Cummins and it was the starter ground wire. Cleaned ground, problem solved. Also had to re-flash software to TIPM and clear all codes. In my case it wasn’t a TIPM problem, just a ground issue. It’s a very common issue. Always clean your grounds before changing parts.
That's what I started out with. Forgot to mention that in the video. I went through, checked, and cleaned all of the grounds on the truck, then reset the tipm. Still no luck with that.
I have the exact same problem on my 1500 dodge ram slt 2003. I didnt know there was a relay under the tipm. I will c later if mine has one too. Im thinking its a corroded wire somewhere. Going to try and use deoxit d5 or d100 for the connectors.
It was getting to be a bit of an issue before it completely went out. When starting the truck, the starter would click and not turn the engine over. You would have to turn the key a couple of times for it to start. I pulled the starter off the truck, then pulled the starter solenoid apart, and the contacts were obviously worn out. Ordered the starter solenoid rebuild kit from Genos Garage and starter works amazing.
Bad starter solenoid took out the tipm. Rebuilt the starter with a kit from Genos Garage. Sent the tipm to a tipm shop, and they rebuilt it. Truck starts and runs amazing!
It ended up being a bad tipm. I was jumping from the positive battery terminal to the pin in the starter relay that triggers the starter solenoid. Also, check your starter solenoid. The starter solenoid went out in this truck, and I think that's what caused this issue with the tipm. I rebuilt the solenoid with a kit from Genos Garage.

I have a 06 1500 5.7. I changed the relay behind the tipm. Starter and battery. No crank still. Wires look fine. Could be corrosion though. Frustrated
Did you get your no crank problem solved?

Hey how’d you test the starter solenoid was bad? It sounded like the starter worked fine when you bypassed the relay

Hey
Any luck finding the culprit of the problem ? I’m having some similar problem

I can’t see what you jumpered to start it. Anyone know what they used. Same issue on 06 auto

Figure it out?
Yes I did.
Is the key fob
Could be the crankshaft sensor for the rpms needle dancing.
