- Turns out Chinese scooters are not too bad off road! I took my Roketa scooter to Five Mile Pass in Utah to see what it can do.

This is the best thing I’ve seen this week!
Haha thanks! It's just like a dirt bike, but you can pick up groceries with it too.
Thats the best scooter ride experience. really enjoy watching it!
In half the countries where these things are popular they barely even have paved roads, these things are practically ATVs. Looks like a blast, made me laugh watching that thing jumping around like mad. A girlfriend of mine had a little 50cc scooter when I was a bit younger. Didn't have to license the 50ccs but man were they slow. I got the idea to buy an ebay rebuild kit to bump that baby up to 100cc while keeping the 50cc badging. Great learning experience for small engine building. It was waaay faster, right up until everything else fell apart from adding the extra power. Rebuilt it twice more but the kits came with connecting rods practically made from lead, you name it, it broke. It was alot of fun but man those Chinese scooters are piles haha. Super cheap too, I paid 50 dollars for an entire engine rebuild kit. Awesome upload as always!!!
Yeah the 50cc wouldn't make it up those hills. I'm just now able to ride this scooter, after 15 repair videos.
@@LabCoatPaul At least it makes for some great videos that should really help some people out. They really are alot of fun too. I'm sure it will be just a cornucopia of "content" for you lol.
Sick video.,.. your a a hell of a rider bro...and sick transport rack!
I have the same scooter! Learning so much from your videos. Changed out master cylinder carb turn signals all from watching videos. Thanks. That looks like fun but afraid my Heritage will fall into pieces. I’ll stick to the city streets.
Love these scooters twist = go brakes = stop,so much fun.
great channel with awesome content!
The big issues I have with scooters are the seats and foot positions.
Great video
So great video 😊
Not the kind of video you see very day.. Pretty dang awesome. Well done.
Thanks! Chinese scooters are a lot of fun.
Loved this! Damn, that thing did better than I thought it would! Time for a new motorsport. Scooter Enduro 🤔
This was awesome!!!!!!!!!!
🤣 I love how you just go about matter a fact, straight forward 😁
If the engine so often off. Its because you need to check carburator to the intake engine. I belive screws is not closed tigh well .
Look's like fun!
Excellent 👌
awesome BRO~
I'm not going to lie! I'm very impressed on its performance. Now I need to get one haha
Chinese scooters are pretty good. Japanese is still better, but you can definitely have a Chinese one as reliable transport.
@@jamesrussell2936 Chinese scooters require endless repairs and tinkering. They're "reliable" as long as you're constantly fixing them. Not sure if that's the definition of "reliable" I'm pretty sure it means something else...
For the average person, if you want transportation, you should definitely get a Japanese scooter.
For the person who likes wrenching on stuff, or if you want to build something fun for cheap, Chinese scooters are great.
@@LabCoatPaul I guess? My taotao 150cc has about 3500 miles on it right now, about a year old and do far so good. All I did was add a few mods like egr delete and bigger jets.
@@LabCoatPaul odd to build a channel around something thats not reliable? i have multiple gy6 scoots with over 20k miles not km on them, replace a belt, clean a carb. change the damn oil not hard shit lol. usually dont mind ur content but that reply was dumb.
@@theamishhitman71 Yeah he makes it seem like Chinese scooters are breaking all the time and not worth having but I see tons of video reviews that say they really don't have those kind of problems with them if you do proper maintenance. He's got a video on which Chinese scooters he's owned.. perhaps he's just owned all the really crappy ones. There are literally Hundreds of Chinese scooter manufacturers out there and most of us only know a few popular brands. He cannot have experience with them all.
I have a 125 Speedfight 3 and my rear shock blew from going down a curb to hard 😢
Lab Coat Paul is a vibe and a half
Was there much washboard on this thang?
Legenddd
great!
Will you be doing any performance mods? rollers, variator, exhaust?
Maybe, just to make some videos. This scooter runs pretty good already.
@@LabCoatPaul yeah shes runing pretty good for sure. I think that's what the people whant to see
Hi dear,
I need your advice, I have Rav 4 model 1998 same as yours and I want to Swap the engine with a Toyota Camry 2002 engine and transmission is possible and if it is possible what are the requirements and spare parts to do that?
Yes, the 5SFE from the Camry would fit. Some people have already done this swap. You would need the engine, wiring harness, and computer from the Camry. If you have front wheel drive, you can probably use the Camry transmission. If you have AWD, you should keep the RAV4 transmission. I recommend joining some RAV4 groups on facebook and ask your question there.
The 5S-FE was discontinued after '01, and unless you live in Australia, your donor '02 Camry is a completely different platform than anything that was offered with that 5S-FE turd. So, no... an engine from an '02+ Camry will not bolt in. You'd be wiser to look at a 3S-GTE because it's the same amount of work to install as a 5S, but with another 60+ HP.
Paul I have a question for you. I own a 99 rav4 automatic with the same engine. I noticed that while you were driving at 75 mph your rpm's were at 3500 or so.. Why d u think my rav4 only revs 3000 rpm at 120 kph
I don't own a Rav4, but the gear ratios could be different inside the transmission for various reasons.
@@jamesrussell2936 it's a huge difference though
@Daddy Savage true. Though I think in the vid he has stock tire size
@Daddy Savage but if I had a bad cylinder wouldn't I need higher rpm to generate the same amount of power? Seeing that a bad cylinder would make the engine loose power?
"That's what's up"
Id love to see you do a video with a ruckus out there!
The ruckus looks like an off road scooter, with it's fat knobby tires, but the suspension only has 2 inches of travel, and the 50cc engine is too weak to make it up steep hills. My Chinese scooter is better off road than a Ruckus.
4:11 thats how I ride on the street
Are the roads in your neighborhood like this one?
make a video with the rav there on the tracks
Who knew Roketa made an adventure bike?
I've been pretty impressed with this Roketa scooter. I bought it for $100 and it was pretty destroyed. After about 15 repairs, I was able to go ride it.
I've had the rear shock snap in half riding a different Chinese scooter on the road, yet this one didn't even break when I jumped it. Quality is all over the place with these things. I think I got one of the better ones this time.
@@LabCoatPaul Not only that, but they can be all over the place on the SAME scooter. I removed a cam chain tensioner from my Znen made scoot and ordered a replacement from Honda, when I got it it was not as good as the one from China. So I ended up putting the original back with Honda OEM gaskets, go figure.
i traveled around peru on a 150cc gy6 chinese scooter
I’m actually looking at this exact model scooter on Facebook marketplace right now, even ha the weird bird head on the fender
It's my favorite Chinese scooter. The frame geometry is better than the other ones. The head angle is pretty slack, which gives it more stability, and the seat is low. Mine has 12 inch wheels with a telescoping fork, which is better than the 10" version with the linkage fork. Larger wheels give you a smoother ride. I also got lucky and the eagle on my front fender has eyes that light up.
Of course, it's a Chinese scooter, so it's a POS and you'll have to fix it all the time. Keep that in mind.
Looks like Scooters do the job off road occasionally but also pretty painfully looks like!
It sounds like a tin can full of rocks. It sounds like its shaking apart lol
That’s some crazy ground for scooter! Nice jumps! Hahah I bought 3 chinese scooters for 100 $, got it on my channel! All 3 of them put in 🚗, and repaired em all! One is 80cc! Check it out!
7:57... Scooter Jump! 🤣🤣🤣
Thats the kind of roads they have in China and India.
Those stupid pulse pumps that the scooters come with are garbage. If your gas tank is above your engine and not on the floor, you could just gravity feed the hose directly to the carburetor and get rid of any emission stuff and the pulse pump attached to it. Definitely get rid of any stock rubber hoses, spark plugs and replace them with quality ones. Get a decent belt and a decent battery and change the oil often. Doing all this will make your GY6 scooter go a lot longer between issues.
That was even worse than I expected
Well, I guess you Can go off road riding on a Chinese scooter. Question is.. Should You? I wouldn't unless you had a spare at home and you were using a bike you didn't care about.
this kid is fuckn hilarious ..."look at these deer...." ok back to scooty." if ur ever in Cali bro I have the exact same gy6 scooty as u but mines even more clapped out with dirt bike parts and a wooden front fender on it.. I'll race u bro or run a big air contest off some visious speed bumps
Challenge accepted! Scooters are pretty sketchy on jumps, but I'd bet you some beers to see who does better on a steep hill climb.
Please buy a dirtbike and give it the attention like the Rav 4
Which dirt bike should I make videos about?
@@LabCoatPaul it needs to be a classic. Perhaps a Yamaha tw200. ??
@@shaun8309 I've always wanted a TW200. They already have a cult following.
@@LabCoatPaul Just do it (*insert Shia LaBeouf meme)
Straight pipe it
No way! Changing the exhaust on a stock GY6 engine makes it extremely loud, but does not improve performance.
@@LabCoatPaul i agree there just likes it loud ... Im working on a yamaha bws 1994 its hellaloud
The suspensions are garbage. Even for road standards
Gee. It doesn't run correctly.
It's not made to be used off rd.
It's great till you crash.
The transport of the scooter bocking the view of the brake light. Indicators. And license plate.
Make a scooter last a month? 6 months.
Real bright. Doing what you're not supposed to. On a scooter.
