Fascinating!! I write insurance for Lafayette life insurance and I'm also a Prince Hall Mason. today I called Lafayette and ask them where's the history of why it's called Lafayette and who is that with the crown on and they said oh general Lafayette you can look him up. I looked him up and realized how proud I am of his sacrifices and the fact that he is a brother made me even prouder to write insurance for Lafayette life insurance. I write for other companies as well but I'm a history buff and it will definitely be a blessing for Lafayette as I will continue to write more for them just based on the historical significance. it definitely gives them the edge but I want to thank you for putting this video together I'm putting together the history in my own mind so I can understand more about it and it's very clear very straightforward I love what he's done and I don't know how I missed this in my history lessons but today has been a great day I'm really proud thank you for sharing brother!!!

Just now stumbling upon your video and your channel for the very first time. Very interesting video, indeed. I definitely learned a lot. It is unfortunate that all of us growing up here in the United States never heard much if anything about this side of General Lafayette's overall biographical history.
Question though however unlike the Masons per se.....is the Freemason group supposed to be what the Knights Templar morphed into when they could no longer exist being known as the Knights Templar?
Sorry to sound so naive I know nothing of the Freemasons and no one in my family has ever been one.

The true origins of Freemasonry are lost to time. The Fraternity came out into public in the early 18th Century. The earliest documentation is the Regis Manuscript or Poem. Just Google that and you can research more.

Two more questions: 1) How come as school children here in the United States we never learned about him being a part of the Freemasons? I know I didn't. 2) Where did you hear that his family lost everything and became practically destitute? I don't think that's 100% true. There is actually one dwelling or one family structure in France that is still owned by downline descendants of his family.
In addition, it's important enough to include in your video however one of the remaining family holdings is located in a region of France called Auvergn (??). His Life and legacy is very much celebrated in that part of France.

Lafayette was imprisoned during the height of the French Revolution and at that time, his property and assets where seized by the Revolution. Later in his life and I believe with the help of Napoleon Bonaparte he was able to get some back.
As far as the Masonic history being taught in schools, I have no idea why it isn't
However, there were many Masonic Brothers involved in the Revolution and this is easily verifiable. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Everyone considered themselves to be a British citizen up until the war. They realized they were not being given the same rights as the people who lived in the UK, so they revolted when the mistreatment rose past a level they could tolerate.

    Proverbs 6:13-15 KJV
He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

I noticed that you bore false witness against Freemasonry in other comments. If you continue on to Proverbs 6:17 it states:
"A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood"
Need I remind you that one of God's commandments is to not bear false witness against your neighbor, so you are in fact sinning when you lie. I can't blame you, as you have been fed a whole bunch of nonsense about this great Fraternity. All I can do is to urge you to delve deep into what Freemasonry is and judge individual Masonic Brothers by their actions. You can start with the series of videos this one is a part of, as we talk an awful lot about Masonic Brothers in the American Revolution.
And remember what is said in Mathew 7:15-20.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
In short, and as I believe these words apply to this conversation, judge a man by his actions, not his words. Freemasonry gives over a million dollars a day to charities throughout the world and not just Shriner's Hospitals. We are here to make life better, not worship some anti-God.
And lastly, my comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for Freemasonry, Huguenot Lodge or any Masonic Body. I speak for myself as a Masonic Brother who loves God, this country and this great Fraternity.

The Bible encourages living in the light and being transparent. "For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light" (Luke 8:17).
Jesus' Teaching on Oaths: Jesus teaches against swearing oaths, emphasizing the importance of straightforward honesty. "But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one" (Matthew 5:34-37).
Freemasonry often teaches that all religions are valid pathways to the divine, which contradicts the Christian doctrine that Jesus Christ is the only way to God (John 14:6).
The use of esoteric symbols and rituals might be perceived as occult practices, which are condemned in the Bible (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).
The Bible warns against the worship of other gods and practices that might imply all religions are equally valid. "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3).
Jesus warns against serving two masters. "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24).
