My dad had 127 free range chickens when I was young. If we opened the kitchen door we had to run for our lives. They would take the food bowl and all and we needed bandaids.😂 Mom made him fix a chicken coop. When he went away to work the heads flew. When he returned weren't but about 10 left for eggs. They finally ended up in the pot. Not Henrietta. ❤❤❤

I had a Dutch oven that was burnt on the bottom like that. I did a little research to find out how I could fix it. The method I use that work the best was boiling water in the pan. Let it cool. Slice a lemon in halfand dip it in salt. Then scrub scrub scrub. That seem to work the best. I hope this helps you.

The metal thing that came with your bread accessories is for holding the razor blade. It’s like a box cutter but for scoring your bread.
Also the chickens love to eat scraps but off the ground not a bowl. Just throw them out , promise they’ll all go right to it. Years and years of raising chickens you learn a few things and guess the rest ❤

Love your videos. Thanks for putting some happy into my day!
Bread tips from the Cordon Bleu: Never cut your bread until it's cool. Your bread will finish cooking and slice beautifully. (Carry over cooking, just like anything else you cook) It's hard when it smells so good, but give it a try.
Also, that looks like a carving knife , not a bread knife. Bread knives have larger serrated edges. That beautiful knife you have is great for slicing roasts, turkeys, chickens, hams, etc. You always find the best deals, that dutch oven, you stole that!
Hope you have a great day! 🧡

Hi Kim. Now that you’re a homesteader, have you thought of having a master list of things that you use almost every day so that you don’t have days when you start a recipe or process only to find that you don’t have everything you need. Such as parchment paper or vanilla. Speaking of vanilla, now that your homesteading and making your sourdough you’ll probably want to make your own vanilla. I’m looking forward to watching you make cheese. You’ll be great at making cheese. Love the clip of Meredith when her mind “breaks”. 🤯 so cute. 🤗

So true Kim, sourdough carbs are not really bread carbs! I loved watching Wolfgang riding his bicycle in the sunshine ☀️ It’s snowing here in Northern Nevada, we’re on a winter storm watch for this weekend. Yippee.. time to make sourdough and homemade chicken soup. I love your videos can’t wait for the next one.❤

Your videos always make me laugh, thank you for the morning laughs. The chickens escaping was hilarious one went in and another escaped. They keep you on your toes along with kids. You are amazing to manage the house, kids and now chickens.

Im eclectic in my styling too, I get so many comments on how nice it is and people feel comfortable. Definitely not a show home. The benefits are you can move pieces into different rooms and other still goes when you don’t just a specific style. Go for it.

You can ground on concrete!! It just doesn't work on tarmac. Clint Ober on You Tube has great videos on grounding.

Serrated knife for cutting bread will make it way easier!! Also just leave the bread to bake an extra 10 min without the lid and it will brown up nicely. I related to this video way more than I should 🤣

I just came from Florida, it was so nice to be able to get outside, anybody who lives here during this time of year is blessed because I am from North Dakota and I’m pretty sure we were pretty low on vitamin D and stir crazy. When we got back we drove right into a blizzard, it was pretty depressing.

W2 is the perfect mixture between Wentworth and Meredith! Your boys' names are amazing!
I'm making a "Charcut'" 😂 for my daughter's Birthday! The theme is "Rainbow" AND Indian. She wants to wear a Sari (Indian garment) and let her braids flow on her back (as if they were Indian hair! 😂) . We're African so, this should be fun! Oh and I have an Indian friend and she said absolutely my daughter is allowed to wear a Sari for her Birthday... or Halloween! My child was thrilled! Next year, we'll go country!

Like someone else said throw the scraps onto the ground for the chickens and they will love it! BUT every day take some bread scraps out and call them saying the same thing every time you do it. Then you won’t have to chase them if they get out. They will come running to you when you call them! Mine about run me over for bread and follow me wherever I want them to go!

I have had multiple fitness trackers and by far, the best quality has been my Garmin watches. They are so reliable. My Fitbits rarely lasted a year before they would die.
