I swear this got me so hyped for Vegeta, he is my favorite character and he finally got the damn spotlight for once. When he started dodging Jirens multiple fist attack I thought he was about to go UI, but then he gets wrecked at the end. I think next episode he is either going to go some form of UI or get his own transformation

I think that's part of the problem. Most of the sub-par animation is very modern. Unfortunately, that's a majority of modern anime with some exceptions. Yuya Takahashi is taking Dragon Ball back to 1993 and now we see difference between eras.
Genuinely such a shame, the animation in this Ep in all honesty is the best I've seen in the whole series yet.

The animators are on a 6-8 week cycle at least. And Takahashi isn't better than Shida. Shida did good and trunks vs black and zamasu in the high action part, the beginning of Vegito vs Zamasu, Goku vs Frieza, the end of the first Goku vs Jiren fight, and when Goku got really mad at Jiren in 130.

Jiren didn't dodge the Final Flash, he got hit and got knocked down, there was a clear shot of that. He did immediately get back up and move in towards Vegeta though, so he clearly didn't really get hurt.
Also, Vegeta's eyes when he was finally defeated were grey not silver, similar to when Hit "killed" Goku, so I don't think it's related to UI at all. Just a near death experience.

Yo, this arc is a step in the right direction! In the past, everyone tried to have the same power-ups as Goku. But now, we're finally starting to see everyone seek out their own transformations and it's large part due to their personalities!

This episode is far better than anything GT has ever made.
Whis never stated Vegeta was close to geting UI, he said he believed Vegeta was trying to use Jiren as a gateway to UI. Both Whis and Beerus acknowledged Vegeta's effort in attempt towards UI. But, I'm sure he'll achieve it at some point.
He misinterprets and takes things the wrong way a lot. I personally don't think Vegeta will ever get ultra instinct but will master SSJB.
Now Future he’s getting something different next episode
Yeah, Goku said he'll go beyond SSB. He may not get UI, but he'll have something. Too bad we already learned from spoilers that neither of them do well against Jiren next episode anyway, but I guess Vegeta may look cool for a moment with whatever he has. At this point, I just want to see full UI Goku; that image in the poster.

i just wanted to add that jiren himself said something along the lines of ‘ that force was half decent’. if jiren DID dodge it how would he have been able to feel the force? jiren is so fast in terms of dodging that he wouldnt’ve have felt anything UNLESS he tanked the final flash which he did.

They for sure went Perfect Cell here, but I think this better in some regards. The Final Flash against cell was epic because Cell was Smug as shit, but people forget that Vegeta might be the best character in the series when it comes to hurting people far above him. Cell was leagues above him yet he NEEDED to dodge the final flash or likely die. He wasn't even able to dodge it. Jiren on the other hand pretty much said "Bring yo shit!!!" He then tanks the attack head one, plays dead, blitzes Vegeta mid sentence, and then lights his shit up with an attack we have never seen him use that damn near knocks him out cold. This is likely the strongest attack we have seen him use. Everyone gets hit with that Ki blast and they are out. Jiren didn't even feel the need to Ki blast SSJB Kaio Ken Goku, yet he did blast Hit. The same barrage of strikes that Goku couldn't and still can't dodge or block, Vegeta was able to. Even though he got rocked I think Vegeta might have given jiren the biggest run for his money. He landed more shots on Jiren then UI Goku did. Ponder on that one for a bit.

Yeah, he is a genius, but I would not say going toe to toe. You forget that Vegeta said that Jiren was not powering up for him as he did with Goku. He said that Jiren's attacks were weaker and slower. So, going toe to toe is a overstatement.
The score for this episode was amazing so many different tracks love the Goku Black arc throwbacks.

There was many things missed in this “Review” that I noticed and it wasn’t making sense. From what I saw Jiren was on the ground after that hit with the final flash. He didn’t “dodge it” or “eat it” when it planned round to begets again you see him look in shock as the smoke clears and Jiren has got up then is in his face. That’s just one example there is many where the episode wasn’t viewed properly by geekdom. I’m shocked as I have not noticed him miss so many things then talk about it as if they never happened.

Falcon Punch they didn't show jiren on the ground, they only showed his left arm and leg, and when you watch jiren before he bnlasts vegeta he has his left arm in the air, so I'm assuming that was jiren preparing to launch himself at vegeta. If they showed his full body then yes I'd agree

If Jiren was trying to launch an attack then they would have shown it. This is a shonen genre anime meant for young kids and teens. You really think the show would come up with something that teens and young kids wouldn't understand?. Jiren was on the ground lol. But obviously the attack didn't hurt him because Jiren is a tank and fast as shit and quickly overturned the advantage in his favor. Remember Majin Buu? He could get his ass kicked and still be unaffected by it. Jiren got hit by the Final Flash, the force clearly caused him to hit the ground but he was obviously unaffected by it. This is the theme of Dragon Ball villains and always has been.

They don't fully show his body for effect -- in that second before the smoke completely cleared, Jiren had already recovered and moved to counter Vegeta. It goes back to what Vados said during the special, most fighters let their guard down after "eliminating" their opponent but Jiren doesn't appear to have that weakness. Even on the receiving end of said "elimination", he doesn't waste time

IGoByLEEK Hit is not at all equal to SSB x20 tournament Goku. The last time Goku and Hit fought, Goku was able to stalemate Hit with SSB alone. Even in the Universe 6 arc, Goku only used SSB x10, not x20.

I'm starting to wonder if Jiren's secret is that he absorbs most/some of the energy that he's attacked with.... Basically coming at his opponents with his power stacked on top of whatever power they're attacking him with. It would kind of explain why he went from really weak against Vegeta to suddenly overpowering. His OVERWHELMING feats seem to happen in spurts. One second he was clearly on the ground from the Final Flash. The next he was in Vegeta's face overwhelming him again. The visuals from his previous fights and the dialogue about his character never being beaten no matter who his opponent is. If his base power was higher than a God of Destructions Goku and Friends would have been gone already. But if he's absorbing and then using his opponents energy. As well as collecting bits of the energy around him in the battles. It would explain everything.
That sounds like Bergamo’s power and look how overwhelmed he got when Goku hit him with SSB and Kaioken but it’s a good theory

Also blocking without looking isn't considered impressive by them - they move by feeling their opponent's energy and this has been the case since the beginning of Z at least - think back to Vegito fighting Super Buu - Super Buu puts the smoke cloud up thinking he'll have the upper hand, but Vegito wrecks him because vision is meaningless to a truly skilled warrior.

Saiyan's get stronger everytime they are brought to the brink of death. In this tournament alone, Goku has been on the verge of death basically multiple times so that explains his dramatic power increase.
There is never a dramatic power increase it is only small unless its a new unlocked power or some or thing acted as a trigger

Yeah, his aura was different . You also see sparkles/twinkles in it and when it appears to be Vegeta looking at something. His hair color looks to be a completely different shade of blue too as well as him having visible pupils in the new ending.

They may not mention, but the actual mechanic itself worked just like that. Goku Black operated on zenkai boosts and Zamasu being able to surpass Goku's limits while controlling his body.
They can, however they didn't scale since they were introduced, and because of that they are so little they don't matter in their current level of beyond god power.

Goku got stronger 'cause of Zenkai so it's nothing new. Also, at first, Jiren didn't fight Goku and Vegeta seriously. Even Vegeta mentioned it in the epusode.

You were wrong, Geekdom. Jiren was laying on the ground when the smoke cleared. Then Vegetta laughed. When Vegetta opened his eyes, Jiren was there. But Jiren looked down at first.
I think this is a clue that ties in with how he could beat Hit. Maybe Jiren can control time. Step outside time to heal, create an illusion when meditating, etc. Kind of do what Hit did but for longer periods. Which is why Jiren never tires or looks beat up. He escapes and comes back renewed.
Or maybe he is like Kang from Marvel. Just pulls himself from different parts of the timeline when he is at full power. Like jumping between the now and when the tournament began. Kang does stuff like that and Magog did that in DC.

Why is Nobody talking about the preview and new ending basically showing Vegeta having a new power up or Ultra Instinct? Preview literally has Goku saying Vegeta gets a power surpassing SSB and the last picture of the new outro has Ultra Instinct Goku standing next to SSB Vegeta, but vegeta's eyes look like Ultra Instinct Goku's eyes look (minus the grey part). Am I reading too much into this? lol
