Shanks nailed it. That's exactly WHY Stargate is the best Sci-fi to date
We watched because it was very well written. And when the actors improvised, it was done well.
I watched it for the reason chris said. My sci fi ranking is doctor who, star wars, stargate, buffy and a pretty sizeable gap to 5th. Dr Who was off the air and star wars hadnt become cringe worthy when tealc rescued 3 members of sg1
The chemistry is they key to their success

Stargate SG 1 is in my top 10 series!
stargate killed most of the other new and some old sicfi shows for me because it was so cool and well made and most of the others dont live up to that
my gosh look at the size of Christopher Judge's biceps, ...so lovely....
plus I love how Browder and Shanks are wearing the same jacket but slightly different colors ;p too adorable.
Wow, now I miss SG1 and Farscape.

@Anawiel12 I completly agree, though I truly wish they wouldn't have cancelled either SG1 or SGA. SGU feels more like a drama then sci-fi. Indeed, they are in space, but there's rarely anything else that happens. I just wish they landed on more planets and met more alien races, and explore and stuff. I'd really like the show if they made it more like star trek, where they are at the edge of the universe and meet alien races while trying to get home.
Shanks was right. It showed modern day people trying to catch up to the future. Without the Asgard though I think Earth would have been conquered
If you split the screen down the middle of Chris the Ben and Michael are doing the same thing like mirroring each other most of the way through the vid, especially when it's Chris talking. :)
Notice how they avoided answering about teh Ark of Truth itself?
Giving them benefit of the doubt, maybe they misheard the question or were worried that they might say too much about the film if they properly answered the original question.
@isal3 we have already kind of met both in SG-1 and Atlantis... some humans are in some ways descended from ancients and, course, we have actually met some ancients, namely with Daniel Jackson. Now, what I think would add a cool twist is if they came across a race like the ancients but different, and not evil like the Ori lol, just some powerful beings that are like a cross between ancient and asgaard or something... powerful but nearing the end of their time kind of stuff
The reason people love the show was that Kurt Russel rocked the movie so hard that people watched the tv show for years still thinking of KR.
I had a hard time getting into SciFi back then SG1 was so much more relatable because 1 in the post 9/11 landscape Soldiers were front and center in our daily lives it was nice to see a show that was detached from current events that still showed our military in a positive light 2 you had this team of capable people that were flying by the seat of their pants trying to figure out how to fight a technologically advanced enemy they had successes and failures they weren't perfect making them that much more relatable.

SG1 was a awesome show, SGA after that, and SGU is lost for the moment so hopefully they figure it out
Idk, I really agreed about the fact that the sci fi tv always remains regardless of trends. Looks at Star Wars, Stargate, Startrek, Enterprise
@Jmstraubgamer he was in one of the movies as a guest appearance, you got to remember her is 61 years old, ive met him as well and he is a bit fragile now but still the best

@LaeAnnaMarie boo, naw he didn't ruin it. the Ori did. they were such crappy bad guys. but i liked Mitchell. though that could be a bleeding effect from how much i love John Chrichton in Farscape. (who Ben also plays.)

@73Stargazer ya i agree with ya, the ori were too much they pulled new bad guys out of a hat just like that. they had soo many options with the existing universe. could have taken the story to help the jafa build an empire, they could have emphasized on the newly free humans in the galaxy wanting revenge on the jafa. they could have brought other human races in that were xenophobes with the gould around but now coming into the galaxy but not so friendly. even wrath spilling into milky way.

SG1, I miss... sucked how it ended with only 10 seasons... ^_^
SGU really suckz... might as well put in batman to make it more exciting.
sg1 and to a degree atlantis had an amazing chemistry together. sgu is devoid of it, has bad story plots and it seems the budget for production was slashed by half
Heh, Browder's face when Judge said there was no other Sci Fi shows on, priceless. Sorry but Farscape owned SG1. The greats are always cut short.

lol ummm the first time . i also cryed when vala died in that fire thin and when vala and daniel got together when he was being a dick. ( i understand why he was being like that but he went way to far...for my taste anyway)
