I’m grateful I have found you! Over the years I was using a lot of products that was not needed because I’m not lose natural any more! So I stick with blue magic grease mixed with sulfur 8 on my scalp, and spirits my hair with vitamin e, castor oil mixed with aloe vera juice! It’s doesn’t leave build up but that is what Queen Joy (my hair) loves! I will detox twice a year and I feel like I will go to once a year because the water is not murky like I think it would be! I use head and shoulders for a clarifying shampoo, a moisturizing shampoo, and a protein conditioner! Since year 3 Queen Joy (my hair) has flourished and I’m in my 5th year which now I’m mid back length. The less the better and I love my disrespectful new growth!! 🤣🤣 #MyLocsIsACancerButImALibra 😜 Thank you Yannie🥰
If you don't mind, I have a question. I also use Sulfur 8 because I have seborrheic dermatitis and NOTHING else works. Why do you mix it with Blue magic?
Greetings everyone, I've been Blessed once again by Yannie and Jimmy and The Beautiful Queen Mother! I had NO idea that I was going to meet the Queen Mother and then for her to touch my hair too! This is my 3rd time sitting in their chair and each time I have felt sooo Blessed! My LOC JOURNEY with them is now my LIFE JOURNEY! I can't wait for our next visit! I am So Blessed to have Yannie and Jimmy and the Queen Mother in my life!🙏💕💕
Nice! I started mine with 2 strand twists and now they're healthy locs. I got so confused with what to do and was using those Jamaican Lime things and getting buildup and breakage and frustrated. But then I found you and I've been following you for a long time and I put nothing on mine but some spray water and some vitamin e oil and it grows so fast, it's nearly at the middle of my back. Thank you for all your help. I hope one day when you're in the DMV I can catch you for an appointment! Thank you sooo much again for all your help with your videos.
Congratulations on your new loc journey!! It's been 3 years since I started my loc journey from a loose natural and I love it. My hair was similar to her hair... super thick and kinky. Such a beautiful start 😍
Yes Yannie you did my hair before and you are the holy grail for locs. I learned EVERYTHING from you and trust me. I been to other people. No comparison. They have no idea what they are doing. I’ve had my locs for a little over 5 years and only got it professionally done 4 times and that’s including Yannie. I am a minimalist and my hair is healthy and thriving. The so called “professionals” messed my hair up every single time. NOPE, Yannie is the best I just live too far. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
@@EmpressDPhoenix my apologies I started with two strand twists.(braided the root then twisted then finished it off with the braid) yes Queen some of my locs are flat n others are rounded. The twisted look is completely gone as well.
When I restart my locs it will also be on my grandad bday. He passed this year March but his bday is February 3rd. Her hair is beautiful. Everyone’s hair looks amazing.
Hello there Yannie,I am new to your channel. I am very thankful to you for sharing your knowledge. I am going to listen to you from now on. Thank you and blessings to you and Jimmy!!
Thank you for being very specific with loc /braid base.i have a full set of kinky hair and no one wants to do instantloc so im force to go this route to get my journey on thy road.thank you a millio
Thank you so much for this video. The routine you provide so is simple. Exactly what I need and so different from what I hear on UA-cam. I need to water my hair every day and I didn't see anyone recommand it
Congratulations, Happy Birthday 🎂 My Birthday is 10/18 #TeamLibra I started mine July last year, and I'm so Happy!! Because I follow Yannie's tips and my hair has Flourished and its so Healthy and Thick. My Hair is Very DISRESPECTFUL 😂 Congratulations on your Loc Journey 🥰
#TeamLibra. This is beautiful ☺ this is my second set of locs. After watching your videos I'm tempted for set 3.. I would love to take a trip to you. Someone with blessed hands to touch my head. Haven't found anyone to do me right yet. 😕
Omg you're right. That's her. I'm just praying she's alive and well. In these trying times that's all we can hope for. Thank you for reminding me of her name
Yes to #TeamLibra! It's just after midnight, 10/15 and it's my bday. Hearing you hype up Libra is everything! Just started my locs with 2 strand twist the other day and am looking forward to this journey.
Hello my QUEEN!!!! I’m a longggg time watcher a new commenter . Well questioner 😂 I always wondered if the people you have that comes . Do they have a UA-cam to keep up with the hair until they come see you again? Especially this young lady that got the opportunity to get your MASTER QUEEN MOM to start her up.
Beautiful Queen I’m loving your braids.. Yannie I want to follow the young lady’s loc journey but I can’t find her page can you please spell her name for me bc I’m thinking I’m not spelling it correctly.. Thank you and stay bless🙏🏽
yannie! thank you so much for all the knowledge you share. im about to start my Loc journey and i’m so glad i found you beforehand. one question: i see you talk a lot of the potential issue with small locs breaking, and i’m interested in small locs myself. i see lots of ladies with hella long sister or microlocs and wonder if they have trouble with losing locs. my hair is very dense and thick, and the strands are coarse. i know you haven’t seen my hair but does that sound like i can take locs that might have 1/2-1 inch parts? thank youuuu!!!
Great video I have been waiting for this info I am loose natural & want to start my loc journey, one question I have tho concerning split ends should I trim split ends before starting?
What I use is a 2:1 water to leave in conditioner mix and then let it soak in for a couple minutes before I coat my hair and scalp in oil to seal it in. I don’t mind using this combo in my hair every other day because the conditioner I use does not flake and it’s winter so my hair needs extra help. I know some people avoid conditioner at all costs but I figure that if you conditioner your hair while it’s out, you can condition it occasionally while in locs as well. I hope this helps
I'm licensed and I also have long beautiful locs but I don't think this is a good idea because when you go to retwist (especially if your stylist uses a comb) , it cause the braids to buckle and I have to reshape locks so many times because of this 🥺

I'm learning that Ms. Yannie everyday

It's something beautiful watching mom do hair. It takes you back when your mom, grandma or aunts would comb your hair as a kid😊
I started my locs with braids as well. October 9th of 2023 will be three years. It is the best thing that I ever did!!!!!
Your mom is beautiful Yanni! Yanni you MUST do updates on this Sis so we can see her progress PLEASE YANNI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right?
I had locs for 8 years and I started with the traditional twist and gel method I recently cut it but I’m definitely going to loc it with the plaits
Beautiful QUEENS ALL “Melanin Magic”. Blessings

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I did this 5 months ago and my hair is locked. High frequency
Hey queen, you started with box braids? Did they round up or are they flat please? And were they tight braids or semi loose braids please?
@@EmpressDPhoenix my apologies I started with two strand twists.(braided the root then twisted then finished it off with the braid) yes Queen some of my locs are flat n others are rounded. The twisted look is completely gone as well.
No she wasn't tight with it.
Thanks for sharing....I am really thinking of starting mine today

Can you elaborate on which hair textures should get two strand twists and which should get braids?

Yannie your mother has beautiful hair.
I like how the client dyed her hair orchid/purple. U can see it along her scalp.
Very beautiful!!! I want to loc my hair this exact same way! I'm still growing my hair out as of now. How many locs does she have 🤔. I love it 😍❤️
Thank you for saying that cause my locs are that size and I thought they were to big, but I love them

This is how I just started my daughter's, same size too..
Team Libra ♎️
Hi there, can you post an update on her locs
I’m excited for your loc journey.
What advice can you offer for those with mature locs that are looking for as moisture routine?
How long should u wait to retwist the box braids
Do you advise the front to be a bit smaller in the front? Or should it be just as big as the back?
I would do the front bigger to give more support to the perimeter of your hair for once it locs and you have to retwist you want it to have support
What a blessing 🙌

I absolutely love her locs! How would you retighten box braids locs????
Hi i lived in Trinidad for 6 years! What’s your opinion on sisterlocks? Just wondering
I wish I had started this set with box braids. I’m also team Libra 10/19
Hey birthday twin 10/19! My momma birthday is today 10/16
I'm 10/18 HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 🥳
Hi!! Just curious how do you maintain braid locs do you twist the roots/palm roll or interloc them?
I have braidlocs, my loctician said either way is fine. Just sharing my experience. The size may be a factor as well.
Oh my God ! How i wish you Can Come to France 😥😥😥....
Yannie can we get an update on this client
I will when we get to GA God willing. I got you ;)
So Cool!
Yaaaay! Mummy is moving to JEEEEERSEY!!
Hey Yannie if we don’t wash often what if we get flakes easy? Should we wash more frequently
Awesome 🎉😊
Guess i shouldn't have started with color treated hair. i had waited 3 months after a bleach and dye to loc it..will it effect the locing process
Iliyah didn’t comment 😖

How often should u " rinse" your hair?
Libra ! 10/19

Should I get my ends trimmed before locing my hair?
Unless you have permed hair at your ends you don't need to trim
Nice video. What products do you recommend to do the first retwist?
Very nice
How can I message you for advice (specific question) on my starter locs?
What part of Georgia are you located in???
My locs are mature. I'd like a consult on moist scalp
End of the video she was talking about an oil for moisture. Pick one. For a consult you would have to call and leave a message

Hi Yannie, what else can I use to moisturize my locs besides rose water, it makes my scalp itch.

Yannie does not use combs or the retwist method.
Dont use comb then. It’s gonna lock anyways.
