Speaking of the night scene, it would be cool to put street lights and other things that regulate lighting. That way, an enemy without a night vision would have some chance on the street. And of course, there should be an option to turn off the same lights, for example by turning off the generator. This is my small comment. Like this scene and the devlog, thanks for the work!

@@ИльяЮрьевич-е5п If i had to guess, it's a lightmap thing. lightmaps are tricky, and lighting in general is a performance hog. to do toggleable lights you have to use realtime lights instead of baked. judging from how we have to load a separate scene instead of a different scene setting, the directional lighting (world light, the sun/moon basically) is probably baked, along with most if not all of the point/area lighting. there's ways to do this, but probably not with the way H3's rendering is set up currently. That kind of a refactor basically touches everything with a texture on it, so it's a big task. Also, for an example of a realtime light, the flashlights are realtime in H3, same with everything that illuminates that you can move, but not much else. everything else is baked but uses tricks to simulate realtime. basically, ahead of time you bake the angle of the lighting, and the game can figure out where realtime shadows land later.

Anton, you ever consider making supersonic and subsonic ammo different for suppressor use? A different sound effect for each, sosigs able to detect supersonic shots better, slightly less damage with subsonics, etc?
I believe he said why that won't happen during an early sosig devlog. It means a lot more sounds to be added for each weapon, including every one in the future

as a right handed person i prefer and appreciate left handed bolts. itd be amazing if the part added to this rifle to make it lefty was attachable to all the other bolt action guns as well

I just got Vr to work with my pc again and i feel happy to play H3 after maybe like a year of not playing it. Its fun with the new weapons and things that were added. I love the hard work that was put into it and love the fact that night vision causes my pc to freak out some (fans just get loud lol)
I've been following H3VR for 8 years ever since the first video you made on it, and I'm FINALLY getting a headset so I can play this masterpiece. I absolutely cannot wait!

It's funny right before this devlog dropped I finally decided to check out the grillhouse scene and was really confused about what the point was, then this drops and shows off an even better way to use it.
YES finally some proper combat scenarios to use the night vision in. Personally I don't use the alpha branch, but once this is on the main branch I'm gonna be jumping right into it lol

I think adding a sosig difficulty option to the options panel would be a good decision, like the ability to effect how fast they aim and how perceptive they are
I love playing this map, I choose one gun at a time and then within each room are randomly generating some sausage and then going through them one at a time. After hitting them I go back and switch to the next gun, recover the doors and windows, and then go back to randomly generating some sausage to hit them, but now this door and window recovery button is gone and I'm left with having to reload the map to get the guns again. I would like the door and window recovery buttons to come back. (Sorry my English is not so good)
I'm spending most my time in h3vr on grillhouse, I like t&h but I more like to clearing rooms with random weapons in a tactical and not so tactical manner. This update is fenomenal wonderful even. Also I'm soooo exited for the grillhouse at night you dont even know!!! Thank you! Also ammo boxes are amazing too, I really like the full shooting range experience. Can't wait for fix for them so I can save scenarios with the boxes
It would be really cool if we could tune to an extent how dark the night is. Sometimes the moon is out and illuminates enough where you can see pretty far though not so clearly. Much like how the nighttime grillhouse looks like here where nods and lights definitely help you see but they're not required. But sometimes its cloudy and pitch black which would make the player truly helpless without nods or a light which would be interesting imo
4:20 that falls into the logic of pistol vs long-gun bolt action. A rifle/carbine/shotgun (a pawn shop local to me had a bolt shotty) you want on your dominant hand because you need to stabilize with innominate hand. With pistols, they are lighter and easier to stabalize, so your trigger hand also functions as a point of stability, something exceedingly difficult with a long gun. So, for faster follow-up shots, the pistols are easier when the bolt is actuated by innominate hand. Pair this with the idea that "anything is a hand gun if you are strong enough" and the fact that vr guns are literally weightless and suddenly all bolt actions can be pistols making a weightless long gun faster by using a innominate hand bolt.
Since players and sosigs become visible in flashlights, there could be like a large spotlight that would look around an area. Imagine any night stealth section in like a prison camp or something with the spotlights.
This may be a weird request, and I don’t know if it’s even possible, but could you add motion blur to the game? I’m not talking about in the spectator cam, I’m talking about for the actual player in the headset screen. I think it’d look really cool and make it look way more realistic. If you do decide to add motion blur, make sure to make it disabled by default, because people could definitely get motion sick. Keep up the great work!
@@yeetthing motion blur is used to simulate higher framerates on a flat screen. In VR all it’s good for is to induce vomiting. VR requires a higher minimum frame rate already so motion blur is not needed nor is it “realistic.”

Take the game “BODYCAM,” for example; the motion blur in that game really helps it look like real life. There are tons of games that use motion blur to look cooler and more realistic.

I like seeing you play god in your own little world. I feel like the complexity of the systems you control is something that goes way over people's heads, including mine. And you seem to have a very intuitive understanding of it all, instinctively surmounting problems as they happen. And thanks for many years of viewing pleasure, even if i dont get many chances to play the game anymore.

Honestly the monkey's paw version of the left handed mosin is how all devs should implement requested features. High effort hacky.

I thought subsonic 300 BLK through a suppressor in-game reduced the radius that Sosigs could hear the shot

Motion blur in VR is the most nauseating thing I can think of. Hard no. There’s a reason it’s so extremely rare in VR.
