I'm so old and sad I really enjoyed that. I have an Eko 6, the old Ranger. Got it in 1972, we're both hanging on. Lovely interesting collection Dave. 🙏🎸❤
No Gibson, PRS, Kramer, Taylor, Martin, or any of the like. I can't afford those high dollar name brands much like all the rest of us. Dave shows us all what can be done with good, well set up instruments that "gear" snobs would turn their noses up on. Other than his Oswald's(BTW they are awesome Dave) the rest are what most of us have to work with. I salute you Dave on your nice collection of guitars. Thanks for showing us that playing well is not bought by tons of money or in a name brand stamped on a headstock. BTW Dave, you need another Strat!! LOL!! 😉🤣

Another soul touching intro. This is why at 55 I’ve decided to pick up the guitar. Just so I can play a Simpson, Gilmour, piece of music to give my soul an outlet. Absolutely no clue how to get that sound but someday, someday I will.
When u mentioned tuning the SG to E flat it made me think about how much I love the way strats sound in E flat. There’s something about it. Mick did an episode on TPS on it years ago. Ive since tuned all my guitars that way and I love the way it sounds so much more
Dave, I have to thank you yet again for reminding me that you don’t need expensive guitars to be amazing. I get so caught up worrying about what other guitarists will think if I play my Squier or my Epiphone. And I wish I didn’t get so wrapped up in that rubbish. Does it matter what the guys on the forums and what other musicians at the gig think of us? No it doesn’t. We love what we do and that’s all that matters. Thank you sir.

Hey it's really easy to fix the string alignment on that Fender squire. Just back off the neck screws about a half turn then you can move the neck back and forth in the pocket until it's correctly aligned and tighten the screws again. You can loosen the strings a little but I never have to do that. I build guitars and repair them as well and I've had to do this to a bunch of Fender guitars. Don't worry it won't hurt the guitar at all and it will sound a lot better after you do it because the strings will be over the pole pieces where they belong. Hope you see this comment, nice collection by the way!

Dave you are truly an inspiration. Some days I find myself looking at the guitar and not wanting to play because of how low-skilled I am. I look forward to being able to express myself on this instrument like yourself. Keep on playing, I will keep watching :)
Ha ha ..... loved every minute, but as time was going on I began to think 'he won't have time for the amps', oh dear, I wanted to see and hear about them! Then the big reveal! A whole new video dedicated to them - can't wait! You look so comfortable and so much at home (no pun intended) in this setting. Oh, by the way, thought the wall hangers were, erm, interesting!! So, well, you, I guess. Oh, oh, loved the playing, such feel and always resonates emotionally with me.
My strat was made within a month of your white one. I don't know what was going on in the MIM shop in early 2000's but whatever it was they need to bottle it. Mine was a sunburst strat. I actually stripped the paint and painted it a Lake placid Blue. But I love LOVE LOVE that guitar. It buries all other strats I've played. That's why when I see you show so much love to your white one, I GET IT. I seriously wish you could play mine I could play yours. I'm really curious how close they are.
This is no ordinary video. This a documentary!!! Hahaha. Love the ¿ethereal/ambient/Gilmoure? intro. Also Squier Bullets are the GOATS of cheap electric guitars. Even the new ones. I'm bias since I own one but it just great. Thanks for the video Dave. Have a very good evening.
15:48 a strap button bit higher placed is not a bad thing. I moved all buttons on my five guitars about 10-11cm up towards the arm rest, after I found out it hangs more comfortable on the strap, less neck heavy, not fighting the upwards angling of the neck and slightly tilted so I see the frets and my abdomen is stable imbedded in the belly cut. Try it out, you might like it. If you have stands, bare in mind measuring carefully the new place for the button, so they‘re not in the way. One guitar even got two strap buttons at the bottom, padded with some rubber inserts, simmetrical on both sides of the center line, so it has small feet to lean against the wall. Love your vids man! Keep it up! Cheers from Deutschland
It's a guitarnival!! Guitopia is finally upon us! Guitarnivors unite! Guitarmageddon is coming! OK, OK... I'll stop with the guitar puns... Seriously, that's quite the guitarsenal you have acquired there Dave! *I'll see myself out.*

Nice video dave ..sprang rite back to a good outcome..like your collection ...looking foward to your second part (amps) to this video...playing in the dark realy added to the vibe of your instrumental...excellent an powerful phrasing also...inspiring
I think it’s great to always see how much you love guitars and find something wonderful about everything.... but if you ever have the chance to play a MacMull you’ll be shocked how UNBELIEVABLE they are....I was fortunate enough to get one a few weeks ago and I love it more than the 62 I was lucky enough to own and the few other vintage ones I’ve played... please try to find one to play you’ll be amazed what that shop is creating
I got the Legend Aria Sunburst telecaster from Dawsons in Chester 1993 still got, just brought it down to play got me back into playing again after a 10 year break, great guitar.
As I get older and older I seriously have considered getting a Steve Howe type guitar holder that you can walk up to a play without holding the instrument at all....makes sense especially for heavy instruments....I had surgery that limits how much weight can sit on my lap so I thought that might address it..Carlos Santana uses one for his nylon string guitar on stage....brilliant tool
Great collection man. You got some real gems in there. Couldn't help but notice a conspicuous absence of PRS. As a fellow Fender junkie and Strat lover with a limited budget (actually in 15 years was never able to bond with any hh guitar other than an hh Jag that now needs a complete electrics overhaul) I recommend you try the PRS SEs. I had Epiphones and ESPs lps, sent them all back to the store. Didn't like the feeling of the neck, humbuckers sound dead... A couple of years ago decided to try again and got a hardtail 22 fret PRS SE (a Paul's guitar), and it changed everything. Superb neck feel, very expressive pickups, got nothing bad to say about it. It's life changing. Something else I've been meaning to try out are the G&L strats, but haven't had the opportunity yet.
Wonderful Collection, Dave! Hear ya loud & clear on not wanting to restring that 12-string acoustic. I have two of them. Restrung one about a month or two ago, and it's good for at least a year; probably two...lol. The other one is in dire need of restringing, and I must bite the bullet - soon. It's like weeding 40 acres of grass, but feels great once you're done.
Give me one! Jk, just wanted to say that you and John are my favorite guitarist, and watching your videos really de stresses me from all my worries. Dave, I hope you do great and God bless
Man, I love your passion into music. It's awesome to see someone like you, who still cares more about just pure music, rather than just making music for fame. Also I have a question, I started playing guitar half a year ago. I wanted a gear similar to John's but budget-friendly of course :D So I bought Squier Classic vibe 60's strat and Katana 100 1. version. Do you think I made the right decision, or would you recommend me something else? Also I think of buying Ibanez WH10V3. Do you think it's good? Because I've seen some videos about it, and they say it's not as good as previous versions. But since the old versions are quite expensive, I'll have to stick with V3. Anyway thanks for your videos, you deserve way more subscribers, because your work is immense. I'm not a native speaker so I learned new word from this video, word immense :D An awesome education material
Beautiful playing, Dave. I had that into on repeat while I was working on some thumbnails. Beautiful playing!

Nice collection. I love your Jag Dave!
Just lovely stuff Dave - thanks!!
There a beauty nice guitar collection !!!!!!
Just saw your cameo on Long way to fall Dave! great song and a great surprise
This man has 44 guitars ! that's insane man !
I got the Legend Aria Sunburst telecaster from Dawsons in Chester 1993 still got, just brought it down to play got me back into playing again after a 10 year break, great guitar.
Some new guitars for us to see there, super. I sometimes think i have too many guitars until the yearly Daves collection video lol
That’s what happens when you combine a heavy plectrum with a break up... And a breakDOWN!
Good job making that funny!
You definitely made the right choice. :)
i like that we are finally talking 100k subs
