Hi Paul. New subscriber here. I have just purchased a 2013 XK Convertible, US Spec 5 liter. I have watched most of your video's, they have been so helpful! Really appreciate the time and effort you put into them. Live in the US, in North Carolina. Regards, Vic

Perfect timing for this video as I’ll be under my 07 4.2 XK on Tuesday to install the Xkr back box and oil change at the same time. Life-on-Cars a fantastic resource!👍🏻

Great content Paul. Another essential servicing job on the XKR completely demystified for even the most amateur DIYer's amongst us to undertake with absolute confidence, and saving £££s of garage charges in the process.👍👍

Nice one Paul. Sturdy 25 litre plastic container, cut in half drill a few holes for string/plastic carry handles. That's my used oil container. 👍

    Hey Paul!
I've been a fan of your channel for a while now! Really appreciate the content.
A couple of weeks ago, I became the proud owner of a 4.2 XK as well (MY 2007). Your videos have been incredibly helpful in getting me acquainted with the car.
The other day, while I was doing a bit of inspection underneath my car, I noticed that my oil cooler has been bypassed. It seems like there might be an issue with it. Do you happen to know the correct part number for the replacement? I'd like to get that sorted before summer kicks in. Thanks a bunch!

Hey Paul big fan from across the pond in Ohio here. Would you have an email for public consumption? Wanted to describe an issue with my 5.0L XKR just to get your thoughts on it. Obviously you’re not my mechanic but it’s always good to hear fresh ideas 💡and share experiences 👍🏻 No worries if not buddy ❤

If you mean how do you delete / reset the service due message, after you've completed the oil change ... it's a bit complicated:
      1. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch (with the ignition off).
      2. Press the start button without applying the foot brake (do not start the engine)
      3. Release the rear fog lamp switch (within 1 second of pressing start button)
      4. Press and hold the trip computer cycle switch (within 1second).
      5. Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch. (within 1second)
      6. Continue to hold the trip computer and rear fog lamp switches (for around 10 seconds).
      7. The message center should display "resetting service mode" and then "service mode reset"
      8. Release the trip computer and the fog lamp switches and turn the ignition off.
The service message should now have been deleted
I did say it was complicated and it will probably take several attempts, as if you cock up the sequence or take too long at any one stage, the reset will fail and you'll need to go back to stage 1.
