the walking dead gets ZERO recognition at the emmys. this season andy has to get an award. hes british as fuck playin an american badass, that takes talent.
Andrew Lincoln has never received an Emmy...a Saturn Sci Fi award but never an Emmy. The show won Emmys for artistry/special effects. The Emmys tend to be horror/sci fi snobs.
I am Negan you are so on point. Emmy never recognises him though, he was being included in the list of most underrated actors since season 3. Still doesn't get recognition he deserves
Sasha didn't have a weapon to kill Negan with, so she became a weapon to do so and along the way, she also gave the others a fighting chance. Mad respect for her choosing to go out like that!
"How did Shiva know to just attack the bad guys?" Ezekiel took a level in beastmaster Ranger. He can use a bonus action on his turn to direct his animal companion attack a target of his choosing.
Muttley lx btw...like the name and profile pic....just curious,do you know the name of the old cartoon where they had all the cartoon characters on teams and had races?....just asking you because Muttley was on the bad guy team that never won.
Its from Wacky races, i used to watch the cartoon when i was a kid. I chose the name because my friends used to say i was always laughing, and when i register on youtube i remembered this cartoon.
As far as Sasha, we learned why she chose to do what she did and one of the reasons why Abraham's death at that time and in that way affected her so deeply. The fact she dreamed of him dying the morning of his death and how they talked about it and how living/dying for others is what makes life worth living(Eugene apparently isn't that evolved). I also think what she really wanted a knife or something like that so she could kill Negan but when all Eugene gave her was the poison pill, she had to become the weapon herself. You can't really get more selfless than that.
If you have been watching The Walking Dead since season 1 week by week every year, its really hard not to get mad at how slow the pacing is. I do love the show but yes there definitely is some pacing problems. The people that binge the show however won't really notice them since they can just watch episode after episode rather than waiting a week. This episode was completely BAD ASS though!
I agree. Been watching S1, definitely one of my favourite shows on TV (besides GoT) and I love it still and I do admit there are pacing issues but it's not enough to make me say this show is shit. As I said still love it.
I appreciate what these guys do, and I enjoy the videos for the most part, but this honestly felt like I was listening to commentary from people who don't really get the show. The flashbacks with Abe put us in Sasha's mindset of sacrificing herself for those she loves. The conversation with Abraham was all about that. She understood the importance of that because of him. And the shots of Sasha and Maggie were from one of the more beautiful moments from season 5, when the two of them found some peace after suffering great losses, and they first really became best friends. This was to remind us that Sasha was at peace now. Sorry, I don't mean to rant. It just bothered me a little.
I feel like they haven’t understood a LOT of stuff. Eric even once said, “I get it and I think it’s stupid” and then elaborated demonstrating that he in fact didn’t get it.
Maggie and Sasha sitting on the log watching the sun set was from season 5 right before they met Aaron, and went to Alexandria. I think it was episode 10 after Tyrese died, Maggie was bonding and consoling Sasha.
Not sure if anyone pointed this out yet, but that log scene was just after Maggie lost Beth and Sasha just lost Bob and Tyrese. They sat on that log and watched the sunset. It was just before meeting Aaron I think.
Because so many people know that Sonequa Martin-Green is moving on to "Star Trek: Discovery", the producers/showrunner probably decided to give Sasha a grand send-off, as opposed to a so-called surprise send-off that really wouldn't have been a surprise.
TheChanges 23 exactly bro. we need thus build up for a good pay off. but they better not do it for next season. next season better be action am I right? plus some character development but nothing like this season
You're not alone trust me. Some people like myself enjoy chess pieces being moved and characters being developed. Then you have the ADD crowd that thinks we need action sequences every five mins or they classify it as filler or "bad pacing". This is coming from a guy that loves season 2 despite it being panned by so many people.
+Mene Brotherhood you may not like the pace but to say it was bad at story building is mind boggling. This season was literally all about story building.
She is litterlly never in the episode for longer than 30 secs walking Dead is too cheap to give her more screen time let alone fix their growing issue on the writing of the past 2 seasons geez walking dead your lucky I've been he since season 1
Really? I thought the scenes with Abe better established their relationship, which I thought was a little light on making me see what they saw in each other. This made up for it. I also don't think predictability is as bad as people make it. Predictability isn't always bad and unpredictability isn't always good, eg. most of M. Night's films.
i think for live tv watchers it is way too slow. but I am used to watching it an episode or 2 a day (or every other day) and I think when you watch it at that pace it is perfect. I love the walking dead pacing. i love slowing it down, lingering on those emotional shots and the long, quiet conversations. I like episodes dedicated to only one or two characters, even when they arent fan favorites. but yes when you can only watch an episode every week it feels way too slow.
i think it was mainly for abe to show he didn't die for no reason that he knew if he dies today he did it for someone else instead of dieing for nothing he died tp protect maggie and the future
10:45 I knew that was going to get asked, and I just knew that Calvin would know the answer. As gun enthusiast, I was having to explain that to my friends as well. 😁
Everybody has a hard on for Sasha because she's loving, but also a strong, determined, full force badass women just like the rest. She does things she believes in and does them with force whether that be taking down enemies and protecting her family which she very much did this episode. RIP SASHA and THANK YOU SASHA!!
Sasha was prettier, smarter and more interesting to be around then Rosita. Rosita was annoying at certain points and honestly think she would've been killed off if Sonequa wasn't leaving for another show. We get it guys pretty black girls make you uneasy or you don't fancy black girls in general its obvious lol. How can you say Sasha wasn't badass though?? She's proven herself multiple times i.e; ambushing Negan's sanctuary basically by herself.
Wow, didn't like Sasha? She was a fucking badass and a likable character. And she was selfless. Guess you guys would have been satisfied if mich died? Why? She is a strong character too. I disagree with you guys simply said. An amazing finale and sometimes too much action throughout the season would get boring and predictable. Season 4 had less action than this season....the season with the virus in the jail was lamer than this whole season. I loved it and enjoyed the buildup. And the tiger was the best fucking thing about the whole season too. That trumps any bullshit you guys think about the pacing.
Everyone thought they were gonna kill off Carl because Chandler posted a picture of him getting into UGA, so people thought he's gonna leave the show to focus on school.
Would've loved to see 3 different flashbacks instead of one flashback split into 3 scenes with Abraham. It would've been cool to have 1 with tyreese , another with bob, then the last one with Abraham. That would've been amazing especially to see tyrese again people forget how great of a character he was. Also bob brought a lighter side to such a dark show. 3 amazing characters
Bernie Wrightson was a famous comic artist and co-creator of Swamp Thing. He died of Cancer in March of this year. Greg Nicotero had directly referenced Bernie’s work while explaining he wanted to up the gore factor on The Walking Dead. He was an amazing artist. Check out his work if you never have, it will be worth it.
This finale was great. We had a good mix of story and character development and then some great action. Sasha's death I could see coming but not in the way that it played out on screen, I will say though that her death was one of the most meaningful in the history of the entire show. She gave them a chance, if she didn't do what she did then we would be back at square one. I also felt that this episode was a proper goodbye to Glenn and Abraham. They will be spoken about obviously in future seasons but not as heavily focused on. Loved this episode, a good finale. The season has been a bit up and down for me personally (the pacing especially) but I still love this show and can't wait for Season 8. It's all out war folks!
I thought when Eugene said he had a plan or whatever I thought when the Trash people turned on Rick they might reverse-turn back on Negan later since Eugene could've known about Negan knowing Rick had the Trashies help and could've sneaky told the Trashies to pretend to turn on Rick and that would've been cool.
my favorite moment was rick on top of the RV in the premiere.... broken (just the acting in the premiere from rick was phenomenal) and then the contrast of that scene with the finale scene that Erik described "NOTHING! will stop me" and "You're all already dead..."
Khary Payton the actor who plays King Ezekiel also does a lot of voice acting for DC in particular. You know him as Cyborg of Teen Titans/Injustice also Aqualad and Black Manta in Young Justice.
My favorite moment from the season was when Rick and Daryl were reunited at the Hilltop, they hugged and Daryl gave Rick his gun back. Can't wait to see more reactions from you guys in season 8 😊
I totally disagree about your opinion on Sasha. She is so underrated, selfless, badass, and a hero. She sacrificed herself for the group and went out fighting. And Negan was attached to her because he saw those things in her. Abe left Rosita because their relationship was out of convenience, he never loved her and all the they would do is fight and hook up. All of the time wasted this episode to say bye to the character was so dumb, we already knew she was dead from the start of the episode (she was turning) why waste more time on that?
Glenn was almost everyone favorite character so is Michonne so I don't get that statement either. Rosita is everyone babe of the show, but like Sasha, her arcs and moods changed so often that its dumb.
Katie Stubbs no one said you were racist. He said it's a shame that most people of color don't get the same respect attraction hype and story telling they deserve. Sasha was the shit and had potential and there was an actual reason why they focused on her in this episode. But for some reason some people don't care to even try and pay attention to why. She was an awesome character.
from the get-go, I did not understand why Rick would just implicitly trust the Scavengers, there really was no reason. I like how they showed the trees blocking road, so you know Dwight really was telling the truth and is on Rick's side, but is keeping it a secret because he he can be a more effective double-agent that way
negan was by far my favorite character in this entire season/series and I have to say Jeffery Dean Morgan's performance is amazing possibly the best actor for the role what do you think is worse being mauled by a tiger or a walker?
If Gregory is heading to The Sanctuary, he's in deep shit. Negan knows Hilltop was involved in the fight. He and Simon will know Gregory was sheltering Maggie and perhaps Daryl. He's going to get his head bashed in.
I think a lot of the problem with the Abe bits came from editing...if that had just been one 3 minute scene, it wouldn't have felt so dominant in the episode. Combine that with the way it was written, with dying Sasha saying lines before we see them (which felt to me like writers falling too in love with their writing), and the choppiness of three timelines cut together oddly, and it became unnecessarily clunky. (That's not a complaint - I liked the episode and loved the season being bookended by Abraham and Glenn, and showing the disparate paths their partners took into the future without them)
I agree with Eric that scene with Rick was awesome! Great job by Andrew Lincoln. I didn't care for the first half of this season besides the first episode but this second half was awesome imo.
because the next season will most likely have more action and shoot-outs and battle scenes, I hope they work on the editing because these war scenes should be better choreographed and edited. I thought the Season 3 episode where The Governor attacks the prison for the first time was really well-edited and had a good progression, but next season needs better writing and editing
Andrew Lincoln deserves an award, he is such a damn good actor. He makes everything he says believable. This was a fantastic episode.
the walking dead gets ZERO recognition at the emmys. this season andy has to get an award. hes british as fuck playin an american badass, that takes talent.

you guys had me choking on my drink during the "do it" sequence
I think Calvin's beard needs its own introduction.

I absolutely love Sasha, so her focus wasn't a problem for me.. just wish she didn't have to die :'(

Walking Dead is based in a world where zombie culture never existed. Its a Fantasy world. I think sometimes people forget that.
Wrightson was a classic comic artist, espcially of horror comics, clearly an inspiration to the Walking Dead creators

I think if the hilltop and kingdom would have attacked just out of nowhere, and sporadically, Rick and Carl would have been hostages.

Bernie Wrightson was a god. Perfect tribute to him.

because the next season will most likely have more action and shoot-outs and battle scenes, I hope they work on the editing because these war scenes should be better choreographed and edited. I thought the Season 3 episode where The Governor attacks the prison for the first time was really well-edited and had a good progression, but next season needs better writing and editing
