Got back into SG-1 recently and by God has it aged like fine wine. The characters are memorable, the humor is top notch, the lore and world building were really well done. It was a great expansion on the original film. I'd even argue I love it more than Star Trek/Wars. And I love both of those franchises (before Kurtzman and Disney fecked them up respectively).
My sentiments exactly Tenth Planet. While you can see progressive themes in Stargate it never went full woke. I think it's a better TV show than the others for many reasons and it feels like it has a longer legacy outside of Dr. Who, and didn't fall into disgrace like the other popular sci fi franchises mentioned
Tis a good show. =) if you haven't watched Farscape or Babylon 5 yet, I'd give them a go. Also another that's good, not really on the same level but there are still people who enjoy the show (myself included), is Space: Above and Beyond. Humanity goes out to colonize space but an incident starts a war between humans and an alien race. The show is centered around a group of fighter pilots called the Wild Cards as the war goes on. Sadly, it was another show that had great potential but was canceled by Fox after one season.
SG-1 and Atlantis are just awesome shows (SG-1 more so but still) and will give you hours and hours and hours of great entertainment. SGU is alright for the most part, but it just never got a full shake and since it's only 2 seasons, it just ends with a whimper. I'd also recommend after watching all of SG-1 and even Atlantis, for you to watch the 2 SG-1 movies - Ark of Truth and Continuum. Both are really good, and put a nice exclamation point on the series (if there isn't ever any new stuff from it that is).
Landry did not replace Hammond. When Don S Davis left for health reasons, It worked out for RDA to start phasing himself out so he could spend time with his daughter... Hammond was promoted from leader of SGC to being in charge of Homeworld Command and O'Neill got promoted to leader of SGC. So O'Neill replaced Hammomd A year later Hammond retired and O'Neill got promoted to in charge of Homeworld Command and Landry took O'Neill's place as leader of the SGC. So O'Neill replace Hammond twice and Landry replaced ONeill as leader of SGC. Please get it right
I really thought that McGillion walked away from the show. I was surprised that they chose to kill him off for shock value. It's a shame because although I really like Staite and they used her very effectively, Carson was an outstanding character and the show did lose something without him. Although I loved Janet as a character, I didn't really feel like the show was different without her and Doig did a nice job in her role the last 2 seasons (despite appearing too young for the part of head doctor on the most important military base on the planet).
I always found it fascinating that they wanted to use the same character name so badly they just replaced the original actor. Higgenson was much better in the role anyway, but it's odd to recast someone who only appeared in a few episodes.
@@SDesWriter I respect your opinion and in my opinion I would've preferred they create a new character since Jessica was not available. I preferred her portrayal to Torri's due to her voice wasn't screechy nor did she whine like Torri. Seemed like whoever was running Atlantis they were always whining due to Rodney was written like a pubescent 40 year-old teenager, so they would've probably had Jessica's version whining as well, but at least she wouldn't be screeching when she whined.
i heard another reason- that she was written off the show because she started demanding more money for the role...i thought she did a really good job as Weir, but i also wasn't thrilled when they just got rid of the original actress who played her...
SG1 typically had very natural handling of casting changes. Like Daniel ascending made perfect sense in-universe, and so did Jack and Hammond getting promoted or retiring. Jonas felt a little forced, mostly because they leaned into the "quick study" thing too hard, but he was likeable enough that it was okay. Vala and Mitchell were also pretty natural, like the first time Vala appears on screen you know you want her to stick around. And Mitchell played the part of "new guy on SG1" very well.
The reason I cannot watch Farscape is because I see Ben an Claudia as Mitchell and Vala and not as those characters. But in the first episode on Prometheus with Vala, it was such a good episode that actually had a small budget so the actors had to cary the episode most of the time and they did a great job. Mitchell felt like a younger O’Neill at first but he had his own moments that stood out for me
I don't think Jonas being a quick study was too much of a stretch. If you think about it, the other SG-1 members adjusted very quickly as well. There are lots of people who can read insanely fast and memorize entire books with ease. They're usually too smart to serve in the military, though; the military doesn't actually want geniuses, because they're harder to predict and control, and a rogue genius could be very dangerous. The police is the same way; if your IQ is too high, it's unlikely you'll get in.
@@honzasenbauer612 Farscape came out long before they showed up on SG1. I had a hard time NOT seeing them as John Crighton and Aryn Sun. It took me awhile. :-)

Teryl Rothery's death was so touching and unexpected. They made sure that we thought it was O'Neill the victim but ended up being her. Totally have not seen it coming and I admit, I was shoked as hell when I saw the episode's footage of her being blasted while tending wounds. I shed manly tears to her death and Samantha's speech at the end. Her death and the episodes themselves (I think it was in 2 parts) made it one of the most memorable ones of any series I watched ....in the top 10 for sure.
As much as Amanda Tapping leaving _Stargate_ was a pity, her being in _Sanctuary_ was great. That show was brilliant. If you haven't seen it, go watch it.
How exactly did she leave though? She did all 10 seasons, both movies and a season in stargate Atlantis (which while related to Stargate SG1 is still a different show). The show ended, she didn't leave.
@@Camazotz-kz9wr i read that Amanda was offered to continue leading the Atlantis expedition in season 5 but since she only had the time to focus on one specific project, she chose to work on Sanctuary instead of Stargate, so, technically, she *did* leave at one point
Thanks for the Rec. I remember starting it when it aired, but just didn't like it. Despite the golden age of streaming channels there is such a colossal drought of proper shows that I might just watch Sanctuary even if I don't end up liking it.
RIP Don S. Davis, he was the best general. Also he had an extensive knowledge of the military and commanding in real life, so the role was great for him.
Little do they realize that if you kill off the beloved characters, your die hard fans drift away. We don't need you to shake things up by destroying characters, we want to to build and grow their storylines. 🙄😑🤦♀️
Couldnt agree more, shake things up, what does that even mean? Like you say, it wold have been much better to develop and expand on a beloved character, rather than just killing them off. What is the point of developing them to a certain point, in the case of Janet Fraiser(adopting Cassie, exploring and developing possible storylines), only to kill her off?
Yeah, did it attract new veiwers? If you are producing high quality shows, then why do you need to pull a stunt like this. What is even more annoying, is that every main character(all main characters are protected by plot armour), gets to appear in Atlantis, and there are some great moments, the best for me is Daniel and McKAY. Just imagine the mouthwatering prospect of Beckett and Fraiser.
YES! I have quit more than one show bc they started killing off the reasons I was watching. I left Grey's Anatomy when they killed George, and since then they've killed half their cast, only one of the originals left, glad I didn't stick around to watch it. Left Walking Dead in the 2nd or 3rd season, too long ago to remember.
@@rstrajt9220 It was a very bad move, the y could have developed her character, expanded it even more, and what about poor Cassie, she loses her family along with her entire civillizationm is then used as a living bomb, and the loses her adoptive mother. Based on Daniel Jackson's comment to Jack O'Neil asking if we get paid for this upon his return to the show I'm guessing that was a wink and a nod towards a dispute about pay.
its on netflix or prime right now, but they did that stupid thing where season 1 and season 4 are available but not the rest, so its a hard pass. also after watching a few of season 1, before i realized season 2 was not offered, its not as good as i remember and actually just more of the same sg-1 type stuff which is fine for a rainy saturday afternoon while you do anything else, but its not good tv. the cgi is very dated too and a distraction as to how bad it is. even the backgrounds are bad. cardboard on a studio lot would have been more convincing. tappings english accent is ridiculous as well. bah, i could go on....and on, but really, its bad. and jack the ripper as your ex? oh sure, its a been a few years so we'll give you a pass on all those murders. join the team! hang out with my daughter!
I really like that little by little there is more stargate content in the media, hopefully this exposes the series to the new minds and create a little bit of pressure on the MGM producers to create a new series
Michael Shanks left the show temporary because he wanted more money per episode, and he wanted his name at the front of the credits, the producers said no, so he was written out of Stargate, then some time later, he agreed on price per episode, and started a new contract, and was written back in.
There was also a huge outcry online that he come back to the show as he had a huge fan following. What you're saying probably went inline with that which allowed him to come back. But yeah, this narrator definitely never saw Stargate.
Television's golden age was when 2 Stargate Shows aired at the same time. Man, I wish I was enthusiastic about today's TV shows as when I was waiting for the newest SG1 / Atlantis episodes. :(
My hearts pounding was there more to then just being cancelled? If you were in to it and followed them hard as i did, nothing was really a surprise here.

Always was a fan of the franchise. One weakness: I don't recall any plausible reason being put forth as to why everyone on all worlds traveled to spoke English. They could have hypothesized that traveling thru the gate somehow changed you in some mysterious way and enabled understanding of alien speech.
Yeah, I can't believe that I only realised that when I rewatched Atlantis last year. They should have just said that the stagates have some sort of translation software so that when you pass through them you can communicate with the inhabitants of that world.
They didn’t... duh. The Goa’uld understood, due to reigning earth. During the first few episodes it’s clearly shown that the alien humans DO NOT speak English. They were taught due to the teams from earth showing up everywhere
I think this is one of the issues that we collectively decided is not relevant. You can make a movie or an episode about the language barrier issue but for the sake of functionality of a franchise/TV show it is best to just ignore it.
One of the unsung heroes of Stargate: Atlantis was the Property Master, Kenny Gibbs. Another was Christopher Heyerdahl (incidentally, a cousin of Thor Heyerdahl through his Father), who contributed so much to the establishment of the Athosian people from the first episode.

@7:36 min. The original actress to portray the role of Dr. Elizabeth Weir was played brilliantly by Jessica Steen, but for only 2 episodes at the end of season 10 of Stargate SG-1. So,............ can anyone give input on why she wasn't abled to reprise her role for the following season 11 and perhaps to Stargate Atlantis?
She was contracted for those episodes only because they didn't know if there was going to be another season. When they got the go ahead for another season, she was already under contract with another TV show.
Landry didn’t replace Hammond. O’Neill replaced Hammond. Landry replaced O’Neill. Amanda Tapping never left the series. When SG-1 was cancelled, she finished her contract on Atlantis, did another movie, then a guest spot on Universe.
What TPTB did to Torri Higginson was despicable. This totally glosses over how they screwed her over and why she didn't return for Weir's last appearance. The same is true of Teryl Rothery too.
I have seen an interview in which Teryl is asked if she can remmember when she was asked, and by who? She replies, January, Robert Cooper. This is around thirteen or fourteen years later, even after all those years she is clearly upset, she explained how she didnt feel good, she felt devastated(Paul McGillion says the same), just dont understaned why you would treat people in that way.
@@DavidSmith-fs5qj Because as much as producers, crew and cast members think of themselves as family, when the network signing your checks says "jump" the producers say "how high?". Show business is after all just that: a business. Now to be fair, the producers of both shows went to great lengths to make sure that the episodes that saw the exit of a beloved character were well done and would be beloved by fans. "Heroes" in particular is one of the best episodes of SG1 imo. They also never failed to make sure that the characters brought in to replace the departed actor would fit the bill and would be liked by fans. They also brought back Beckett after killing him off, which felt like a deliberate screw you to the network after they'd forced out both Beckett and Weir within months of each other.
@@redshirt49 I used to watch The Six Million Dollar Man(back in the seventies), they introduced The Bionic Woman and i loved her. Then they killed her off. He recieved a call from the network telling him to kill her off. He couldn't belive what he was hearing, WHY, he asked? "We don't need a reason, just do it", came the reply. So he killed her off. There was a massive backlash, and he recieved another call telling him to bring her back. That line, "we don't need a reason, just do it", has always stuck with me, great bussiness acumen. Yo say that the producers went to great lengths to make sure that the exit of a beloved character was well done, really? When Janet gets killed, we hardly see her, not much of a send off, as for her replacement, well, we didn't get one, we saw a few token doctors, can you remmember them, without checking? Heroes was one of the poorest episodes in the shows history imo, i could write a novel on how bad it was, we will just have to agree to disagree on this.
@@DavidSmith-fs5qj I guess we will disagree on it, yeah. What I liked about it is precisely that she didn't really appear in it. At its core, SG1 wanted to be a military show. Battlefield casualties aren't drawn-out or telegraphed. We'd seen many soldiers die in this manner throughout the show's run, but it was always a background event. By the end of that episode you didn't even remember the dead guy's face. Much less his name if they ever bothered to give him one. So this was a good way to make it stick to the audience how sudden it is and how unexpected and devastating it is to their colleagues and loved ones. As for her replacement, well a permanent one didn't come until Season 9, who I do in fact remember without a problem because it was Lexa Doig, playing Dr. Carolyn Lam who had good chemistry and a lot of scenes with Beau Bridges. She was a significant addition to the show, being Michael Shanks very real wife and all.
Couldnt agree more, shock value, thats all it is. Lets face it, they are never going to kill off a major character, the only circumstances in which that happens, is when the actor playing them expresses a desire to leave, and it does piss the fans off when, instead of expanding and developing a character, they just kill them off.
A fan of the show told me once that there was a point where they considered changing the name of the show to Stargate Command... after Anderson left the show presumably.
@@Byrnzi360 As far as I know Stargate Command was going to be a "new" show. SG-1 would have ended after season 8. I don't think anyone in the higher ups ever said why they decided to continue with the SG-1 name instead.
Im still remembering the 4 dead men from the Recon team in the 1994 film. It kinda sucks how their deaths never ever get mentioned, even in the movie and shows.
One of the things Michael Shanks said when he left in the 6th season was he was embarrassed being in SG1. He said he felt "stupid" having cardboard boulders thrown at him and he couldn't wait to get back to real acting. Only thing is, no one else wanted him and he couldn't make nearly the money he was making on SG1. He begged the PTB's to let him come back. I wish they had left Corin Nemic in and left Danial dead.
Whist I'd like a new Star Gate, I'm worried about what they'd do to the series. After seeing people destroy Star Wars and Star Trek, I don't think that current tv show producers would treat the shows universe with respect and would only use it to push their own agenda instead of telling meaningful and entertaining stories.
Dr. who is another great example. And we can see this in SGU, for it is in myopinion much worse (exept for the last couple off episodes) than SG-1 and Atlantis

The deaths of Carson and Fraser made my cry every time I watched the episodes from the original airing to this day. Daniel died so maany times we all knew he would come back at asome point.
I agree. Daniel, Jack, Sam and Tealc, were main characters, they were always saved by plot armour. To say that Fraiser was only a supporting character is totally unfair. I don’t think you’ve done justice to the explanation re: Torri Higginson. Weir was essentially written out of the show, but then a replicator / Asuran clone of her, still played by Higginson, made at least two further appearances. What I would’ve liked to hear, is why the Atlantis producers weren’t able to get her back, for an episode that was essentially Weir’s final appearance, but the writers instead contrived a way for a different actor to play her role, who had previously played a kind of “replicator gynoid” invented by the Atlantis team’s scientists, as a weapon to destroy the Asuran homeworld. This same actress was called on again, to play the “Repli-Weir” role, as she led a dissident group of Asurans, who hoped to achieve ascension.
Paul McGillion(Carson) was supposed to be taking on the Iconic role of Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott in the new Star Trek movies with the approval of Chris Doohan's endorsement (Mongomery's son)but got cut at the last minute. Actually SG-1 as a series was supposed to end after season 8. They only did seasons 9 and 10 due to contracts with Ben Browder and Claudia Black from their stint on Farscape. They had both signed on for 6 seasons of Farscape but since it was canceled after season 4 they didn’t want the payout and took the option to move to another series

Most of them where already in their prime, and way older than Jason. Jason was super young and had all his career ahead of him. He was at least 12 years younger than most of the cast.
Pretty sure in Stargate, all humans are exactly that - humans. They were abducted through the Stargate by other aliens and born and raised on other planets... some escaped oppression hundreds of years ago, some never had any intellectual dark ages, some were advanced by other alien races... hence why some are way more technologically advanced - but they’re all ultimately “humans.” Humans from earth are distinguished by being called Tau’ri. Which means “Humans from the first world.”
Just rewatching Stargate(again), in the UK, Janet always was, and still is my favourite character, her character could have been expanded and developed, rarther than just killing her off.
When it was mentioned that going from motion pictures to TV was seen as downgrade I started laughing. James Spader starred in two TV shows since Stargate SG-1 launched. I don't think Kurt Russell would have been the same "Jack" as Richard Dean Anderson was. I can't see him "playing dumb" like Jack from the show.
I am a few episodes into SG1 season 7. I really like Jonas Quinn, sad to see him go. He had a cool story arch and I think keeping him on would have brought cool interactions between him and Jackson.

Amazing that every planet looked exactly like British Columbia
My sentiments exactly Tenth Planet. While you can see progressive themes in Stargate it never went full woke. I think it's a better TV show than the others for many reasons and it feels like it has a longer legacy outside of Dr. Who, and didn't fall into disgrace like the other popular sci fi franchises mentioned
I totally agree. Even the star wars movies are becoming a bore tbh.
Netflix has every season. Season one episode one had full frontal nudity i never knew about.
I concur
Just discovered this gem of a show during lockdown
Amanda Tapping's "Sanctuary" was a solid 4-season show as well.
Enjoy, it's just so so good
You will enjoy it very much. The best SciFi show.
My favorite episode is when Jack and Teal'c are golfing through the stargate.
Yeah I think it was when O'Neil was stuck in that time loop
"Window of Opportunity" I think I've watched that episode over 10 times. Easily my favorite.

So O'Neill replaced Hammomd
A year later Hammond retired and O'Neill got promoted to in charge of Homeworld Command and Landry took O'Neill's place as leader of the SGC.
So O'Neill replace Hammond twice and Landry replaced ONeill as leader of SGC.
Please get it right
The way RDA stepped back from the series was class IMO. He didn't just say "screw this" and disappear. Also, can't fault his reason.
Yeah. RDA was amazing on the show, but the replacement actor was good too.
I'm still not over Janet's and Carson's death :(
Carson was a favorite. But I also liked Jennifer's development
and the fact they were both doctors
Ya. Carson dying was a shot to the feels.
Carson is still alive.
Torri Higgenson wasn't the original Elizabeth Weir, it was Jessica Steen in SG-1 S7:E21-22 who played her first. Please Looper do your research.

@@jeffl0385 I knew a guy named Jeff LePage from
East Boston.
LACK of knowledge, you mean?

Yeah, like what Disney did with the Star Wars sequels
Teryl Rothery was perfect for portraying Janet Fraser and her death was a bummer!
I 100% agree...
Agree. It was a bad move.
@@rstrajt9220 It was a very bad move, the y could have developed her character, expanded it even more, and what about poor Cassie, she loses her family along with her entire civillizationm is then used as a living bomb, and the loses her adoptive mother. Dr. Jackson was my favorite character, I think Quin would have been a great addition, a huge help he could have remained to Jackson and SG as a whole.
Yeah too bad he was a HUGE asshole and people hated working with him.
Based on Daniel Jackson's comment to Jack O'Neil asking if we get paid for this upon his return to the show I'm guessing that was a wink and a nod towards a dispute about pay.

As a fan i prefer to just ignore the minor language issue.

I'm rewatching from the beginning AGAIN! Always gonna be a favorite.
Great shows, but killing off characters for shock value is just lazy writing and pisses people off. Do it enough, and fans will start leaving.
Couldnt agree more, shock value, thats all it is. Fun Fact L MICHAEL SHANKES had been also a protegé of Richard Dean Anderson since Anderson had played McGyver on a set at a University where Shankes had studied.
I was happy when Daniel ascended and very disappointed when Jonas left and Daniel returned
The way Becket closes his eyes as the explosion goes off Jesus
Literally my childhood show and I got so excited when it popped up on Netflix. Watching it right now as I type this 😅
The deaths of Carson and Fraser made my cry every time I watched the episodes from the original airing to this day. Daniel died so maany times we all knew he would come back at asome point.
I agree. Daniel, Jack, Sam and Tealc, were main characters, they were always saved by plot armour. To say that Fraiser was only a supporting character is totally unfair. Thats the way she was written, she shouild have had more airtime, been developed. In any case, Carson was a main character, both deaths were pointless.
Best thing they did was bringing Dr. Daniel Jackson back. Show was definitely not the same without Michael Shanks.
It worked well for the story anyways. Seemed like it was planned ahead.
@@meoff7602 Hi and Hello. Sorry this is random,
but: Got time to hear about a project of mine,
to make the extremly unhealthy UA-cam more healthy?
To fight Racists, Sexists, Spam-Bots, Bullies, Mobber, and much more;
through reporting and flagging?
I made a Wiki and filled it with Links, in the hope that people
have the spine to not just complain about UA-cam (as so many do) but
actually Act.
This plattform is very unhealthy and therefore could need
your help - and hey, i thought, if any comment-section,
those with a Stargate-Theme should have some
people who know about wrong and right, yeah?
So i ask here and apologize for it being so random.
Which time, I mean it became so common for him to die that they had a scene where they would NOT hold a funeral for him because he keeps coming back.
The Frasier one hit hard.
Ya Ford was not going to be missed when Ronan entered the show
Ronan was Teal'c for Atlantis, the best episode was when they were introduced to each other and it became obvious. Indeed
I loved the docs from both shows, they made it feel alive and that you can relate to them a little.i also enjoyed everyone else as well. The killing the doctors was a real shocker and sad way to see
SyFy murders good shows all the time.
Last time I will this early, Teal'c had hair.
Producer: something major will happen soon.
Actors: who's going to get fired next.
Paul McGillion(Carson) was supposed to be taking on the Iconic role of Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott in the new Star Trek movies with the approval of Chris Doohan's endorsement (Mongomery's son)but got cut at the last minute. Leaving him without the role and no proper way back to Atlantis. And Peg shat all over the part.
Given the quality of those movies, high school jocks and cheerleaders go to space, best he stayed out of that abortion.
Fraiser’s death was just plain good writing. That episode still gets me.
Teryl Rothery's exit is featured last in the video , this is unfortunate 🙄. And Torri Higginson wasn't first Elizabeth Weir.
Also they don't know what season she died in, transition to SciFi was season 5.
@@Jacurutu thats something to argue about... she could be dead in a human way coz she was healed by using a lot of replicators... so u can literally say that the character died in this season (3)... the replicator weir died in season 5.
Yeah, but she was much more suited to the role than the original actress
Hammond left after the end of Season 7 & was replaced shortly by Dr. Elizabeth Weir before General Jack O'Neill replaced her. After Season 8 Jack was the replaced by General Hank Landry.
Let's be honest, there was no was SG-1 could afford Russell or Spader .
I mean it was MGM, so....
Spader and Russel did not jump ship. At that time they were not TV actors. They pursued motion pictures. I never even thought twice of them ever doing the series.
Jackson: What happens when you dial your own phone number?
Teal'c stares back
Jackson: Wrong person.
Alas I was highly skeptical of SG1 and didn't watch it until decade(s) later, only to learn I prefer it over my all time favorite, Star Trek TNG. *SG14LIFE*
Come on.. seriously. Shanks left because he THOUGHT he could transition to movies, because he overestimated himself and it failed, HARD!! That’s why he came back
@@leedavis2222 so did I, but the reason he left was just meh...
I mean it worked VERY well for the overall story, so thats a plus
I remembered sg-1 vaguely watching a few episodes as a pre-teen/teen as well as Atlantis. Stargate is such an underrated sifi show. Started watching SG-1 already on season 9. A lot of filler episodes and what not, but AMAZING cast. Great ideas story and I cannot wait to watch all the Stargate series again!!!
I am glad Brian Hensen was able to get with everyone for the miniseries Peacekeeper Wars, tho I would loved to have seen the series return, it did finish it off well.
It would have been cool if they could have played their Farscape characters on Stargate.^_^
"Quinn quickly found his way into everyone's hearts"
I'm guessing that the person who write this doesn't know any SG-1 fan
Is it weird that Jason Mamoa came from the StarGate franchise and now he is a superstar while the other actors fell into silence?
Well, many of them grew old. They weren't exactly kids when it started.
Most of them where already in their prime, and way older than Jason. Jason was super young and had all his career ahead of him. He was at least 12 years younger than most of the cast.
Taking a boat load of steroids can do wonders for a career.
Yep now he’s the king of Atlantis. 😆
My dad was a background actor on this show, that was the only reason I watched it when I was younger
Too expensive for spader and russell to be a regular tv series. Any cast would be commended for sticking around for 8 plus years
Press F for General Hammond
Jonas isn’t an alien. He is human. He even said it to Nyriti.
@Jason Mistretta Dude he confirmed he is human. Watch the episode on Season 6. He literally says he is human. He is just born Langara.
@Jason Mistretta Watch the Episode Metamorphosis on Season 6.
@Jason Mistretta That doesn’t make him less human. Cuz he has no other alien attributes.
Pretty sure in Stargate, all humans are exactly that - humans. They were abducted through the Stargate by other aliens and born and raised on other planets... some escaped oppression hundreds of years ago, some never had any intellectual dark ages, some were advanced by other alien races... hence why some are way more technologically advanced - but they’re all ultimately “humans.”
Humans from earth are distinguished by being called Tau’ri. Which means “Humans from the first world.”
@@Byrnzi360 Thanks for that clarification. 😁
Janet Fraser as a goa’uld would have been an interesting arc and certainly would have provided the shock value.
Just rewatching Stargate(again), in the UK, Janet always was, and still is my favourite character, her character could have been expanded and developed, rarther than just killing her off.
Now that’s the role I would love to see Kurt Russell reprise.
Richard dean anderson is better
@@robbypitas620 RDA was better for SG1, however I believe Kurt was better for the movie.
When Sci-Fi channel started, I was stoked! Then they started ruining shows. Now they're trash.
Farscape went first, or was it the Lexx, they at least let Stargate SG1 run, then they took out Atlantis, followed by Universe, leaving them the WWE and Ghosthunters, yeah, real science fiction shows.
Great video
This was a great show that was greatly harmed by getting rid of Tori and Carson. It never really recovered.
True.
No. I think it did well. I loved Carson, but Woolsey grew into a great character and Jennifer was great, not to mention easy on the eyes. Rodney, you don't deserve that!
@@icecold9511 WOOLSEY??
@@edmondtiryak4797
He really stepped up when he became the man, in charge rather than the man criticizing the man in charge.
Actually I found some of the main characters annoying about this. Hammond, SG1, and SGA constantly just thought they shouldn't be answerable to anyone. Woolsey got a bit nervous about this, but never an arrogant attitude. And ratted out Kinsey when he hinted at going president Clark(Babylon 5 reference) on Hayes.
@@icecold9511 the WOOLSEY that wanted to kill Daniel?
Isn't it about time they brought back stargate!?!
Look at the success startrek has had!
