Since Finders Keepers and Goodwill are right next door to each other in Shrewsberry, this video starts out at Finders Keepers and ends at Goodwill. I didn't have enough footage for two separate videos and decided to marry them into one. Sorry for any confusion! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Sometimes you hit it big sometimes not, but every time it is an adventure. Thanks for sharing Jocelyn, even when the pickings are slim. Have a great day!
George the Antique Nomad has mentioned you a couple of times lately!! Shame you drove all that way and didn’t find much, but if you don’t go to these places you’ll never know what they have. Thanks again for all this great output from here in the still locked down 🇬🇧
Those spaghetti glasses were fabulous, as was the dog. Lived that GPS was trying to guide you through the store. LOL I didn't really care for that Finders Keepers. Their prices were higher and that was with the old tags. Thanks for another fun shopping trip!
The black and gold round tray has the West Point insignia on it. Go Army ! The cute woven basket is woven using the needles from Southern Pines. I watched them being made at the Florida State Fair.
Fabulous owls!! Cool Spaghetti glasses. I've never seen those before. Love the wooden bird. Although modern, I would have bought the bee pitcher/vase thing for my Honey Bee (daughter). As always, thanks for taking us along!
If you & Sue have decided to part ways, please be transparent & let us know. The interaction between you two was great. Thanks for your cheery attitude.
I think they are catching on to us resellers. But it's the hunt that makes it fun. I got a Imperial Stretch Carnival for four dollars yesterday at an antique mall.
I understand that they were closed for a couple months, but seems to me that their prices have gone up substantially. I get it that they are needing to profit, but they have to remember that their customers haven't been working either!
Your owl addiction is contagious. Watched one of your videos the other day and had a dream that night about finding a stained glass window with an owl in a tree. Now you're affecting my unconscious. ...LOL.
Thank you for taking me shopping with you. I loved the writing bureau in Finders Keepers. The kitchen utility cabinets reminded me of my late ex mother in law's kitchen, she had something very similar and used it daily.
Jocelyn..You sounded a bit disappointed after Finders keepers?'Don't be..It will slowly get better, like you said.Be choosy! You are a Pro and know your profit margin. It never fails you?'Well maybe sometimes???🤣😉
Those egg cups were old. Some less sophisticated countries simply marked their goods "foreign" between 1893 and 1923 meaning it was their export product, going outside their own country.
I love Shrewsbury, we go there all the time. It's an hour from my house in Baltimore. Also, a plus is the Shrewsbury market, it's not discount but they have some great stuff. With all those owls, they knew you were coming...lol
Two places one video. That was fun. Bit pricey at finders keepers. Seems like the stores have raised prices since shut down. Even in Indy where I live.
Hi Andrea. I live in Indy too, on the north side. I haven’t been out yet. Do you have some favorite places to shop? I sometime go to Pendleton. But I know there is a good flea market on the South side that my daughter goes to sometimes. Have a great day!
LucyVanPelt I live in Noblesville. I really go all over the place. Haven’t been out to Pendleton in forever. Need to go visit. FYI I’m planning a meet and greet in August for all of us Thrifter’s and resellers and collectors. Misty maybe Jeffery and others will hopefully attend.
Andrea Joseph Andrea, I’m just down River Road from Noblesville. My friend, Jody, is hoping to open a booth in New Castle. She is from Noblesville, used to work at Syd’s, then became an RN and worked at Riverview. I sent her your information. I sent you a friend request on Facebook...using my real name. 😂👍🏼
I know it’s entirely your choice but I still think if something modern catches your eye and it’s good quality then people would buy it. You just make it clear in the listing as always, the description says it’s modern. People shop online to get things they can’t get in their area - vintage or modern, and if it comes from a reputable site like yours they will know, modern or not, they are getting good quality. Those 2 cute bunnies are a good example for $1.99 I bet they would have brought in a good return. Just have a separate section in your shop
I totally agree with Lynne de Lacy. I was just getting ready to write a comment about modern pieces when I saw her comment. I think you should consider sprinkling in a piece or two or three of something you considered modern. I feel as though you pass up so many beautiful modern pieces just in the small goods that could easily be resolved for a profit. I think you are missing out on business by bypassing these objects. The average person does not know modern from vintage and as long as they’re like some thing, they will buy it. Again, it’s just my opinion that you should allow more modern pieces in your line and expand your inventory.. Unfortunately, as the pricing for everything in this country is going up, so goes your trade. PS: in this video I have heard you say “it’s too modern” so many times that it’s rather ironic that I would be writing this. give it some thought. Your first love will always be the antiques and a vintage but I certainly would sprinkle the inventory with a little bit of modern if you see something that you really like oh. Your Fanbase likes what you like so think about it. Again I only offer these suggestions because I want to see you make it big time
That honey jar, with the bee's painted on, was missing a honey dipper. I don't think it needed a spout. By the way, I love watching you videos. I glad you were able to continue to make videos.
Cyd in MD. Glad you liked the Shrewsberry FK. That's the one we go to when we hop over from Maryland. I hope you had time to visit the Amish Farmer's Market. They have lots of goodies for dinner or snacks :-)
May you have better luck elsewhere than I did today. It was re-opening day for my Good Will, who I call the Ill Will for cause. I spent $5 plus tax. Total. They had some little plates from Limoges and some Italian pottery, I don't sell ceramics, but not a single piece of jewelry. I think they sent it all to an online auction or something. They did have a Coach purse out, but it had too much wear. Time to go elsewhere for both of us.
Joce, I am loving your hair right now. It's looking very modern and mod, especially with those shades. Thanks for keeping us and it together during the quarantine! 🤗🤗🤗
Oh wow loved the dubbed over format. You have been pretty hard to hear lately with your mask. I was shocked you left all those owls behind , not even the round one for your personal collection. 😂I think the pricing and how modern most of the stock was through you off. Sometimes it just takes the wind out of your sails 😞 Fab job on putting up comps and Average solds. Absolutely loved it 😍 I was surprised you didn’t look at the two pink lustre wear swans. A bit disappointing in purchasing but wow great job in video style. 🦄 You are amazing girl. See yah tomorrow😃
I was disappointed with that Finders Keepers. It was too modern. I really enjoy when you take us into the others.I still enjoyed the video but like the others better. Stay safe and God Bless
Jocelyn, I have a question. A few9 months ago while shopping you found a piece of pottery I love.I’m not sure if it was Eldreth or not but it was salted glazed with a blue vine around the top part of it. I was ready to get bidding but you decided to keep it. You often have your coffee in it. My question is who makes it? I have been looking for 3 years for that exact thing. I am a huge fan of Salmon Falls pottery out of Dover, Nh. Which is very similar to Eldreth and all the blue and white pottery. Is it an actual coffee mug or a vase or crock? Would love to know so I can broaden my search. All mugs/cups and even steins are too small or bulky. Thanks for any info you can tell me about it.
Not trying to sound like a know it all because I’m far from that lol but Magenta makes Rae Dunn and they also make things from other artists as well. I don’t believe that one is Rae’s. I love the owl tray. It’s too bad it was so much and had the scratches.
@@CrazyLampLady Yes! Thank you for answering me! I have a Mary Gaston book and it shows up to 13" celery trays so I am having a very hard time differentiating. Do you have a source that talks about the difference?

As in England or USA?
This finders keepers is keeping all it over priced crap!
I really miss you and Sue together. Will there be more of you two? I watch you every day and you teach so well. Thank you for everything.

Those spaghetti glasses were fabulous, as was the dog. Lived that GPS was trying to guide you through the store. LOL I didn't really care for that Finders Keepers. Their prices were higher and that was with the old tags. Thanks for another fun shopping trip!

LOVED that metal owl at 12:34 in the video!!!

I think they are catching on to us resellers. But it's the hunt that makes it fun. I got a Imperial Stretch Carnival for four dollars yesterday at an antique mall.
I just bought the sugar that matches the Tyrol pitcher you just picked up. Sold price on eBay 25.00. Got mine at Goodwill for 1.99. Made in Austria.
Shrewsbury Is a great little town. Go back on a weekend, hit the Dutch Market, and then the barn full of treasures next door.
My favorite place you have found. The Amish market is my weakness to get candy, fudge and baked goods.
I understand that they were closed for a couple months, but seems to me that their prices have gone up substantially. I get it that they are needing to profit, but they have to remember that their customers haven't been working either!
This was a different finders keepers than I usually go to. I had never been to this one before.

I had to go back to hear where you were. You said Shrewsberry, and I’m in Shrewsbury, UK 🤓

Wow on the prices but unfortunately it was to be expected with all this mess! Great video!❤
The differance with the voice-over is night and day. I can actually hear you! I think having to talk through the mask makes your voice sound muffled.
All she needs is a little microphone and it will sound like you are standing right next to each other.
The pink planter is American Bisque, most likely from my view of the bottom. and I love it! 10 is great price to flip
I suspected American Bisque from the wedged base! I appreciate the input! I hadn’t had any other feedback about it.
This finders keepers doesn’t seem to as much vintage as your usual store

We shop at the Shrewsbury Market on our way TO Baltimore to visit my daughter. Lots of yummy treats there.
Swans are covented in the UK. They are counted each year by the queen of England. So UK customers might buy them.
Yikes, that Finders Keepers prices were outrageous.
Oh well slim pickings today, but cheer up, it is still fun to go looking for treasures with you!!!
