I’m grateful for your video. I had just replaced my starter 5 minutes ago and same issue. Then I found your video after my dad told me about possible ground issues. Thank you 😊 thank you 😊 thank you 😊
My 2500Ram won't start suddenly, after watching many time of this video, I found the ground wire near fender then cleaned it up. it starts right way. thanks much
I just wish i lived closer to bring my 2011 6.7 to you. Did a headgasket. And now its got some serious electrical problems. New batteries, new tipm and the list is growing.

Cool deal sadly so many Ford's and Chryslers have poor connections from the start they will run stuff to the frame or places where sand and dirt get up inside connecters.
Helpful video , I just replaced my starter and still having issues with it starting , my question is would a bad ground cause my batteries to lose voltage overnight ? Batteries are still good took them to get checked but I’m having to jump start the truck every morning
Was there power to the dash in run/start? My 05 cummins has power in acc but nothing in start/run. Heater fan works until you turn key to ignition then no power. No power to OBD port either. Ideas?
You need to get someone to try and crank the engine while you 12 volt test the signal wire going to the starter so that you can rule out the starter and from there I would look for bad relays or fuses or maybe check relays and fuses first but this is a good starting point hope this helps
@@codemansauto208 no power to dash at all in run/start. Nothing. I did jump the starter relay in the fuse box and motor turned over so that should rule out signal starter wire right? Only thing odd I noticed so far in fusebox was #34 abs module run/start doesn't have juice. Maybe it's powered when running I don't know. I think I need to track down the power wire to ignition run/start and go from there. Any idea what wire and pin in fuse box that may be?
@@codemansauto208 I’ve got a 2014 3500cummins it has long crank before start I have to crank it for about 10seconds 3-4 times before it starts do you have any advice I’d greatly appreciate it
codeman, when mine doesn't start, open the hood and i tap the starter once w a steel bar and it starts up. done that 20 times. dead spot or brushes in the starter?
I’m having the exact same issue, I put a jumper in the relays place inside the fuse box and it cranks the truck up but when I replace the jumper wire with the relay, it won’t start. I replaced both parts, starter & relay. Time to clean the ground connections and get back on the road , hoping this does it ! Ty for the video
@@jenniferpasten8847 what year? Mines a 05, don't believe the for has that kinda technology lol. Mine just started having 0 power in the run/start position. I jumped the starter relay and it turns over and all fuses are powered in the fuse tray except #34 abs module run start...maybe that's piggybacked and gets power from the run/start. Dash and windows work in acc but powers missing in the ignition switch run/start. I replaced ignition switch...no change.
@@jameswade8432 right….next would be cleaning off ground cable with wire brush in engine bay along the fire wall. I guess they collect dust & rust and mess with the connections. I believe there’s more than 1 ground connection piggy backed, just have to find them. I swapped the starter and key fob battery and it worked, Lmk what happens
Did exactly this to my 2018 2500 6.7 but did not work for me unfortunately. Tested the ignition plug, 12v to starter, starter itself is good and still no start issue….
Neutral Safety switch would be something you should check if you haven't already and one way to check it would be to try to start in Neutral just make sure set your e-brake first. i have seen these give issues with a no crank no start
Shit. I have this same issue and it's 120am and I want to go to the gym. Sucks. I guess I'll have to wait until daylight to resolve this. My headlights work all my electricals but it just clicks when I try to start. Sucks.

Look at those tires. Way past time to replace them. All too common the overly wide and expensive wheels and tires running around get worn bad, not rotated maintain and proper tire pressure. And it's running around nearly Bald and choppy

When I turn the key the gauges light up but don’t move, the fuel pump is silent and it cranks but won’t turn over
Did you find out what it was?
@@sarahstokes9744 unfortunately not I have it In the shop but when my buddy fixes it I’ll tell you the culprit
Try unhooking the battery for an hour and hook the battery back up and restarting the truck ok.
It could be the engine control module.
@@sarahstokes9744 found the problem it was the TIPM module about $150 to replace minus labor

Check fuel pressure, could be failing lift pump.
