The only time she missed uploads was when she took a several week break after her sister passed away. Rightfully so. She deserved to step back and grieve. But I was so worried then! I dont think these online families, who seem to take trips and have everything together, show the "real" side of life. But homes do get messy (especially with kids), and we get overwhelmed as mothers. We are normal! Don't be hard on yourself because I think most of us here can say that we look up to you! You do realize that is only part of their life? Maybe they don’t always want to show home life? And that’s fine. Who says they have everything together? Not everyone feels the need to show their life as is. It’s not right or wrong. I don’t watch channels because they are “normal” as if that exists. I watch them because it’s entertaining.

I follow a bunch of you tube mom channels because I work from home. As a mom of 3 sons and grandma to 5, Kim’s channel is so realistic. She shows us the messes which are very relatable! I get so tired of these other channels who are cleaning their houses that are already clean. You know they have cleaning people, which is fine, but never mention that part. Keep doing your thing Kim! You’re in the thick of being a mom, keep plowing through!! We appreciate you showing us what a normal house with kids is like!! ☀️☀️☀️

There is no reason they can't pitch in and clean up after themselves. I also had them cleaning the bathroom, bedroom, dishes,and help with laundry. Oh my sweet friend, I am a grandmother of four and still have my 23 yr old in college living with us....We have days of quiet and rest but we miss the days of chaos...when I was in the thick of rising my kids chores, carpool, dance, football,racing, etc. I was a hot mess sometimes but doing what I needed to do to rise my kids! I run a daycare from my home and it’s a lot to manage the inventory, it seems a lot like being a UA-camr, we can’t escape the clutter and the mayhem of work. You’re doing so much, managing so much, balancing massive amounts of various events, birthday season and the holidays on top of the hurricane. I’m very impressed by your fortitude and grit. Thanks for showing us reality. Life has ups and downs, yin and Yang and without them our life would be dull and bland. I feel like I just heard a therapy session and I get it. You are so hard on yourself but you just needed to vent which is a very healthy thing to do. If you don't vent you will bottle it up and be resentful towards your family and that will build up so much over the years. Now take a few minutes and remember all the wonderful things you did over that past week...... 💗
The other people have help, we do everything. The perfect influencers never show the reality and one of the many reasons we love you is because you do. You show motherhood/wife is not a walk in the park but its so worth it. No one understands what everyday entails being in our position unless they do it, good stay at home moms are super hereos in disguise
Tearing up listening to this. We adopted our nephew who is 5 earlier this year and saying it's been rough is a huge understatement. We've had him since October 2023. I'm in my late 30's and he's my first and only child. I'm overwhelmed so much because I feel like I should be better at this mom role by now. I sit back and pray and realize he and I are doing life together now and me being ok will help him and vice versa in terms of getting to a good place. Thanks for this.

When I start to compare myself to others on social media I think of what Jessica Braun said...watching a YT video of someone's life is only 30/90 minutes out of a whole week. So I looked up how many minutes in a week...it's 10,080 minutes. Wow does that ever put the videos into perspective. Your videos are among the few I watch that shows real life moments, even though you could edit them to look perfect. PLUS you just went through a major hurricane and had a huge party. I must say every week and everyday of the week you always put a video up! You are just like me as a Mom, I'm always taking care of someone when they're sick or hurting. I am always the person who takes my days and weekends taking care of our house, I'm always doing the dishes sometimes twice a day, laundry, vacuuming mopping, taking care of our animals, making dinner. The teens run off play every evening every weekend,I seem to never see or hear one of them offer or do their chores. I don't talk to anyone,I don't do anything, I'm depressed everyday.i can't say anything to anyone they always have an attitude towards me. But I always watch your videos! i went to school for psych and human behavior and it’s true that people on social media tend to only share the good of their lives and so when people are curating their page it may seem like only the good and cool is their life but it’s not so it creates expectations for people that aren’t always accurate. When I used to get overwhelmed after hurricanes or parties I would just put on some music. I also would always start in the kitchen and work out from there. As for dinner every night, once I got the meat out to thraw, I would just think about it throughout the day and decide then what to make with it. Like you protien, carb and veggies . Just do what you can and go on from there.

Good morning! Thank you for sharing your talk about “real life” issues. I struggle everyday with exactly what you are talking about. My husband and I are raising three grandchildren, ages 4, 13 and 20 ( in college). We both work full time. I cannot find enough time to get everything done and when I do things, I am just getting by. There just isn’t enough time in the day! We love every minute of our grandchildren and they keep us feeling young, but I always wish I could do more. The struggle is real, but we have to stick together, and we can get through it. 😊

Oh my sweet friend, I am a grandmother of four and still have my 23 yr old in college living with us....We have days of quiet and rest but we miss the days of chaos...when I was in the thick of rising my kids chores, carpool, dance, football,racing, etc. I was a hot mess sometimes but doing what I needed to do to rise my kids! Kim, don’t underestimate the insanity of working from home! I run a daycare from my home and it’s a lot to manage the inventory, it seems a lot like being a UA-camr, we can’t escape the clutter and the mayhem of work. You’re doing so much, managing so much, balancing massive amounts of various events, birthday season and the holidays on top of the hurricane. I’m very impressed by your fortitude and grit. Thanks for showing us reality. Life has ups and downs, yin and Yang and without them our life would be dull and bland. I can see you’re strapping on your boots and kicking butt and it’s inspiring to little old me over here, just trying to keep my life together for my family and daycare functioning for the families I serve. ❤

Kim.... this video came out at the very right time. Nursing my 3 week old baby and watching as you swim to shore after almost drowning with wave after wave , feels so like me right now. I haven't actually cleaned my house in 4 weeks. I just need to start 1 room at a time today. I'm so tired of seeing everything messy and dirty.
I feel like I just heard a therapy session and I get it. You are so hard on yourself but you just needed to vent which is a very healthy thing to do. If you don't vent you will bottle it up and be resentful towards your family and that will build up so much over the years. Now take a few minutes and remember all the wonderful things you did over that past week...... 💗
The other people have help, we do everything. The perfect influencers never show the reality and one of the many reasons we love you is because you do. You show motherhood/wife is not a walk in the park but its so worth it. No one understands what everyday entails being in our position unless they do it, good stay at home moms are super hereos in disguise
Tearing up listening to this. We adopted our nephew who is 5 earlier this year and saying it's been rough is a huge understatement. We've had him since October 2023. I'm in my late 30's and he's my first and only child. I'm overwhelmed so much because I feel like I should be better at this mom role by now. I sit back and pray and realize he and I are doing life together now and me being ok will help him and vice versa in terms of getting to a good place. Thanks for this.

Kim, thank you for staying honest and just being you. We are all going through hardship in this life. Some people just like to be fake or just don't want to show what's really going on. I lost my daughter a year ago she was 28 . It was an unexpected death. It's incredible how life just keeps going, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. When I start to compare myself to others on social media I think of what Jessica Braun said...watching a YT video of someone's life is only 30/90 minutes out of a whole week. So I looked up how many minutes in a week...it's 10,080 minutes. Wow does that ever put the videos into perspective. Your videos are among the few I watch that shows real life moments, even though you could edit them to look perfect. PLUS you just went through a major hurricane and had a huge party. Wow I'm tired just writing that. Always stay as you are. It's so refreshing 💜💙💚💛🧡

I must say every week and everyday of the week you always put a video up! You are just like me as a Mom, I'm always taking care of someone when they're sick or hurting. I am always the person who takes my days and weekends taking care of our house, I'm always doing the dishes sometimes twice a day, laundry, vacuuming mopping, taking care of our animals, making dinner. The teens run off play every evening every weekend,I seem to never see or hear one of them offer or do their chores. I don't talk to anyone,I don't do anything, I'm depressed everyday.i can't say anything to anyone they always have an attitude towards me. But I always watch your videos! I would like to take a moment to THANK YOU for this video because I am currently 35 weeks pregnant, having a bunch of Braxton Hicks, feeling like crap and not doing anything around my house. Yes my husband helps but I just feel like a bump on the log! i went to school for psych and human behavior and it’s true that people on social media tend to only share the good of their lives and so when people are curating their page it may seem like only the good and cool is their life but it’s not so it creates expectations for people that aren’t always accurate. When I used to get overwhelmed after hurricanes or parties I would just put on some music. I also would always start in the kitchen and work out from there. As for dinner every night, once I got the meat out to thraw, I would just think about it throughout the day and decide then what to make with it. Like you protien, carb and veggies . Just do what you can and go on from there.

Good morning! Thank you for sharing your talk about “real life” issues. I struggle everyday with exactly what you are talking about. My husband and I are raising three grandchildren, ages 4, 13 and 20 ( in college). We both work full time. I cannot find enough time to get everything done and when I do things, I am just getting by. There just isn’t enough time in the day! We love every minute of our grandchildren and they keep us feeling young, but I always wish I could do more. The struggle is real, but we have to stick together, and we can get through it. 😊

I feel that way lately too, and I haven't been through a hurricane, birthday parties, and I only have 2 kids who are in their 20s. :) But, I teach 14 2 year olds evry morning and I am wiped by the time I get home and have no desire to do anything. My family asked what was for dinner last night and I said "Sleep. Sleep is for dinner." When I heard the Hurricanes were heading for Florida, you and your family were the first thing I thought of. I even have relatives that live in Florida. I'm a single mom with a 10 year old, 9 year old and 4 year old. When you were saying how beautiful life is and just nature and things around us, it was what I needed to hear today. I'm so used to getting stuck in our routine but I live in Ohio and the trees are so vibrant now with oranges, reds and yellows and my life and our world really is so beautiful. Kim -- you're doing a great job! I think that social media has skewed our vision of "normal". I get it ... I work full time and come home at 5 and have to do it all. Dinner, laundry, after school sports, cleaning, grocery shopping... And there are moments when I feel absolutely overwhelmed. Parenting and adulting is hard !
