- The Monkey Island series is set to make a comeback in 2022 following the surprise announcement of the aptly titled Return to Monkey Island. The new game sees original series creator Ron Gilbert back in the writer's chair, and it has been billed as a direct follow-up to Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, the last game in the series he was actually involved with. So in anticipation of the forthcoming release, we figured it was a good time to take a look back at the evolution of the Monkey Island series as a whole. Honestly I grew up with Curse of monkey island, to me that will always be #1. But I am very excited for the Return!

And now it has a crossover with Sea of Thieves! The legend of the two games continues!
Tales of Monkey Island translated all the character and style to 3D so well, and Return to Monkey Island ended up being brilliant. Still need to complete Curse of Monkey Island and haven't even tried Escape yet, but I did finish the first episode for Sea of Thieves: Monkey Island expansion. Quite good, that crate puzzle had me stumped for a bit.
Wait, this wasn't just something sea of thieves just made up?

3 is still the best looking of the lot, the last one is the worst!
