Just a small suggestion that might help. Use compressed air or duster spray to cool off the board. It might make hot spots stand out more when large areas heat up and heat is spreading through the ground plane of the board.
Freon gas was replaced with flammable butane gas. To prevent explosions, you need to buy diagnostic freeze sprays. This is nonflammable . This has long been used by electronic developers as low-temperature stress testing and repair tool. Spray the surface of the PCB until the ice freezes, and the first melting part when the power is connected is the faulty part.
Another Excellent Video. My repair video's aren't quite as intricate as yours yet! Great Job. Keep up the good work. I bought one of the voltage injection units after seeing them on your previous videos.
Hi Alex. From what i‘ve seen your board is jumping straight to 240mA after pressing power button. Check tristar. It usually generates some heat when it fails like that.
Last ditch effort to replace tristar. Many times I’ve also had pulsing pmic using thermal camera but it did not pick up heat on a shorted capacitor near nand. Used freeze spray and melting very slightly on a nand capacitor.
I'm a big fan of your videos, I would like to get into repair and micro soldering myself. When repairing a gpu, say there is a missing or terribly damaged resistor. Where do you find what to replace it with? Do you have access to diagrams?
Hey boss. Just want you to know that you looks good when you smile. Just don't feel bad if anything doesn't get fixed. I know you can fix it. Cheers 😇❤️
@@NorthridgeFix in fact i use a headphones, and if i tell you that it is because all other channels are approximately the same level all day ... and when i watched your vid, i had to move up the volume and when after i went to another channel i had to reduce it back... it is for you i am telling it... it doesn't bring me nothing to lie to you... cheers...
Absolutely Fantastic. The Rosin part was really good too. Time is money, so wise decision. Awesome.
Thank you. Enjoy watching.

Love the use of the tools, I learn something every time I watch!
I cant express enough how much I enjoy your videos, Such a satisfying, educational channel and the jokes are hilarious to me...

happen to me as well
The first thing we do is check Tristar, replace battery, charging port, screen and disconnect cameras. . Normal procedure.
My favourite Mechanic "Northridge fix"
Took my first iphone apart a few weeks back - was stunned by how incredibly small the components are 🙀🙀🙀

Good job as always Alex
Which software are you using for diagram
Have you had any success with the CPC4 from a Freightliner Cascadia?
It that was a crystal next to the cap, and the cap is a bias cap, removing it could make the crystal frequency unstable or fail to start oscillating.
THE SHORT, IS GONE...ME LOVE THAT PHRASE SIR
it seems you have a real ripped pad on last column, third row, but don't know if it's related to the issue.
Yes common issues with 7 and 7+.
Hi, When You Accept Graphic Card for Repair.?
Which board diagram do you use Mr Alex?!
Quick question: is that magnifying glass of any good? Once I've looked into one and got sick. It was so bad. I saw double image trough it.
Hello, I really enjoy your content! Thank you from Québec :)
One pad missed with connection. The very right one close to the TOP side.
Mr you are amazing thanks for sharing your experience, greetings from Colombia!
Great video. What tool are you using at 5:00?
Is it a multimeter or something else, because I didn't see another prob
Multimeter with ground probe off-screen
Board: _HA HA! Find the short now, Mr. Better-than-factory!_
Alex: _OK. No problem._ ¬¬

Nice work even no fix!!!

When you were measuring the compacitors using diode mode on your meter; what did you have the other meter lead connected to, just curious?
Other side is connected to ground
How do they weld it so perfectly
Nice work, Not all problems must be solved maybe this is one of them
Nooo... I hate when I dont get to see a resolution :(
Feels like my OCD is kicking in...
wish you were in vietnam. you are very good, thank you...

@@NorthridgeFix Check your mic and don't be an a** lol
Alex.why not use that Uni t heat cam, you revied it and had much better result.
I already have a thermal cam, and Atomizer, Having another thermal camera is a waste.
In the future repair technicians will develop built in thermal vision, and will be able to detect shorts without any equipment.
So basically the first problem was found by chance or is it related to audio chip overheating? please let me know
The first short was discovered because of the audio ic, otherwise I would not have looked there.
This is what I call burnout or lack of time just like my post on the forum. 😉
Excellent work.
Great work
amazing technique🇵🇭😊
One day I'll be able to do repairs as confidently and quickly as you do. But it won't be any time soon lol. There's no replacing years of experience.
How did you obtain the iPhone board diagram?
Yes how?? Please can some tell us
Search phoneboard
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Better luck next time ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
thank you for the knowledge and great videos
Thank you
Alex, the scientist are busy on this video. They just can't help themselves. Personally, I will wait for you to have your second look.
Good for you
Can be this called... "Premium short circuit"?
power of board diagrams
Sometimes things are unfixable, unfortunately.
I'm a big fan

0.6 amp means its in DFU mode i can tell u this from years and years of experience :)
0.6a is usually short when it comes to iPads. The DFU assumption doesn't do me any good.
I’M NOT THE BAD GUY!
