Can you tell me why the tube from "Y" tube conector to steam port on my LG WM3470HVA front load washer swells and leaks at the connector? It seems like there is a build up of pressure in the tube and it causes a spray at the "Y" connector. There are a series of tubes that make up that singe line with a bunch of connectors with orange and blue colored check valve or screens in the series of tubes. I tried blowing through the tube and only a little air would go through. The tube leads to the front part of the washer drum. Can't find anything about it online. HELP

So...would one indicator of a leaking input valve be a constant drip-drip from the top of the front load washer just inside the door ? No leaking at the actual valve location, just inside the door from the top of the drum.
    Thx

What if the top doesn’t slide off after removing the indicated screws?

It WILL slide off, just might need some extra convincing. The first time I had to remove the top on my washer, I had to (carefully!) pry a little at the front edge to force the lid rearwards. Once that moved it a little, it slid right back and came off by hand.

What if there is loud whistling when the washing machine is filling? Almost like a tea kettle noise, does the inlet valve need to be replaced?

Is there a replacement valve that stops water hammer? A valve with a slow close valve?

Get a water hammer arrestor for washing machines. They work wonders and simply screw in line with the hoses. The ones you want are the Sioux Chief 660-H or 660-HB. You should also make sure you have high quality hoses to prevent flood, and lastly it is generally best to have elbow adapters to place on the machine for most setups. This provides strain-relief for the hoses and lets you pus the machine up to the wall.
