This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
You should do How Great Thou Art next, Adam Rupp the beatboxer has a short solo in that, but sings harmony throughout without beatboxing. It is one of their most beautiful songs with a video that is gorgeous to match.
You should hear Tim sing Will You Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. He covers Frankie Valli by singing all the parts of the song himself and uses all of his 5 octave range. Just incredible. Also check out Misty Mountains with Peter Hollins.

Great reaction! I think you will soon officially become a Home Fry! You are correct - the first singer (Tim Foust) normally sings bass and I've seen comments that he has a 5 octive range. I've also seen comments that when the group decides to do a song or cover, they all decide on whose voice matches it best and that person sings the lead. They are an extremely talented group of individuals. Adam Rupp (beat boxer) has several YT video excerpts from concerts that are amazing examples of his skills.
Home Free does not have a lead singer. The beatboxer will do harmony, but does not sing lead. He has a solo in HOW GREAT THOU ART. I am here for Adam Rupp's DRUM SOLO. I hope you get the red checked shirt link. Done in 2015 it is my favourite, because it gives you the basics and the crowd is very involved.
Sometimes they do their own arrangements. Sometimes they ask Geoff from Voiceplay do it. HF, Pentatonix and VP are always jumping into each other's videos and helping out. HF is so flexible. You've just started to see their talent. They can all beat box and do in their 9 to 5 stage performance. They all trade lead based on who sounds best for that song. They love their fans and are seriously good funny guys.
You have caught on to what Home Free has to offer quicker than any reactor i have seen. I am truly impressed with your reactions. I love everything thing HF does, even though i am not a fan of country. They always put their own spin on everything. It also doesn't hurt that they are all such eye candy. My sight and sound are both satisfied after a HF video. Anyway, going to sub and looking forward to more Home Free from you.
In my whole life I have never favored a single band or singer. But for a good year now, I can't get away from these talented guys. Home Free - these are five extraordinary talents with fantastic voices. Tim has a vocal range of 5 octaves, in my eyes one of the best singers out there right now. And Adam the beatboxer is world class, a sound machine on two legs LOL. If you want to hear more from both of them I recommend for Tim Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow from his Doo Wop album and for Adam the latest song from Home Free Ain't Going Down (Til the Sun Comes up).
These guys are crazy wonderful. First time I heard Tim sing was "My Maria" and I had no idea Home Free as a group existed. Was I shocked when I heard Tim's speaking voice after all of those super clear high notes. What is also great is how they all join in on the rhytms when one beat boxer just isn't enough. Adam Rupp has a couple of fantastic "drum solo" videos. Check those out. Hands down their "Butts Medley" is the most amazing Mashup of songs I've ever heard. The arrangements and transitions are phenomenal. I'm born and raised in Tennessee, yet country music has never been my thing. But everything these guys do is simply amazing and I just don't get tired of them. They also have an infectious way of simply brightening your day.
Tim definitely can sing like this because he has a 5+ octive range. You might want to check out some of Tim's solo videos. He's amazing. As are his bandmates.
Home Free is like a box of chocolates! You never know what you're going to get but whatever it is is perfection! This is my favorite of their cover songs (except for How Great Thou Art) not because of the lyrics but due to their production & the amazingly FULL sound! We usually ask the reactors to do several of their songs BEFORE they do this one so they know the guys' names & the normal parts they sing in the group but you did a pretty good job seeing the changes after one previous song. This is the only a cappella group I listen to because they're so unique, always surprising, humble, the most talented & goofiest! 😊
Yes, Home Free is a 5 man vocal group that has two basses, at least 3 baritones, 5 tenors and 1 beatboxer. Plus they write songs and either make their own arrangements or has their producer (a great acapella singer in his own right) Darren Rust do their arrangements. There have been a few I can think of that they didn't arrange ("Elvira" was arranged by Geoff Castelluci and "Butt's Medley" was arranged by Layne of Voiceplay, both being acpaella artists as well and friends.) Plus their live shows have humor in them as they interact with the audience. They do tend to sound different in each song they do. They can be as country as they want or not in their sound, depending on the song. This one they sang in the same key as the original artist, a female signer by the name of Cam. Adam, the beatboxer, does not sing often and when he does it is usually background. He has a lovely voice but doesn't feel as comfortable singing. You can spot it in a few videos but he does sing a short solo bit in "How Great Thou Art" He does do a solo in every live show and he is incorporating a bit more singing in that now. (There are recent ones with him messing with a live looper on stage and creating a complete "song" with it.) For fun, you should look at "Sea Shanty Medley" where you get to hear them trade off lead vocals and listen to the amazing beatboxing. Truthfully, it would be difficult to pick a bad one to look at. If you want to see a wide variety of what they can do style wise but in just one song "Butts Medley" is the one to go with. It is hilarious and meant for fun but they switch between country, rap, pop and rock seamlessly.
For another bass singer with an amazing range, you should check out Voiceplay, and their bass, Geoff Castellucci (he also does some stuff on his own). Their cover of "Oogie Boogie's Song" really shows off his range.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has a drum solo out there - fantastic! They change their style to fit the songs they do, always something going on! Pop, country, ballads, you name it... and they are often funny! Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range - you'd love his new d00-wop album!
Your reaction is great ! Lmao ! Omg ! Welcome to the homefree rabbit hole ! Lol.! These guys are nothing more than super talents ! All I can say is be prepared to have your head and mind blown ! I can take a number of covers and sujest to you but as a musician myself helplessly hoping is probably the most difficult cover they do and they do it extremely well !
Yep Tim the super bass in this group has a 5-octave range so he can sing high and super low Mariana trench-type bass. Home Free is very versatile, it's different every time That's why I love them, and all of them can sing too.
Thank you for reviewing HF. They are very versatile. I looked through the comments. A lot of good recommendations. Please review their collaboration on 'American Pie'.
You mentioned that you would like to see them on stage. Having just experienced that myself, I highly recommend it. Every note you hear on these videos is right there
Please listen to Helplessly Hoping from Home Free. These guys are so fun to watch live, never a dull moment. They keep you entertained with their talent and humor.
They are singing "Mayday" in the same key as Cam in the original song. It is always suggested listening to this song after becoming very family with their work. These boys are amazing!
Great reaction! Confusion to acceptance, gotta love it! They're one of the BEST groups out there, they do EVERYTHING! Anything they do is gold! They can take a song that I don't really like, and turn it into one of my favorites! They're one of the best rabbit-holes you'll ever go down!

Yes, this group brings it to every song with surprises and you don't know who all will sing leads as they bring out parts for the very best gift and talent to effectively make it their own...... Just for fun even if you don't do a reaction. Home Free - Workin' For A Living ua-cam.com/video/Li23QhaIKmM/v-deo.html They expose the song to very best of what they can bring to it with the gifts of each person in the vocal band with absolutely no instruments. Another one is their song - lyrics were written by Tim Foust and Keelan Donovan - Home Free - Snow Globe. ua-cam.com/video/a9i7qMw8vYc/v-deo.html They are by far the most diverse with music genre that is performed. This is the ultra max in Rabbit Holes.......... You are just getting started. You haven't even begin to reach the tip of the Iceberg with this group.... have fun.......
You must check out Geoff from Voice Play. He also has a 5 octave range. My favorite is Oogie Boogie Man.. but he's got some great solo stuff where he's singing 4 parts.
I know that Tim and Austin write songs. In fact one of Tim's jobs before he became a singer was to write songs, sing them on the demo and try to sell them to singers. They kept asking him why he didn't record them? He didn't think he was good enough!
Thank You for reacting to MAYDY I loved it! Their Talent speaks for itself and exposure lets more people enjoy it! You REALLY what to laugh and see just how Talented they are "BUTS MEDLEY" is a must! A mushed up song coving R&B, RAP, ROCK and COUNTEY. Of course it's all about "BUTTS"!
Home Free does a Garth Brooks Classic that features Adam Rupp's talents. Ain't Goin Down (Till the Sun Comes Up). This needs to be your next reaction. It can be found on their Facebook page, released about 3 weeks ago.
Adams sings in Hopelessly Hoping (Crosby Stills & Nash), How Great Thou Art, Auld Lang Syne, & a couple others I can't think of right now. He doesn't ever have a lead per say but if you are familiar with the band you can point out his voice. In How Great Thou Art there's a very short part where you can hear his voice clearer.
The guy you’re first talking about is Tim Foust, and yes.....he’s usually the bass singer. He also happens to have a 5-octave range, which means he can sing from extremely low bass to falsetto. The beat-boxer is Adam Rupp, and he has a solo video out (just google Adam Rupp solo). The long haired guy that was the lead singer is Austin Brown, the guy with the glasses is Rob Lundquist, and the “other” bass (the only bass on this video) is Adam Chance, called Chance to differentiate him from Adam Rupp. So, in order of lead vocal appearance is Tim Foust, Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, and Adam Chance, with Adam Rupp doing all the beat-boxing.
If you want to hear him go crazy with 2 harmonica solos, the you need to listen to them do Garth Brook's Aint going down till the sun comes up. He and they go wild, fast moving mouthful
Several of these guys (Tim and Chance both I think) are excellect at arrangements. So yeah, they do their own. I think the production work is done by someone else, but I don't doubt the guys chip in on that too. Cam should be rightly proud of this song and these guys treatment of it.
Excellent reaction! Love your enthusiasm - and your smile is so beautiful ! You need to hear 'When a Man Loves a Woman', 'Brothers in Arms', Folsom Prison Blues' - and many more ! They have quite a list of great songs ! (BTW, I have subscribed !)
I love when Adam Rupp sings! You can really hear him and How Great Thou Art. And if you have not seen any of his drum solos live you must he's not only a beatboxer he's a vocal percussionist!
This is Austin and he is a tenor and does a lot of the high notes in Home Free's songs. Tim Faust is their bass singer with a terrific range. To hear this range, listen to Tim's cover "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" which is also connected to another song titled "Stay".
At first I was thinking "no no, it's too soon", as many new HF reactors tend to not catch the switch until they know the guys a bit, but you caught it. I would like to recommend a few songs which varies in styles and/or are interesting vocally. 'Champagne Taste (On A Beer Budget)', 'Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks', 'Everybody Walkin' This Land'', 'This Is How We Roll', 'Helplessly Hoping', 'Land Of The Free', 'In The Blood', 'Love Train' and 'Blue Ain't Your Color', 'All About That Bass', "End Of The Road, "When A Man Loves A Woman". Songs that highlight Adam (the beatboxer): 'The Butts Remix', 'Can't Stop This Feeling', 'Sea Shanty Medley' and 'God Bless The USA' (without Lee Greenwood - They have two videos. I also recommend watching one of Adam's live drum solos, and their live 9-5 beatbox breakdown.
Acapella has changed from what so many believe it to be. Home Free is awesome. There is a other group Voice Play these two are far above any others as to breaki g the mold.
They are fabulous. Those voices! the harmonies! And Then what blows my mind completely 🤯 at some point in each song. It dawns on me that there are no instruments!
Adam, the beat boxer, has several solo videos on UA-cam and they are amazing. There are also several videos of them performing live and doing skits which are really funny.
If you want to hear Adam (beat boxer), listen to "How Great Thou Art". Their producer is also an excellent arranger and at least 3 of the guys also do arranging.
When Adam Chance comes in you can hear his low voice. He was sometimes below Tim Foust in "Man of Constant Sorrow" while being the didgerydoo throughout the song. He opened as a tenor in "Helplessly Hoping" and was joined in perfect tenor unison by Rob Lundgren. There's no beatbox in "Helplessly Hoping" so Adam Rupp is singing baritone down low with Tim Foust. They are all amazingly talented!!
Adam (beatboxer) does an amazing drum solo in their live performances, you can find it on UA-cam easily. He sings harmony in Helplessly Hoping and Brothers in Arms, and sings a short part in How Great Thou Art

How great thou art and helplessly hoping and brothers in arms Adam rupp ( beatboxer) sings
And on the cover of "Vincent" which they just released (co-op with original artist Don McLean).
This is a cover of a song from the female country singer Cam. Home Free chose to sing it in the same key as the original.
The greatest joy of HomeFree is the amazing variety they bring.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, sings a small solo and high harmony in “How Great Thou Art,” filmed in the mountains outside of Salzburg, Austria.
Would also recommend Home Free’s butt remix to so a fun and wide range on talent
Adam Rupp does sing in How Great Thou Art and also Helplessly Hoping. Check out his drum solo too
Your reaction is great ! Lmao !
Based on what I know Home Free has 2 bass singers, 2 baritones, 5 tenors, 3 high tenors, and 5 beatboxers. I could have some of that wrong though.
...Homefree "Blue Ain't your color"... you'll love it !
Yep Tim the super bass in this group has a 5-octave range so he can sing high and super low Mariana trench-type bass. Home Free is very versatile, it's different every time That's why I love them, and all of them can sing too.
From what I’ve read they do most of their own arranging but also Geoff’s Castellucci from voice play also works with them some.
Thank you for reviewing HF. They are very versatile. I looked through the comments. A lot of good recommendations. Please review their collaboration on 'American Pie'.
Loved your reaction 🔥☺️
Watch Home Free's Unchained Melody.....it starts with the bass.....so rich.
You mentioned that you would like to see them on stage. Having just experienced that myself, I highly recommend it. Every note you hear on these videos is right there
I love all of them, they are my brothers from other mothers! Peace, Love!!
You can find a drum solo from Adam Rupp (Beatboxer). It`s great!
In most acapella groups, everyone has their own lane. These guys are swerving all over the freeway.
You should check out home Free doing helplessly hoping. They do an amazing job
Love your reaction!
Please listen to Helplessly Hoping from Home Free. These guys are so fun to watch live, never a dull moment. They keep you entertained with their talent and humor.
Talent level is high.
They are singing "Mayday" in the same key as Cam in the original song. It is always suggested listening to this song after becoming very family with their work. These boys are amazing!
Each one of those guys is a lead singer. Tim has a 5 octave range. Good review. Thanks.
Great reaction! Confusion to acceptance, gotta love it! They're one of the BEST groups out there, they do EVERYTHING! Anything they do is gold! They can take a song that I don't really like, and turn it into one of my favorites! They're one of the best rabbit-holes you'll ever go down!
Loved both of your HF reactions so far so let’s get to some others that I think will also amaze you. Check out In The Middle, Fulsom Prison Blues, Ring Of Fire, Some Girls Do, Can’t Stop The Feeling & DEFINITELY do The Butts Remix. HF fans are known as Home Fries & I promise we’re ready to make this journey with you so let’s get to it !! I would NEVER steer you wrong & have NEVER lied to you before so trust me on this.
Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get it On is a great song and a great video. Brothers in Arms is the song of a dying Soldier.
Tim takes pride in achieving a completely different voice in his higher register. He worked hard at it 😁
Yes, this group brings it to every song with surprises and you don't know who all will sing leads as they bring out parts for the very best gift and talent to effectively make it their own......
Just for fun even if you don't do a reaction. Home Free - Workin' For A Living ua-cam.com/video/Li23QhaIKmM/v-deo.html
They expose the song to very best of what they can bring to it with the gifts of each person in the vocal band with absolutely no instruments.
Another one is their song - lyrics were written by Tim Foust and Keelan Donovan - Home Free - Snow Globe. ua-cam.com/video/a9i7qMw8vYc/v-deo.html
They are by far the most diverse with music genre that is performed.
This is the ultra max in Rabbit Holes.......... You are just getting started. You haven't even begin to reach the tip of the Iceberg with this group.... have fun.......
"Helplessly Hoping" is another example of their amazing talent.
One thing I love about this band is they let each other shine. Each time you hear them a different one takes the lead.
You must check out Geoff from Voice Play. He also has a 5 octave range. My favorite is Oogie Boogie Man.. but he's got some great solo stuff where he's singing 4 parts.
This was originally released by a female country artist named Cam. Home Free sang it in the same key she did it.
Great reaction/review! Home Free doesn't have a bad performance.
They did a collaboration with Don McLean for the 50th anniversary of his classic "American Pie" The beatboxing is pretty impressive in that.
You can't go wrong with any Home Free song. There are so many to choose from so it's hard to pick just one song.
Tim's F1 bass would vibrate you out of your seat. lol That was a great reaction, Anastasia.
The beat boxer, Adam Rupp, has a video of him doing a drum/beatbox solo at a live Home Free concert.
I love this song! This is my favorite group - Home Free!!
The beatboxer is Adam Rupp. He is insanely good. You can check his pretty long “drum solo” on youtube. He is fantastic.
If u like them. 2 songs I recommend of theirs is "Mississippi Delta", and "when a man loves a woman". They r my all time favorite songs they have.
This is Austin and he is a tenor and does a lot of the high notes in Home Free's songs. Tim Faust is their bass singer with a terrific range. To hear this range, listen to Tim's cover "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" which is also connected to another song titled "Stay".
I have watched over 100 of their videos and everyone is different and amazing.
Adam does an actual "drum solo". It was recorded live at one of their concerts. You can search Home free or Adam Rupp for it on UA-cam.
I think both of their versions of Ring of Fire would tickle your Tim Foust fancy!
Tim has a 5 octave range, A0 to B5, and goes from basso Profundo to tenor !
As for the beatboxer, look for Adam Rupp drum solo
One of my favorite songs and videos.
You would like their concerts. They are not just singers but all-around entertainers. Lots of funny bits.
😁 I just love these guys!!! 😉 Talented, Genuine, and Fun! 👍
Tim Foust has a 5 octave range and has solo stuff out as well.
The individual can sing as well as together ❤
They do it them self and they all change up with the composition. If you have time listen to their original songs that is also beuatifull
To hear a bit of Adam, beatboxer, How Great Thou Are, vocals or Ring Of Fire for superb beatboxing 😉🔥
They write their own 90/ per cent of the time. Adam the beatboxer very seldom sings. He has a lovely tenor when he does. Check out How Great Thou Arth
