Love it! I have a secret after many years of listening and especially in the internet age. The single biggest improvement in the sound quality and enjoyment of my system? I stopped visiting forums! I have not been on a HiFi forum for over five years and it has made the most amazing improvement in my enjoyment of listening to music on my system. Same with my other love, watches, especially Vintage, since leaving watch forums my enjoyment of my vintage watches has increased greatly.
The funny thing is is that this has also saved me a small fortune in money as I have not purchased new HiFi since leaving the forums and now I buy watches I love rather than listen to forum experts and buy watches I don’t enjoy!

I didn't have to watch this video because I read about it on the forums. The word is that it is totally on the mark.
Looking forward to reading about future AudioStream vids. Keep up the good work!

I know Herb says he doesn't like jokes, but this made me laugh. Sarcasm FTW!

When that speaker burned; oh, the humanity!

Love it love it love it. I used to get into so many arguments with the ABX brigade that I realized one day the thing that was ruining my enjoyment music was the forum, so I have not looked at a forum in three years.
It’s funny, I now enjoy my music again, have not bought a single bit of gear and love my antiquated, outdated system ( shock horror, it’s almost five years old!).
So my advice on the single biggest improvement for your system? leave the forums well behind you!

Is that what on forum call "no need to burn in"? ;)

Hahaha, love it fellas. But burning that lovely Devore speaker was just too much!
Oh well, just replace it with an Andrew Jones Elac speaker, an AV receiver, and some lamp cord and call it a day.
If you're feeling really cheeky, upgrade your digital section in the AVR to something from Schiit Audio. They're the best in the world and absolutely nothing is allowed to sound better!

Sorry, I'm one of those guys who recommends Andrew Jones speakers. I've lived with and actually love the Pioneer SP‑FS52 (andrew jones) speakers. Stereophile recommended them and I went out and bought a pair. Obviously there are better speakers out there but I haven't really had much desire to upgrade. Someday, I do plan on buying a pair of Harbeth speakers when I retire (is that something like 20 years? ...yes)
Forums are sort of fun. Being a Rega guy I used to go and read the Rega forum, until I realized people like to upgrade every component until it was their own Frankenstein. Reading the Rega book and going back into the forums was a big eye opener. I'd recommend staying away from forums unless you like the amusement, which I admit sometimes I do. People sort of ignore you when you keep preaching to keep things stock :)

Adam Lowe You are not the problem, it's all in fun. He makes great affordable speakers. Or so it has been told on the forums ;)

Ha, yeah. I will say it's really hard turning even my friends on to high-quality audio. It's almost impossible to say go buy a pair of Grado SR60's... I've had no one yet that has taken my advice. Maybe they need to go to a headphone forum ;)

I just read AudioStream. Then I parrot what they say and pretend I ABX'd the gear myself. Now I have all these component manufacturers sending me free gear. Nothing wrong with a little payola right?
