Although I didn’t understand what you were talking about, because I didn’t know your language, it was very interesting. I took a wonderful walk with you, with a pipe in hand filled with delicious tobacco, sometimes spicing it up with a sip of aromatic coffee. I got incredible pleasure from combining all this. I really liked the beautiful places that came across on your way. Thank you Dave for the moments of pleasure!
Love these insights into Dave's world. Is It is weird how they just remove head stones after a certain time. Lovely place steeped in history Lovely lot you are. 👍
If you ever get the chance to travel around Europe (do it!), this is one of the things you immediately notice if you're from the US. Most of these European towns & cities are older than our entire country (I'm also from the US), and are filled with cool little narrow alleyways and paths everywhere because they were designed before cars were even an idea. Lots of old cobblestone walking paths, lots of character, way cooler aesthetics in the architecture. There's something about being in these places that feels so much more engaging than the 'concrete jungle' of many cities in the US, which are dominated by wide streets, gray concrete, and lack of character in general. Makes you just want to get out and go for a walk, have a bite to eat and some coffee at one of the many little shops... it's very pleasant and has such a different feel from most of the US :)
@@matguerra333 Hi Matt. Was lucky to travel to NO many years ago.. travelled across the South and fell in love with NO. Indeed tbe character of it struck me as completely different to most other cities, beautiful city and people . A city with soul
Been to the town couple of times in my younger days, traveled from Donny just for a good night out, loved it Dave, love the history, it hasn't changed. Nice to see your Mam n sis. Cheers Dave take care.
That is awesome. Living in the old world places. Organic historic and beautiful. I suppose here in the US we do have our share too of old Indian stuff. Amazing. I love history. Hated it as a young man.
WOW Dave, this is beautiful, my mother inlaw is from Birmingham England, so my wife, Deb, is half British, we live in N Ft Myers Florida, but originally from Chicago, played in Belgium & Ireland, absolutely love Europe, will play in England at some point, & when I do, I'll invite you to jam because I love the way you play bro because you like to improvise & that'd my specialty, thanks for sharing & I agree with you about the grave stones, great video, hope you share more, stay safe my friend, Rock On & God Bless!!!
Really enjoyed the walk with you and your family , beautiful country ! (Your Mother is in great shape , looked like you and your sis could barely keep up) LOL Great video !
Like many others am loving these let's go for a walk vids. It's the delightful company as well as the scenery that makes them work. I love the fact that people who have never been to England let alone Louth get to share it too. I used to travel through Louth a fair bit in the 80's as my grandparents retired to Sutton (nr Mablethorpe) from our native Yorkshire and we'd stop off often at your town now and again. My enduring - totally random - memory of Louth is I bought Queen's Greatest Hits on cassette from the then Woolworths there (if memory serves!) and it was one of the albums that caused me to start to seriously practice the guitar intensely (and send me on my own musical journey) so I guess it's the reason why I'm here watching now.
It’s always baffled me why we get on an aeroplane for holidays when we have such beautiful places to visit in the UK. It felt like me and the Mrs were on a walk with you 👍
Man, I really enjoy these tours! It probably seems common to you since you live there, but that is a beautiful town with lots of charm that many places don't have. Your family is lovely and you & your sis are a hilarious duo!
This is a great snapshot of a moment in time that marks what the world looked like in May 2020. I'd love to see more of these and see how everything changes as we go back to some sort of normality
I was waiting for this :) It's so cool to see your town, and also how few people are outside. Way to go Britain. Here in Finland it's getting better little by little, I hope there as well
Yay! A daytime walk. Dave, I love your town. I live in Cuyahoga Falls, the second city name checked in the last verse of The Pretenders' "My City Was Gone": The farms of Ohio/Had been replaced by shopping malls/And Muzak filled the air/From Seneca to Cuyahoga Falls Love to visit Louth. Beautiful and historic. Give your Mum and Totty my best.
I think grave land is leased until the last burial + 100 yrs, after that the ground returns to the council. I worked at one council depot many years ago and had the unfortunate job of witnessing the whole local graveyard being dug up and a housing estate built over it, clearly they haven't seen Poltergeist the movie. ;) A similar thing also happened at a disused churchyard the church was turned into a house and all the gravestones were used as paving.
Thank you so much for this video Dave, it was so nice to see you and the family out and about. Really great weather for a walk about town. Love all the info you supply in these vid's. Happy Birthday Sir! Cheers! John Russell (73 year young Rocker now in a rocker ;) in the U.S.A.(Born in Portsmouth U.K)
I could be wrong but I think usually when cemeteries are cleared like this, the exact position from which each headstone is removed is recorded during the process, and you can still get the individual grave locations from this. Obviously, you can't just walk in and find a grave, but if you want to know, you can.
Thanks for doing these videos Dave, they are so uplifting. It’s great to see this corner of Lincolnshire too. I’ve been down from Scotland for short holidays down your way a few times in recent years and love it.
Born in Louth in 1980 and lived their up until lockdown. Miss it, proper nice place. 1:30 there used to be a really nice sandwich shop on the left just there used to grab my lunch from there most days, can't remember what it was called.
This videos are interesting to me, I live in America and it’s cool to see how different our towns look. Thanks for a good vid would you like some cabbage.
Hi dAVE, ANY looper pedal experiences, just ordered a Hot One Wally + for its Amazing RECORDING capability: 11 memory locations, 30 mins each, sounds like a beach at home come wintertime..., any loopers you prefer/preferred? ...the Wally is goin to be a kinda library for me gits..., That bein written I do have Ukes n Classics with a piezo....so I could OFF course its coming to me this very moment...do like al dimeola did, record classical with a pick, and then add soft el gtr on it...., luv, K : )
So the thing with the headstones, burial plots are bought by lease, anywhere from 75-100 years is usual but it can be as low as 25 years. Graves can't be resold for 100 years though. It seems disrespectful but if it was any other way, there'd be no space. It's good that they kept the headstones though, they're really interesting to look at!
Big up to you Dave. I'm also from Louth. From the Andertons vid i thought you were from Grimsby. Nice to see Louth on UA-cam.I also play guitar but I'm not as good as you. Nice vid. Cheers mate. Best wishes. Ben
Pretty town🙂 Dave , get a hat for in the sun you don't want to risk skin cancer, (I went from hair like Ian astbury 1989 to Francis rossi 1999😢 Eventually I gave in and cut the remnants off and got a sun hat.) They did that in our local church too. Also we never hear church bells ring anymore , there is something sinister behind it all😢 You seem a really happy family, it's lovely to see🙂👍
Lovely walk Dave. Particularly impressed by the gravestones. Know what you mean but at least they kept the the stones and they're really quite an impressive and thought provoking sight. Keep it up man 🤘✌️
Fancied a stroll (albeit a virtual one) during this long-too-long-lockdown, somewhere different. Well, what a real gem! Lucky man to live there - and so much history. I'm a huge fan of stone work on architecture and the history that goes with it and this didn't disappoint, thank you. By the way, do the locals know they have a person of note in their town? Great to see these from time to time, balancing all the tech and tunes, revealing a little more of the man Dave. Nice. Just nice.
Dang I hope they don’t build a house on that lot with missing head stones 💀👻👻👻💀 Man if I had roller blades I attack them roads big time .. great family you have and thanks for showing that great architectural area.
Great walkaround video, I enjoyed that last one you did walking around at night too. Very cool! :)
Cheers very much Shane. Glad you liked the vid. :)
I love these tour videos. the nighttime one was great too. That cemetery was crazy! Can’t believe they would move all the headstones.

I had all 4 taken out at once, had a face like a soccer ball for a week.
Heck! Last week I had my Wisdom removed! Didn't even hurt!
Have we lost something or have we gained something from lockdown ? Somehow the country looks even more beautiful than before. Thank you for sharing.
