If they did it wouldn't be together, that's for sure. Mark Farner is Grand Funk Railroad. These guys are better than that imposter band calling themselves Grand Funk Railroad. GFR will never be the same without Mark Farner.
Wow...very impressive! As a drummer myself and having played this song a number of times, I am blown away by the drummer's rolls around the toms....I can tell he's practiced rudiments by the boat load. Also by the way band added improvisation on the intro...! Very well done! Added in 2015 and I'm just seeing this....2021! Hope these guys are still playing!
Thanks Mr kite, I appreciate it. We love Grand Funk! For the most recent picnic I picked this GF song. Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/HiEhqIx-cAE/v-deo.htmlsi=EJ5djyu0jKj702oX
Hello Jack, we all have to give them a break. we don't get any younger. When the time comes, we have to let it go. I don't think there are many singers who can go past 75 yo. I think our younsters are really catching on to the music we grew up to and doing a great job with it. Of course we would like the originators of it all but we have to be realistic about it. So, at least the music will live on!
Unfortunately the band which is a group of over 15 friends & had been playing together for over 20 years decided to call it quits in 2024. So all we have is you tube to give us the memories of this great bunch. Can't believe I just found them 2 weeks ago.
Just a reminder from the band. We are doing the live version from Shea Stadium in 1971. It's a different arrangement and a bit faster. ua-cam.com/video/A_t59To7Snk/v-deo.html
When I auditioned for a band this was my go to vocal. I covered this song in several bands and it is VERY HARD TO PULL OFF. There's nowhere to hide. These guys do an amazing job.
I was able to sing this with Mark Farner back the day!!! I sang harmony on this song also Some Kinda Wonderful and a couple other songs. It was a band we had in Holly Mi. A great lead guitarist drummer and bass I sang lead at the time The bands name was Bhang then we changed names to August Trane. I had a great time that night. Mark came out to visit whenever he was around.
As an old drummer who played with Bloodrock with a few dates with GFR, this is nice to see a younger bunch of misfits do what we used to do. "Rock and roll will never die, but it's always been a little bit sick!"
If i remember correctly i was at a concert at the San Diego Sports Arena when Bloodrock and Grand Funk played on the same bill. Man that was along time ago. Bloodrock had a song named DOA i think, weird sirens and stuff. we surfed by day and listened to great music by night.Hahaha!
That drummer is top notch. Terrific cover by everyone.
I wish Mark Farner and the boys could hear this. Great job. Everyone is so tight. That bass tone is outstanding!

Grand Funk was one of my all time favorite bands. These guys are outstanding.
It’s great that you folks are keeping these tunes alive! Thank you 🙏 😊
To me, this shows how impresive Grand Funk was, they made this sound with only three people. A great cover guys.
I love this song! Well done! The bassist did a great job!!!
Crushing bass
Nicely done
These guys can play ANYTHING and do it VERY well . Thank you!
The drummer hits all the licks, on all songs, but the whole band, does some unbelievable covers. If I knew where and when, Love to come see them.
Great job guys. As a Vet, this was MY SONG, waiting to come back home!

I like how the drummer nailed that single roll going into the bridge. Also, the tambourine man nailing the top part.
Thanks Mr kite, I appreciate it. We love Grand Funk!

Excellent work. Really a class act. The tambourine is essential to this song. Bass, guitar, vox epic. GFRR would be proud. Well done
The harmony was wonderful! Well done
One of the best covers I've seen of this GFR classic. Unfortunately there will never be another GFR without Mark Farner.
