I own this guitar (as I own a Gibson Les Paul Classic, an Ibanez rga42fm, a Fender Mustang, a Telly 52 and a GTRS 801) and it rocks. Absolutely. I use it for Pop Punk and Hard Rock and it sounds really good. The coil split is awesome (more than on the Gibson Classic) and it has a great gain and a really powerful sound. The fretboard is quite dark, even if is Pau Ferro, it looks pretty good.. It seems you don't like this guitar, but i love it, it's my favourite on stage.. I’m not sure why so many reviewers in the US have issues with the fret ends and nut, I live in Australia and tried one out at my local guitar shop and it played absolutely great, I don’t know if I just got lucky or the Pau Ferro fretboards shrink in the cooler climate of the US?
Yep, the colder parts of the US and here in Canada we suffer from extremely low humidity during long winters of very low tempertatures. It can really cause a lot of damage to guitars if you don't constantly augment the air humidity.
I absolutely love the Orange, but for a few more bucks I can get the Orange Godin Session R-HT Pro which is a pristine instrument. Thanks for the review.
HAHAHAHA! I just bought the J Mascis Jazz only to trade it for this one...I wish I could justify keeping the Mascis model, it's a great Squier Jazz, though! (Sh!t, maybe I will keep it....it's $450 after my discount...ugh...I love playing Mr.Mascis tunes)
i suggest if you are wuiling to save up or get a micro loan from the shop the best one to get is the noventera series jazzmaster i got that and its my finally good guitar thats actually fender and isnt crappy still mim but thats ok just dont get the squier affinity from this year so theres the end to my search for a guitar this year if you like this one its cool but i suggest the noventera p90 version not actually that noisey on the pickup

The Orange is cool and a bit scooby doo 😂😂 My issue with this one that spoils the looks and looses the Jazzmaster sound is the Humbuckers. No, just No...!!!!! It should have those very odd Jazzmaster Pickups. They can be almost forgiven for not including all the proper switching circuit that Jazzmasters should really have. If they are not going to put the right pickups in, then at least a set of P0’s would have been a step in the right direction. If I got one a Set of fat P90’s would have been the first aftermarket change.
Jaguar is a much shorter scale and might feel weird. I'd go with the Jazzmaster. Let me know what you end up getting! Would love to have you subscribe if not already! Thanks Bruce!
At the end of the day, get what you pay for. No mim fender will be absolutely perfect from the factory. As for the nut, any tech can fix that along with any other issues. As for the coil tap, put p bass knobs on it and that will make it easier to pull it up. As for the tone, tap it and eq around the single coil setting and if it sounds good it should also work in humbucker mode.
Good tips - hate the thought of changing the nobs as they are such a part of the look. I can and have fixed the nut slotting. My sons Player Strat was in fact perfect from the factory so it can and does happen. Money wasn’t a consideration- I had played one at the Hard Rock Hotel a couple of times and wanted the Capri Orange. Almost wish I’d gotten a used US with the P90s though. I just mainly wanted something different, which this is but was surprised at the coil tap since my Charvel coil tap is so so good. No redialing in the eq with that. Hi Alan, I still stick with my Strats and and Teles. Gave it a thought about buying a jazzmaster and ended up buying the Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray instead .similar body shape and plays and sounds great. Don't mind the color though. If you want that Fender to hold tune, you must do a full setup before playing and change the strings to Daddario and you didn't say if it had locking tuners, if not, replace them.

Wtf this is not a cheap guitar he’s like you’re on a budget it’s damn expensive for someone well most of us who get paid fuk all from our music weather you’re trying or not I’d say this is a mid range price if i could afford it i would get the sonic youth thurston or Ronaldo signature i can’t believe how much this stuff costs i just want one good instrument

Ive always hated fender offsets because they were always used by hacks that couldnt really play ( kurt cobain), but the older I get the cooler I think they look.
I’m kind of in the same boat. I wasn’t into Thurston Moore or J Mascis and I’m still not but I’m starting to like them. Same with the Gibson Firebirds.

I think it’s part climate but the nut thing is hit or miss. My son’s Player Strat is perfect!
I also have it. No problems except a bit of rattling in the trem but that was an easy fix

Is the nut issue common with Fenders? My Squier jagmaster had high E that would pop out of the nut!!
